when I saw it I thought of an internal rule of Pokemon design I had heard of years ago, that every "cool" or "badass" Pokemon design must have at least one "uncool" feature in order to bring them back down to Earth, for example the little goofy protrusions on the sides of Garchomp's head (I think they're supposed to be reminiscent to the orbitals of a hammerhead shark), an otherwise completely badass looking Pokemon. Even when Poteto becomes an unstoppable, comically muscular superhero, he still has that one little design detail to bring him back down to Earth.
Everything makes a little more sense when you realize that these two are pretty much straight out of high school (from what i understand anyways), one without a home, and one who had to stay inside for 4 years. Makes the very unjust actions a little more justified

OMG IT'S FINALLY OUT OMGGGG I CAN FINALLY WATCH IT AND UNDERSTAND IT HOLY THIS WAS AWESOME I LOVE THE ANIMATION, THE MUSIC IS AMAZING TOO, THIS IS SO GOOD! I LOVE IT SO MUCH The story too.. I loved it so much, the entire conflict was made because of misunderstandment, which led to sad consequences.. Also love how at the end, when Poteto says "I wish for everything to go back to normal" Implies(?) that the entire story repeats(as in the video)
good grief i LOVE this, everything about it is just so me-coded i was touched by this story on a personal level.. whatever it doesn't matter, this feels like a whole movie told in only 10 minutes and it is wonderful all the way through!! from my point of view, Poteto has Naruto's love and ambition to bring his friend back, but with that extra added Tighten treatment from Megamind, he is portrayed as weak and quiet in the starting portion of the film and now from what we're shown after he's got these awesome super powers, Poteto thought his friend wouldn't be so distant from him anymore after being completely cured from his illness. Oktana was the friend Poteto needed, but after going without seeing him in 4 years Oktana would naturally build different interests and find somebody he'd want to spend time with. and i just cannot get over how well everything flows from here- Oktana's words being misinterpreted and overblown by the lonely Poteto who simply wished to be there for his friend, with only just a simple interaction Poteto thought Oktana no longer wanted to be friends, but Poteto went about his way of doing things, being recognized by the whole world, but not his friend... ...i'm rambling again aghhwgshaAHHH I JUST LOVE THIS EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU GUYS DID A FANTASTIC WORK!!! edit: you have single handedly made me a fan of your work, i'm so in love with these characters and world you've created! i can't wait for more to come :]
The real devastating thing is that Oktana does all the things with Bombax that he did with Poteto. Even before Poteto says that Oktana made him angry and caused the stars to fall, Bombax says that Oktana is too dangerous for her liking. Maybe Oktana would have changed, but it seems like he honestly needed Poteto back in his life too. They were both hurt by their separation.

I don't think I have anything bad to say about this, except *possibly* that it wasn't long enough. This was beautiful in so many ways. Artistically, musically, dialog...ically... Anyhow, it's extremely well-done. Big-budget stuff doesn't even match this level of quality. Very well done!

Why does the music fit so perfectly? This film is not a film, its truly art. A film about friendship and betrayal, truly heart-touching. And the humor added in is amazing. Again, this is true art. The mood is perfect.

Absolutely amazing piece of media right here, made me tear up towards the end on my first watch. Just gonna add my two cents to the conversation, in that I believe that everytime POTETO makes a wish, it causes one of the stars to fall. At 3:25 you can actually see the first star falling when the divine being grants his first wish to able to wish for anything. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this yet, but It’s probably my favourite detail story-wise.

Wow, just wow! One of those video's where you get what's happening, but still at the same time you don't. I don't exactly feel like I'm confused, but I'm not sure I could easily retell it accurately either, and I think that's great! It's like a dream that you LOVED that you had, but boy do you not remember it perfectly.
This animation is outstanding, just breathtakingly exceptional. From the music to the sound design to the way the realistic looking backgrounds are incorporated with the cartoonish characters. And my god the STYLE!!! I'm in love with every single frame. This animation deserves an award!
This is one among the best animation I've ever seen. The way scenery and the animation mix together to create a world that feels truly grounded, while at the same time having the general movements and certain moments adhere to a more cartoonish manner that adds a pop of wonderful artistic expression and humor. And the music Wow its so groovy the drums and just general outline of it all is so so so good. the way it manages to just perfectly hit every story beat is so yummy. The anthromorphic characters also add a beautiful way of expression thru "symbolism" that more "human" looking animated characters would find hard to replicate without tilting the fine balance of expression and the canny valley effect. my favorite scenes that give me this feeling of it being grounded are the like between 2:20-2:29, 5:00-5:12 and 4:04-4:45. 11/10 love it
The entire film is so special. I've never seem any films like this. I don't know if this is Indonesia style. But this looks so innovative and fresh to me. I'd like to see more like this.
I am amazed. This rivals a lot of animation work I've seen in my lifetime, and it feels completely authentic in being itself -- feelings and all. The designs are immediately recognisable and memorable. I love the expressiveness in the animations and the real voice acting. Funnily enough, the different qualities of the microphones and speaking styles manage to blend in perfectly with the characters. I only wish I could speak Indonesian now to be able to say all of that properly. Wonderful work!

At first I had no idea what was going on. Near the end everything made sense. Super cool story, and animation. I didn't understand anything they were saying but the subtitles helped.

I genuinely fucking love this! What makes this short film feel so unique to me is the everpresent soundtrack, which is incredible btw, with the fast moving visuals, creating such a fresh and light feeling to it. Also I love the goofy but very self serious premise, wonderful!!!
