Last weekend Zz, Snook Master & I made the trip down deeppp south, in fact almost to the southern most tip of Trinidad and Tobago. This trip took us just about 2.5 hours. Our initial plan for the day was to target some Snook & Tarpon on artificials, but that did not work out as expected. Nonetheless, we got permission to go on to a famous jetty to fish as a back up plan.
Upon arrival, there were huge schools of bait fish all around the jetty. One throw of the cast net and we were loaded up with bait.
Using this bait on various rigs on very light tackle, we ended up catching quite a few fish, nothing of any significant size, but some just big enough to keep...Zz enjoys frying them whole.
All in all, it was a pretty fun adventure down south and we had a great time meeting everyone else fishing on the jetty. Some of them caught some really nice fish!

Just to note guys, permission is required to fish on the Jetty and only a limited amount of people are allowed to fish at any time. We got access through a mutual friend on that day.

I have been fishing here for years.Was there that morning( in the background. )The bite was crazy earlier that morning.That said the fishing this year on the jetty has not been as good as in previous years. Drag nets and overfishing may be the contributing factors.

Guess the swamp didn't have anything eh? Went on the jetty with my daughter and nephew next day, boy only catfish and rays and one or two salmon. My daughter managed to pull up a 12inch cro cro and a nice size melrich though. Bro I always on that jetty once I get the time and clearance. Would be awesome to run into you guys there one day, i'll definitely get some tips from d pros!
Lol...We good a few tarpon...But no snook....And nice man! Father/Daughter fishing time is always a great experience! Can't beat it! That jetty is a great place to do some fun fishing!
