I lived in Pattaya in 3-4 condos along the beach (my job was 20 minutes away) f0r 12 years. True, it is a party town but that was never my thing. You can avoid those night spots - no one is forcing you to go to them. There is an abundant of restaurants offering a variety of cuisine, trendy shopping mall, fitness centers, and a nice beach promenade to walk on and beautiful sunsets. What eventually turned me off with Pattaya were the packaged bus tours creating traffic jams in the city, the pollution from these buses spewing exhaust as you are walking in the city.

I have to admit I hadn’t even considered Cambodia for retirement but after seeing your channel I’m rapidly changing my mind. Thankyou

Thanks James, for comparing 2 most interesting places - Siem Reap & Pattaya. I would like to get your opinion on differences of women at both cities, from perspective of finding long term relationship. Pattaya is obviously more commercial, however any discussion on women of SR.

I enjoy the cultural aspects and not a drinker or smoker so Siem Reap is better. No judgment we're all adults to choose our lifestyle.

Same here: Alcohol and tobacco are mere expensive poisons. We save a fortune... I also am not into anymore "female"relationships at all. BUT would love a regular deep-tussle massage for the right price. The older I get the less I need or want !
