How can people say that pennywise wasn’t disguised as the librarian?? In the scene, she’s putting a book back and then suddenly stops suddenly, stands up straight, and turns and hunches over as smiles in the camera’s direction.
I would say it's even more obvious than that. That is definitely Pennywise and it's not even the librarian as the disguise....the librarian is actually the one sitting down in the back of the room. She has a yellow dress (shown at 2:07) and we see her as the balloon floats past towards the basement (2:53). That's not a librarian "doing her job" because it's not even the librarian, it's straight up Pennywise just creepin.
I noticed the librarian staring the first time I watched this movie and nearly shit myself. They she stands slightly hunched, eyes piercing even though it’s blurry, it was like an animal watching its prey.
Me too. I saw it in theaters with friends and after the movie I brought up how creepy it was and everyone was like "when did that happen?" It was such an eerie part.
If you go back and watch you'll see that that wasn't even the librarian..The librarian that talks to the chubby boy about having no friends had a white dress and the lady watching had a pink dress
I always knew about the Steven King universe having cosmic horror, but the shear amount of Pennywise sightings in the background really helps illustrate how powerful of a monster IT is.
Watching this AGAIN (worth it) after watching the new video and I think it’s the items in the fish tank (around 10:00 mark) that looks like his hair. Aka not Pennywise walking past the fish tank.
d l i thought he was at the far left with his hands on the fence facing the baseball field. But the more I look at it, it seems to be a regular bystander with a red cap
Lower rated?? What ratings are u checking? Lol. The first one got 86%, that's pretty high. The second only 60-some % but that's not too bad either, and the audience score was like 78% or so. I definitely wouldnt call these "lower rated" personally. Especially since it's so hard to make a truly good horror film these days, like Hereditary or Doctor Sleep.
Penny wise doesn’t see it as just killing them but he sees it as game of predator and prey. He likes to play with his food and watches their every movement for his own enjoyment. A spectacular character created
Pennywise’s subtle background appearances in Chpt 2 just gave this movie a lil boost for me. I still think Chpt. 1 is superior but now I like Chpt 2 a tiny bit more
I've always thought that they must have deleted a scene after Ben flashes back to the scene in the classroom, because it cuts back to Ben as an adult and then...nothing happens. All the other adults get a revisit from Pennywise after their respective flashbacks, so why not Ben?
Also the librarian character made a comment about how young kids need to spend summer outside, and asking Ben if he had any friends. at the time, he was self conscious about that and Pennywise knew it
I put a timer on my TV to automatically turn itself off 1 hour after I sleep. So I wont feel alone when I sleep. Although It may cost me more bills but I think it is worth it.
How is this movie scary? It’s one of the least scary horror movies out there. I watched both movies in the middle of the night and slept perfectly fine.
I’m pretty sure the “pair of shiny eyes” was just the reflection of screws in the wall. You can see them when Georgie run back up with the flashlight in hand, the light briefly goes over them again.
The actress that played Betty Ripsom also played one of Adrian Mellon’s attackers...I am SHOCKED! 😳 How did I NOT notice?! Also in part one they say that when Richie walks into that room with all of those clown dolls you can briefly see Eddie. Maybe that’s why Richie walked in there in the first place. You have to catch it though, Eddie is on the right side of the room.
This is a late comment but the mural you see behind the losers club when they are patching up Ben in the first movie is a reference to another one of Pennywise’s previous massacres, during which a notorious gang was gunned down on the main high street but there were conveniently no witnesses and no one was prosecuted for it. The scene is told in the book and it’s a nice reference to something they couldn’t fit into the movie.
The scene of the leaking cealing and wets the Bev drawing in Bill house, is the exactly mirror when Bev wakes up with the dripping blood in chapter 2. In chapter 1 in the library you can see the painting of a woman carrying a baby near the water well, is the same well in Neilbolt house, and a reference of a cut scene of penny wise attacking the poor woman.
The Chapter 2 Beverly blood drip motif is also, also at the end of Chapter 1 when she’s unconscious on the floor in the “float room” before Pennywise makes her float. I didn’t realize that until I watched both movies again this weekend. Also, I forgot that Pennywise sniffs Beverly in Chapter 1 (same scene) to verify her claim that she is unafraid of him. He turns away in disgusted frustration before Yoda-ing her with his promise, “you will be.”
Among the dolls in the Coffin Room, you can also see both clowns from the stage scene in Chapter One and the one in Chapter Two, both standing next to the Tim Curry incarnation of Pennywise.
I don’t know if this is me overthinking things, but calling back to the tv show constantly being played, its weird that the show seems to be a children’s tv program, but every time it’s seen in the movie, it’s being watched by adults.
The picture you used for Maturin was actually Atuin... The Turtle which holds on its back four elephants which in turn hold the Discworld. You know from the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels.
While it does not really come across in the movies Derry is pretty much pennywise i believe the town gets pretty much flattened once he's done for good , basically Derry is It's livestock Pen it lures in adults which breed and at the same time draws out the most despicable qualitys of the populace which in turn nurtures Fear in the children which makes them Tasty little Snacks for Pennywise and occasionally an Adult is fine too
@3:18 while you circle the blurred IT in background, I can't help but point out the very interesting pose of the front foremost shorter girl holding basket of eggs, just to the left of center taller girl. Her hands seem to be more in the shape of holding a ball, or, ehm, a Pennywise head. Big white space for his forehead below her puffy tassel around neck, then two grey shadows for eyes, and the nose forms just above her thumb. Or...it's just "cloud animals". 😁

