I have used the sticky holster to carry a Taurus 605 and it works but have changed to a Relentless-Tactical IWB "Defender" leather holster. It works much better and it is very well made. Only $40 for a leather holster that is very well made and has a lifetime warranty is a bargain. Plus I can also carry my Ruger SP101 in that same holster.
Relentless tactical defender leather IWB holster. Affordable. Good leather. Good belt clip. COMFORTABLE ALL DAY LONG. Truly a great bargain. For only slightly more than 20 beans. I’ve been toting my stainless steel 2” 856 in it daily for well over a year now. It’s a fantastic budget option for good leather and comfortable carry.
Great report! I used the sticky holster for years as well as my 2 sons. Seems to wear out in about a year. I switched over to the DeSantis style sticky holster. It works great and has lasted past a year with very little wear from pocket carry. The hogue grips a must far more secure grip than factory rubber grip.
@finprints I agree. My 856 Defender three inch came with the Hogue grips already on and the factory rubber grips extra. I use a Andicen IWB/OWB thumb break/snap leather holster I got off Amazon. Has a belt loop on one side and a clip on the other side. Really nice holster. About $55 now but I think it was more like $33 or $44 when I got mine. Plastic holsters are too noisy, too bulky, and too stiff. Leather is way more comfortable.
IWB kydex holsters are the most uncomfortable thing I've ever used and with a revolver the truly suck. I use a OWB paddle holster from MASC Holsters and a 1791, both from Amazon. Never tried the sticky for a revolver but I have one for my summer PF9 Kel Tec and it's great. Doesn't move a bit all day long. As a rule, buy the most expensive holster you can afford at the time. They're built better and last longer as well as more comfortable. The gun can't help you if you don't carry it.
During testing for the video I ran the kydex in the appendix position for a few days and it wasn't too bad...it sat way up high though, which I had to get used to. In general I prefer AIWB except for in the winter, when I usually OWB under a big hoodie or jacket. Thanks for watching!
It looks like the Whole Guns kydex has a cutout for an optic. Are they marketing it for the 605 TORO? I've been testing and designing a leather holster for most of the summer and I think I've finally hit on a good one for the 605.
Good question. I didn't see any notation that it was for TORO/optic ready models but it does look like it would work with them. Didn't even think of that, good call 🤙🏽 Thanks for watching!
Grip is the Hogue Overmold monogrip, # 67000. UA-cam doesn't like links to gun parts so I won't link one here,, but you can find a direct link on the blog post linked in the description 👍🏽 Thanks for watching!
I have both of these and totally disagree. The plastic kydex wannabe holster is dog shit. I am pretty sure that isn't kydex. I use the sticky for 3 different carry guns. It's great for casual carry to the grocery store, etc. If you are carrying this for an extended period, or, moving a lot, get a soft leather IWB. I would like to point out that you will never in your life need to legitimately draw your CCW and give a fecuck about re-holsterng it. If a quick re-holster is an issue; you drew too soon.
Glad someone said something about the silliness of re-holstering the weapon. If you're in a situation where you need to draw your weapon, re-holstering your weapon is the least of your concerns!

Thanks I'm going to go for that one
Thanks just picked up the whole guns holster thanks for the suggestion. I like it
Sticky recommends removing your holster prior to re-inserting the pistol. Then you return the holster to your pocket or waistband.
No kidding

My 856 is the 3" model. It fits perfectly in a Sticky designed for a commander size 1911. It also fits into any holster made for a Detective Special.

@@realpracticaltactical 5'8" 240. Now you understand why I don't do IWB anything.
I carry mine with a 1791 leather holster and to me it’s perfect my gx4 I carry in a kydex holster which is fine
Leather otb only thanks

Has anyone found an OWB holster for Taurus 856 3in??
I have the 605 and use a black, leather, Bianchi holster that works great.
Thanks for watching!
Can you sit down and be somewhat comfortable while appendix carrying with that gun?
Depends on the person
Do you have a beer gut?
What’s the grip? Can you please share a link? Thanks.

HOW TO ORDER HOLSTER ?
It took over 4 min of the 9 min video for you to place the Taurus INTO a holster to see how it looks. You like to talk too much.
They don’t make them in left hand. So I am guessing that it not that good of a business
What kind of speedloaders work for this gun? 🤔
How many videos are you going to ask that question on?

Sticky doesnt hold in my pocket during a draw whatsoever. Imho terrible and can get ya killed
