    /* ---- VIDEO INFORMATION ---- */
I have watched Avengers: Endgame an INSANE Amount of times.
Whether it’s the way it closes out the saga or just the nice little callbacks in the movie, something keeps calling me back.
I’m currently in the middle of making a big watching order video for all the Marvel properties and over the last eight months I’ve watched everything that falls under the umbrella. Whether it’s Agent Carter, Agents Of Shield, Cloak and Dagger, Daredevil or the movies themselves, chances are, you name it, I’ve watched it.
With all this info stuffed in my head I’ve noticed some crazy details in Avengers: Endgame and throughout this video I’m gonna be breaking down some of the best things that most people have missed.
    Infinity War Details
Ok so one of the best things about Infinity War and Endgame as a whole is that the latter pays off so many minor things in former that the Russo Brother’s should be applauded for their sheer amount of attention to detail.
Both movies were filmed back to back but even so there are still some tiny little self-referential things that show not only character detail but also add to the world building.
When talking to Doctor Strange, Tony Stark and Wong, Bruce Banner is surprised to learn that Ben and Jerry’s have named an ice cream flavour after him. This gets a big followup in Endgame when we can see Hulk eating it during the planning stages of the time heist.
Also in Infinity War, Tony uses a nanotech shield to cover himself from an attack by Thanos. This severely depletes his supply of the microscopic machines and leads to him being almost killed by the Mad Titan.
In order make sure this doesn’t happen again, in Endgame, Stark instead uses an Energy shield as protection which won’t put a drain on his armour.

Clearly he has learned from his mistakes and he’s not the only one either.
Throughout Infinity War after Thanos manages to get his hands on two Infinity Stones, he removes his armour, believing he is now invincible. However at the end of the movie the character is almost killed by Thor and thus when he makes his attack at the end of Endgame, the younger version of the character realises that it’s probably sensible to keep his armour on.
Everytime Thor attacks the villain in the film he goes for the head. This was of course set up in Avengers: Infinity War when due to his need to gloat he went for his chest rather than an instant killing blow. Because of this Thanos was able to wipe out half of all life within the Galaxy and retreat to the garden.
In Endgame he’s here to kill him properly this time and from their first meeting, all the way until the final battle, everytime Thor clashes with the character he aims directly for his head.
During this fight, we watch the awesome moment in which Captain America lifts Mjlnoir and gains the power of Thor. As Thanos cannot lift the item he instead grabs Cap’s wrists rather than the hammer itself.
Cap’s armour has scales on it and you can actually see these under the upper layer of his outfit in Infinity War. These scales first made an appearance in Black Panther and could show that after dropping of Bucky in Wakanda, Shuri gave him some upgrades.
Earlier in the film The Hulkbuster grabs Thanos and you can see that the left arm on the armor is unpainted.
    Age Of Ultron
Thanos also breaks Cap’s shield similar to the way that it was destroyed in Tony Stark’s vision all the way back in Age Of Ultron.

Usually how it works out. You listen to the honest directors talk about their films after the fact and most of the conclusions people draw weren't pre-baked into the movie. That can be fun in some cases, eye-rolling in others. I like how the MCU made it to the end in mostly one piece though. • @silasgreaves6134
      @silasgreaves6134 4 роки тому +21

@@aydenmcgonigal4081 It's not a stretch, and nor is it only a joke, I remember hearing this fact from Fact Fiend. When an Actor plays a role for multiple years as RDJ did for Tony Stark, the studio makes sure to take a lot of reference footage of how an actor looked back when so that CGI or makeup etc. can be put over their face so they look exactly as they did in previous films (because just because five years pass between the release of one movie and the next, doesn't mean the same amount of time has passed in the movie's chronology. It could take place immediately after and so the actor needs to look the same). Or if they wanted to De-age a character to be even younger, they can use reference footage from even further back like they did for Tony to look like a Teen in that one scene about his "therapeutic pet project"
But the Studio, has NEVER taken reference of Paul Rudd. Because Paul Rudd looks exactly the same as he did 20 years ago, it's quite literally unnecessary to have any reference footage of him because he hasn't changed. Jokes on set were that Paul Rudd was immortal, or has a painting of himself somewhere in the world that ages when he doesn't, or he drinks blood / the lifeforce of others to maintain his youth.
So the whole time dilation thing, that sees Ant Man not aging at all whereas characters like Tony start to have grey hair and show their age, is actually probably a legitimate nod to this weird fact. Here's the link to the video:

You guys forgot that when Tony sacrifice himself and Spiderman was there it was actually a reference to when wolverine sacrificed himself to save the kids in Logan and his daughter was there holding him as he died, thus revealing that wolverine has actually been in the MCU this whole time in the form of Iron Man (who by the way clearly played Halo considering he used an energy sword against thanos)

    In Avengers:
Steve says to Tony, “you’re not the type to make a sacrifice”.
Tony says to Steve, “everything special about you came out of a bottle”.
In the end, Steve lifted Mjolnir and Tony died for everyone else. Turns out they were both wrong.

