The RISKIEST Strategy In Track Racing - Elimination Racing at The San Diego Velodrome

- This is the elimination race from the opening night of Tuesday Night Racing at the San Diego Velodrome. This track race is the style of racing where each lap one person is pulled from the field based on position. The last rider to cross the line is eliminated and this continues until the final lap when a winner is crowned.
There are quite a few strategies you can implement in a race like this. You can ride the front and tempo set as Max Haggard does in this video. You can ride red just outside the pole lane as I'm doing for a large portion of the race, or you can play the devil at the back of the race and repeatedly sprint around the last rider in the pack.
Playing the devil is a very risky strategy if you run out of gas or don't have room to get up and over the top of the rest of the peloton or field that's in the race. Elimination racing is perhaps the most fun track race that's part of a traditional omnium and probably the one that requires the most strategy and brains in any particular evening.
I hope you enjoyed this video!
