It's a testament to Cruelty Squad's writing that I genuinely can't tell if half the lines in here are Maxor's jokes, or actual dialogue that I just missed.
As someone with a couple hundred hours and a 100% file, I can assure you, at least 90% of what he said is just describing things that are _actually in the game._ The stuff he changes is pretty much every NPC dialogue scene. But that's for the best, you should play it and find out what they _really_ have to say.

As such, every man deemed capable will be called to take military training after age of 18, though it can be delayed. on average this lasts 9 months, with some needing to have additional training every few years to make sure they aren't rusty. The current system is not ideal and I have some complaints of my own about it, but we are a relatively small country next to Russia which still has expansionist intentions, as has been most recently demonstrated in Ukraine war. As such, for us to have any chance at defending ourselves, this is a necessity in some form. If you do not want to use a gun you can complete military in different role. If you do not want to be in military at all, you can take civil service instead. Though, there is clear pressure to go to military instead. I hope that answered the guestion in full.

As such, every man deemed capable will be called to take military training after age of 18, though it can be delayed. on average this lasts 9 months, with some needing to have additional training every few years to make sure they aren't rusty.
The current system is not ideal and I have some complaints of my own about it, but we are a relatively small country next to Russia which still has expansionist intentions, as has been most recently demonstrated in Ukraine war. As such, for us to have any chance at defending ourselves, this is a necessity in some form.
If you do not want to use a gun you can complete military in different role. If you do not want to be in military at all, you can take civil service instead. Though, there is clear pressure to go to military instead.