Brilliant, brilliant point. And we see this in both their first movies, Tony Stark willing to sacrifice his war profiteering company to pursue world peace, though it was especially the noble, virtuous character of Steve Rogers before his transformation via a bottle into Captain America that was special, and remained special afterwards. Dr. Abraham Erskine: "...But more important, the man. The serum amplifies everything that is inside. So, good becomes great. Bad becomes worse. This is why you were chosen. Because a strong man, who has known power all his life, will lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows compassion...Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are. Not a perfect soldier, but a good man."

After Nat dies and the remaining five original avengers talk, they resemble the five stages of grief:
Thor is denial. He asks why they are acting like she’s dead, he believes they can bring her back.
Hulk is anger. He throws a bench into the lake.
Clint is bargaining. He keeps saying how he should’ve been the one to jump and it’s his fault.
Steve is depression. He’s the only one crying.
Tony is acceptance. He knows they can’t change it and just tries to move forward, asks if she had any family.

I don't say it to be heartless, because she is one of my favorite characters, but she didn't have a family, she couldn't have children, and she was deliberately hard to get close to. She was the most alone of any of the avengers. She didn't deserve to die, but out of the avengers, she was the one who would hurt the least.

Tony (Denial) walked away because he got lucky and didn't lose his family. He turned his back on the world and was living a peaceful happy life with wife and kid
    Clint (Anger) - pretty obvious.
Steve & Natasha (Bargaining) - they refused to move on and even 5 years later, when the most unlikely option arose of time travel, they jumped at it.
Thor (Depression) - again, pretty obvious with the weight gain, drinking, mood swings.
Hulk (Acceptance) - the only one who worked on bettering himself following the tragedy, accepting everything that had happened.

All you need to know that people didn't disappear in order of age is the post credits scene for Infinity War, there is no way that Maria Hill is older than Nick Fury. The only reason Peter disappeared so slowly is because everyone involved in filming the scene felt it needed a more emotional punch, so they drug it out. This is my personal favorite (and I could be reaching, but here we go):
There are a lot of events in "Infinity War" and "Endgame" that are seemingly foreshadowed in the Wanda Maximoff induced visions in "Age of Ultron":
CAP'S VISION: Peggy asks Steve if he's "ready for our dance" and informs him that "the war's over [ ... ] we can go home". Avengers: Endgame ends with Cap returning home to the past, after having fought the war against Thanos, and dancing with Peggy.
THOR'S VISION: Heimdel tells Thor that his eyes "see you leading us to Hel!" When Thor protests that he can "still save you", Heimdel replies "we are all dead!". "Avengers: Infinity War" begins with a ship full of Asgardian refugees (captained by Thor) being destroyed by Thanos. Heimdel is among those killed.
BLACK WIDOW'S VISION: There's a scene that begins with Black Widow throwing a fight, and Madam B. calling her sloppy. Madam B. and Black Widow have then have this exchange "The ceremony is necessary, for you to take your place in the world", "I have no place in the world", "Exactly". In "Avengers: Endgame" Natasha takes part in a "necessary ceremony" to retrieve the Soul Stone. She wins her fight against Hawkeye and dies, taking her place in the world.
TONY STARK'S VISION: He comes upon the other five Avengers dying/dead on Sanctuary while one of Thanos' ships travel through a portal toward earth. It's possible that this event took place off screen in "Avengers: Endgame", in between the arrival of Young-Nebula and Young-Thanos into the post-snap time-line. This would mean that Tony is witnessing the deaths of the Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America native to Young Thanos' Timeline.

Your comments on Tony's vision show you don't understand how timelines work in Endgame.
Tony's vision wasn't meant to be seen as literal it was a construct of his own fears. Everyone would die, and it would be at the hands of aliens... of which he had seen only one invading horde. The Avengers he saw were not from an alternate timeline because the 2014 that Thanos came from was a part of the same timeline that lead through into Endgame. He hadn't been to earth, he didn't have any stones, and he was still waiting so that he wouldn't arouse suspicion from beings who could easily stop him if he jumped the gun.
His jump to the future created a new timeline where he suddenly disappeared. If he hadn't it would have been exactly the same timeline we watched through 22 movies.
When he travelled forward in time he was hoping to succeed quicker. Infinity war Thanos won because he put in the work to achieve his goal. Endgame past Thanos didn't while the avengers did.

i argue that the reason his suit is able to shield him from the stones is that because the power source driving the suit was a synthetic version of the the infinity stones. This is often overlooked part of the storyline. But when Howard Stark obtained the tesseract, they characterized its properties. They just couldn't replicate it at the time, so Howard then left the molecular structure of the Tesseract (the shell, not the infinity stone inside) for Tony, which is what he later synthesized in Iron Man 2.
My theory then come a bit clouded because it's hard to say whether that molecular structure (which confined an infinity stone as the Tesseract) of his power core was able to shield him from the radiative properties of weilding the 5 stones, or if the radiative properties of the power core which were similar to the infinity stones, over the years, built up a 'tolerance' to the radiative properties of the legitimate Infinity Stones and thus let him survive a bit longer.

