Social media is what you make it. If you open up your feed and it's full of assholes, it's you keeping those assholes around.
I have gone crazy with those hot mods, I have bought 7 now, and they really do work wonders. Recently, I was in Japan working, and I met a guy who built pedals. I told him about Mr. scary mod, and 2 weeks later, he built a pedal you put in your FX loop and kinda does the same. He has a Vox AC30, and the pedal (from what I understand) has a sustain compressor that you can adjust mixed with a saturation function and a presence and resonance. I could not believe I was able to get a metal sound out of an AC30. It had such a different character, too What a typical tight metal sound has. But in a great way. I wanted to pay him for it, but he just gave it to me. I have been trying it out on everything.

I understand what people are getting at about the spamming. I started a facebook group regarding a Helix Tutorial. It was clearly stated in rules that the group was clearly a tutorial group. It was a area where people could come to share their methods of programming, ask questions and help each other learn better ways to use the helix. I clearly stated the look at me videos of playing without either explaining how they got the tone or doing it as a teaching video was strictly forbidden. It was also forbidden to sell anything in the group. I would constantly delete those videos that violated the rules. People really appreciated it. My reason for people was that are plenty of other groups on facebook to post that other stuff. This group was just to help each other out. But on other groups i do like the youtube links to things I enjoy. So if it states in the group rules something regarding this and you violate the rules then I get it but if it doesnt then people have nothing to complain about. If you dont like it start your own group.

Good and level-headed response, I can understand where you're coming from but I hope you can also understand how some of those people in the groups might see things more in the way I phrased the original comment. Say if it's just you posting your videos in a group somewhere, that's not a problem, but I've seen in groups on other platforms where there isn't some kind of moderation policy about self-promotion and it can really kill inside interactions in a group when it's flooded with a lot of outside content that doesn't lead to any kind of exchange or discussion there. Know what I mean?
My pleasure, I really appreciated the opportunity to respond. And I totally get where you're coming from as well. I have seen several UA-camrs go on Facebook groups and just post stuff like "hey guys, here's a link to my channel. Come on over and subscribe." That kind of stuff drives me nuts.
@@TONEWARSgearshow Exactly, that's pretty common. I have no idea what happened in the facebook group you guys are referring to but I understand the general policy of not allowing people to do that, and really we have that kind of poster to thank for ruining things for everybody.

Most if not all of the digital modelers sound great. Especially with the effort.
What’s more important I feel in a decision making process are the options the unit offers.
Whatever anyone uses and makes them happy works. Next step for the user is stop tone chasing and get back to play.
On a separate note I trust your opinions more than most. You do a great job with your reviews and opinions.

I made a video about that about a year ago. I honestly think people should just find a few tones that they like and start playing, practicing and writing. That would make us all more productive and honestly, a lot happier LOL

Hey man, I'm German and I've never used a smoker before, only regular charcoal or gas BBQ.. what does it taste like? Is it a big difference?
Thanks for commenting. It is an absolutely enormous difference in flavor and texture when you smoke meats. You get this amazing bark on the outside, and the meat on the inside is tender and juicy and so full of flavor. It's really worth the time and effort. I usually just put the meat in before I go to bed and when I wake up it's almost done. I hope you give it a try, once you do, you'll never look back. I can't imagine my life without having a smoker now

Honestly as a new guitar player i rely on good channels and certain youtubers that ive come to trust when im looking for gear and information on setting something up or how to use the 4 cable method for example. Without these videos buy certain guys or ladies on youtube help me out alot and give me a better idea on if i want to buy a piece of gear or product and its great to have options that offer a different look and advice to make an informed choice. Idk sorry to rant but i find this and many other channels entertaining and useful.

To me people who are doing gear demos and posting links is a very positive experience. To me spamming is more like the alien fingers dude posting daily in every group. His speed means nothing playing new incoherent solos every day like it sounds any different. I’m willing to bet he had no song or riff writing ability. Again a different video every day in every group. For the people calling gear demos spam there’s way more people who find it interesting and helps people make better decisions instead of going in blind.

I’m about to give up UA-cam, the algorithm is ridiculous these days. I don’t have the time and patience to play the game. It’s not about talent anymore. It used to be about the talent. Not putting that kind of time and energy into doing a video that UA-cam will not promote. The click the bell option ruined UA-cam. It all changed then.
Someone who had 10k subscribers now had to have all of them click the bell to get the videos again. That sucked.