16:33 I'm watching this and just now realizing that the mural is depicting the aftermath of the Bradley Gang shootout from the book. That's a great detail.
In the second movie when Ben is on a Skype call with his office. The man he is talking to is the original Ben character from the first movie as well if anyone noticed that too
At 6:35 I think this a stereogram. One of those illusions that you have to blur your eyes and pull back slow in order to see it. I thought I saw the shape of a head large enough to be Pennywise.
i have a white cat with dark rings around her yellow colored eyes so i called her pennywise! It fits as she got one heck of a temper! always hissing at everyone here lol
Also! In the carnival funhouse, you can hear Tim Curry’s laughter playing over the music! And the person who hands Richie his funeral flyer isn’t just any person, it’s Adrian Mellon, the young gay man who was hate crimed and then eaten by It at the start of the movie.
Pennywise is pretty much a God. In the books he feeds off fear. Death is just secondary. I mean, without death, there would be really no fear. BTW, King's universe is fucking nuts. Pennywise is an evil God from another dimension. The good God is a big turtle that could bitch slap Pennywise if he wanted to. Pennywise knows this so does not try to overreach. Turtle God does not care about a few humans dying. The way King describes it, I do not think the Turtle God would care if all humans died.
The librarian is clearly Pennywise. As soon as he sees the first sign of Pennywise in the book, she turns and faces him; only to be seen closer still next time she's in frame. Standing, unmoving and smiling. Clearly not normal behavior.
During the fish tank scene, while everyone is fighting over what the fortunate says... someone does walk behind the tank right before Bev shows the final piece of the puzzle and hell breaks loose
I think Pennywise walks behind the fish tank twice. Once above Bev's shoulder and the other underneath one of the floating heads (which is the one I think most resembles his figure)
"Once Pennywise has his eyes on you, it's very difficult to get away" ...unless you're a main character in which case he gives you plenty of opportunity to get away.
You again forgot the clown figurine at the bar back at the hotel. It changes from a Unicorn to a clown in different shots when they were discussing the plan.
In IT Chapter 1, when Henry Bowers is trying to kill mike after killing his father, the blood patterned on his face, is the same design as Pennywise’s red makeup, he also smiled the same, I think Pennywise was controlling Henry
The Turtle in the book is what helped the losers club defeat Pennywise, he told them “thrust his fist against the post, and still insist he sees the ghost”, but when they returned as adults, the turtle had died.
Man as a kid at the state fair I freaked out for a second and slammed right into one of the panes of glass (fiber glass, idk?), my parents were just standing out front watching, I think they laughed lol. about Losers able to leave Derry... That's why Mike never left. He decided to stay as a guardian of Derry, to watch if IT returns again.
The kid who attacks the gay couple at the beginning of the movie looks like he has the dead lights on his forehead, disguised as spots. Interesting detail.
Yeah, it was Adrien. It's 'cause Pennywise is taunting Richie about knowing his "secret," that he's gay. And Adrien was a gay man, that's why he died. God, the details in these movies lol
The librarian, I believe, was the easiest to notice - in my opinion. Honestly, I couldn’t take my eyes off her, once I realized she/it was very clearly an ominous character.
It looks like she's mime-ing pulling herself over on a rope, that's so absurd it wouldn't surprise me if it happened in the *scary movie* franchise instead of here.

“And you better hide that big-ass forehead!”
- Luke Hobbs / Dwayne Johnson
😂😂😂
That line was actually improvised
I've watched a few other people point out where he is in the movie, but a few minutes in and you've already got a few that they didn't. Well done.
Ey thank you that means a lot, thanks for the kind words
The kid who attacks the gay couple at the beginning of the movie looks like he has the dead lights on his forehead, disguised as spots. Interesting detail.
Milky you know what, it looks like you are onto something
Dang I think you're right!
lol that's a real stretch mate...
Yeah it does look that a little
I saw that too XD
You missed one. In the library scene before Mike gets attacked. The fire on the building spells it.
Please elaborate..

See? This is why I’m scared of the dark.
Same.
It’s not that I’m scared of the dark, I’m scared of what might be in the dark
@@bunny_apparently exactly
Then dont watch it 1 or you will have nightmares
I’m not scared of the dark, I’m scared of what’s in it
idk but for me the guy that handed the paper to richie looks kinda like the first guy that died in the begining
He is it’s Adrian
Yeh it is
you think it is
Yeah, it was Adrien. It's 'cause Pennywise is taunting Richie about knowing his "secret," that he's gay. And Adrien was a gay man, that's why he died. God, the details in these movies lol
Lara Bulek that’s because it is
The librarian, I believe, was the easiest to notice - in my opinion. Honestly, I couldn’t take my eyes off her, once I realized she/it was very clearly an ominous character.

i know it’s supposed to be scary but i can’t stop laughing at the old lady 😂
Now it makes me laugh. Thanks
It looks like she's mime-ing pulling herself over on a rope, that's so absurd it wouldn't surprise me if it happened in the *scary movie* franchise instead of here.