It goes even farther than that because if you remember when Steve said, “You won’t lay on the wire when the time comes.” Tony says, “I would find a way to cut the wire.” Skip ahead to Endgame and Strange tells Tony, “If I tell you what has to happen, it might not happen.” In all the times when Tony know what had to happen he tried to find some other way which is why it is only at the end when he realizes the only way is for him to sacrifice himself that Strange final,t signals that yes this is their one chance.
Even more in that same exchange Tony told Steve, “Everything special about you came out of a bottle.” As the Dr. Erskine said the treatment didn’t just make people stronger it made them “more” of what they already were, and Steve of course proves there was something inherently better about him by being worthy to lift Mjolnir when it counted.
This is really one of my favorite parts of the MCU because Tony and Steve both proved they were better than either thought the other.

In fact you see the ash they turn into continue to break down into smaller and smaller component pieces.
Also ash floating around in the atmosphere of the planets with life would have caused a cascade effect whereby all life would die. Less sunlight means less plant matter which would lead to less oxygen and less food for herbivores which would, in turn, means less food for carnivores. What no one notices, is in The Avengers, when Thor struck Cap’s shield... Cap stood his ground, and Thor went flying back from the resulting blast.
I suspect that’s not because Vibranium absorbs vibration, but because Mjolnir recognized that Cap was worthy. That why Mjolnir stopped and Thor’s momentum didn’t pulverize Cap into the ground.
Though Mjolnir should have been an unstoppable force coming down, and likely would have been against anyone else... Cap became the immovable object because he was ALWAYS worthy, and not just because of something that happened between The Avengers and AoU.

Captain was not behind the Shield when the hammer struck it in mid air, yet the result was the same. No it did not. The writing was so bad that they had to use time-travell to solve it. There is literally no tension left in the MCU anymore. You can go back in the past as much as you'd please and retrieve pym particles and go back to the past as you please, get the infinite Stones, deal with whatever the problems is, undo characters dying etc... Therefore, there is no threat left in the MCU unless the antagonist also has access to pym particles.
Oh, remember how the previous time-stone owner claimed that the universe itself would cease to function without the infinity stones? The main MCU timeline is therefore screwed since Thanos destroyed the stones, but nobody seems to care about that.
Remember how Thor developed in Ragnarok to understand that he was the God of lightning, the hammer was actually not needed? All of that was thrown away in Infinity war, the very movie that Ragnarok set up.
Remember how Thanos was all about balance in IW? turned into generic "destroy everything villain" by the end of Endgame. But even then, he was not about balance. Gamora was the ONLY survivor of her planet in GOTG, yet Thanos claims that her planet thrived after the killed half the population. Thanos did not kill half of the asgardians, he killed seemingly everybody on the ship. He did not kill half of the dwarfs, he killed all but one of them.
For some reason, a physical hammer is enough to overpower the combined might of the stones that can reshape reality.
Remember how Captain Marvel was able to overpower a Thanos who had ALL STONES, like seriously.
Remember how Hulks greatest character development happened entirely off-screen?
Remember how the soul stone could only be retrieved by sacrificing what you love the most in Infinity war, yet Clint and Natasha fight over sacrifcing themselves (they don't love themselves the most).
It's a clusterfuck of cheap shock value and breaking the established rules of the universe. It's a decent watch on the cinema, but it's incredibly flawed.
" its the first of its kind."
Yes and no. The DCAU did it on smaller scale years ago, and the animated justice league is far superior to the MCU.

Here's my theory. Bit of a stretch, but here we go...
It's flawed, yes, but it also makes sense that Thanos never realised this. Previously, when he destroys half the population on planets (like Gamora's home planet) he would kill the people directly because he didn't have access to the stones. In IW, he says to Gamora that since then her home planet has seen "nothing but clear skies and full bellies" which would lead him to think that his idea would still make sense with the stones. Whilst he knows about the power of the stones, he may not have thought about the fact that he depleted food as well (although not all food is meat, he may have messed up the food chain).
This could also be why the loss hits harder for the people on Earth as opposed to Gamora's home planet which prospered. Trying to explain this logic to the Mad Titan probably would have caused him to seek complete destruction instead, which we see in Endgame.
