A few weeks after catching my first ever Snook in the Surf at Maracas Beach, I made another mission with one thing in mind...To see if it was a Fluke or if there really were snook in the surf!
I started off with a big swim bait aiming for bigger fish, but no luck. I then scaled down to a smaller 3.5" paddle tail and after about 20 mins of casting, I finally hooked up! After catching that one I decided to soldier on with the paddle tail, eventually hooking and losing the biggest one soo far...
I then switched up to the ever reliable spoon...Lost a couple fish, then landed a really nice jack crevalle (cavali) to end things off.

Nice 👍. I was there about 2 weeks ago... hundreds of fish (dont know what kind) swimming right where everybody bathing. I tried every lure I had in my tackle box, and I ent catch nuttin! 😫 I jus sour when it comes to fishing....
Get the D.O.A Cals swim baits and the spoon Kos M advertising, you sure to catch something..
Maybe it was mullet swimming around?!? They don't take line...So give it a try again...Get a couple spoons and keep casting! Must catch a couple! Don't give up! Keep Fishing! Fish On!

@@KoSMTT Balandra dont have sea weed. I was there recently. Dont know for toco but balandra aint have none yet which means toco shouldnt have. I would like to see you try salybia river bro when you make your trip.
Thanks for the info bro...You fished in Balandra? I will try Salybia river for sure! Last time I went there though, there were a lot of people bathing, kayaking etc in the river...That may have the fish quite shy!
@@KoSMTT Usually during the week is the best times to try these spots. There is no activities taking place. A suggestion, you can rent a kayak and paddle up the river. It supposed to have bigger size game up there.
@@KoSMTT Yes I fish in balandra but not on balandra bay. I fish on the rocks a little higher up from balandra in a village known as Rampanalgas.

I like your fishing videos....couple questions - why not stand on the pier to your left? Also, have you ever tried a red headed, white bodied super spook? It a top water plug. Snook love it in florida.
Thank you very much! I did try the pier but no luck on that day! I have tried the super spook, mostly caught tarpon with it! Never tried it in the surf...Will have to explore this! Thanks for the tip!

Kos normally ple is throw they line forward i guess with the hope of deeper water, but it appears to me as though you throwing across toward the jetty am i mistaken? because sometimes people is be bathing further out than the jetty and it is be like chest height water. We think deep water means bigger fish what is you view on that.
Hey bro...I throw all over...Front, back, side ways...Cover as much water as possible...But many fish like to hand around in the shallower water, thats why I often through to the side to cover more water in that area...Sometimes the fish are there...Sometimes they are further out...Just have to find them!
@@KoSMTT bro when u using your spoon and other artificial's do you attach your main line directly to the lure or do you have a short leader of like 6 or 8 inches of wire with a swivel for toothy fish and line twist and does it make a difference for you any tip on that pros or cons. or its neither here nor there with you.

Hi kosm today I went maracas we're the jetti is I fished there although didn't catch anything it was nice and relaxing got alot of bites I don't think it was fish I think it was crab because I was feeling it nibling but when I pull to hook it thinking it is a fish it not when I reel in there's nothing but I did caught a crab so and he was a decent size I caught a male one might cook in it
That's just how fishing goes sometimes...At least you had a good time! And I am sure that crab will taste pretty good! Just keep fishing! Fish on!

The spoons usually sell for between $45 - $60....Depending on size and place...Just none available these days..

Does the yo-zuri crystal minnow work as good in the surf as a spoon?
I think the spoon is much better in the surf...The crystal minnow is not the easiest to cast in the wind!
@@KoSMTT but what about the crystal minnows ability to catch fish? Do you hook up as many fish with the crystal minnow as you do with the spoon?
@@fishingwithadrian754 Crystal Minnows are the best hard plastic baits on the market in my opinion. Once you can reach the fish with it, they usually take it. If you have a light enough set up and the wind is not crazy, they can be better than spoons.

Well I have not used it very often....But if you check out Jupiter George's channel on UA-cam, he catches a lot of big snook with it!

Walaikum Asalamm...Get yourself a spoon bait and have some patience when fishing...It's not the easiest fishing, but you never know what you can catch!

You can catch small tarpon with it...Sometimes they are just hard to keep on the line when you hook them with a spoon...

Now that is when you know you have a decent woman at your side just like my wife minus the headband and the long sleeve dut it does be like a shirt sleeve not shorter if I had caught all those fish which is a very good size the only place it's going is in my pot because that's the only big size I ever caught
