Ok just got our 2023 Gladiator Rubicon with 37's and 2.5" lift. What trails should we go on and which should we avoid as we want to have fun but also not wreck and body parts...lol
Drummond has recently gone through a “smoothing of trails” so a lot of them have gotten a lot easier. With that said, your rig can do everything on the island. However, I would probably stay out of the tight twisties and the tank trap area. If you do decide to tackle them, stick with the bypass lines.
You have always been respectful while tracking and when we used to work together you always talked about how much you enjoyed it ….. haters gonna hate you keep being you
Red 2 door looks to be running IronMan tires. Budget friendly but when even the least bit wet, they dont grab on anything hard (rock or pavement). Not sure about mud but i just cant run them any more.
Connors crossing can never get above a certain level because of the water run off at the end. Nemesis is a fun trail think we put on over 250 miles while we were there
@michaeldart5522 turtle ridge is fun but it cost a little extra. The upper portion is more rocks and climbs whereas the bottom portion is more wet with wooded trails. I have a few videos about the park as well.
Love Drummond, we go every year for a Fall color / Moonshiner Run but hit labor weekend this year cuz a couple in the group got married on Shale beach.
@@TrailExpeditionyes it turned out to be a great spot , but your absolutely right !! The only reason they pick Labor Day was for scheduling for some of the peeps who came along but like you said it’s way to busy and was 100X’s more traffic then we were use to seeing and a couple of spots where we “or most people” normally stop and hang out for a bit and grab a couple pix of all the rigs there was people actually camping which I thought was kinda rude since it is a regular spot for everyone to stop for a break and such and that’s not even saying anything about the line of rigs waiting to go up/down Marble head. After that experience we’re definitely sticking to our fall run 👍🏻
Agreed! I like having the island to myself without running into a ton of trail traffic. I like to run with small groups of 2-4 rigs. Anything more than that, the pace slows quite a bit.
Drummond is great!! Dont hit the tank traps unless you got something badaxx they have dozed them in last yr or two but there r still some insane holes there
Yeah, I’ve been editing a ton of recent footage and didn’t want to release everything all at once. So I’m staggering the video releases every five days.
@@TrailExpedition wish you rolled this out sooner than later - on the fence about making a go at the island in the next week with some friends, and wouldn't mind having some recent recon on conditions. :-(
@etmccaus right on. Yeah, honestly the conditions haven’t changed much since last year. I have five full videos from last year around the same time that could prove helpful.
Not gonna lie... Heard that squeaking noise.. and I thought it was a critter outside my window while I watched this. LOL. My friends and I just got back this past weekend from up there... Had a blast, but I felt like we didn't do much. Overall pretty dry other than leaving on Sunday.
Yeah that torsion bar was squeaking something fierce! Good to hear you guys had a good time. I bet it was beautiful trail riding with all the color changes.
Causing distruction? You guys? Yeah Right. Going to FB message about upcoming trip if thats ok? Heading to Drummond, have 2 newbies going, 100% newbie other than our local stuff. Actually I'm a little freaked 🤣, wife is driving solo in Warthog.
Right on. Honestly, there is nothing on Drummond that is super difficult. Just stay out of the deep water and you should be good. Have you ever been up there?
@TrailExpedition yep, was there last year for the 1st time with Warthog. This year, taking both of them. I'm not to concerned with the Gladiator it's more about the depth of Logjam and the south Marblehead loop ( where the old car is sitting in the woods). Also heading to Shale Beach for the 1st time, never been that way.
@@WarthogOverland water at log jam was at the bottom of the door/rock rails. Not the shallowest I’ve seen it but not bad. Some of the holes in tight Twisties and tank traps can get deep. Stick test the shady looking ones.
I’ve been recording a lot of content lately and staggering every video five days apart. This Drummond video will be two parts. It’ll be worth the wait!
@@TrailExpedition Yep, if you can find a good used one you can get one for 33k or maybe a new base model when they have 50 of them on the lot. But even then I don't see that happening. At $38k base price, and being a wrangler, they sure don't like to discount them often. Plus I'm always skeptical because 99% of the time people lie out of their *ss about what they really paid. They are however just expensive toys. But fun toys none the less.
@@TrailExpedition Ok, that makes sense now. I really wanted the new 2024 Land Cruiser as they said it would be rugged and have a great price point. The el cheap o bottom of the barrel is still over $50k!!! Mid range is $70k and you can still spend well over $90k on one! What blows me away is people are buying them faster than they can be made! Whare they doing, eating Top Roman? 😂

Right on. Yea they are a budget tire. I remember one trip he was having issues with snow traction.

We love trail running Drummond. Been heading up there every year for the last decade.
@@TrailExpedition Just got back took a long weekend had about 14 of us. So much fun Twisted trails should be rated harder that clay hole is rough😂
@@michaeldart5522 tank traps used to be the hardest trail on the island but now it’s definitely the tight twisties.

Yessir! However, it’s a lot more tame now than it was ten years ago. A lot more bypasses now.
You're really not releasing this for over three weeks?

What half doors are u using on your jk that are painted to match? They look like YJ half doors
They are the Rugged Ridge half doors. I had Dan and the guys at Neeley’s Restoration in Marne Michigan color match them for me.
Why? I don’t have time to wait. Heading up there in a few days.
Tread lightly and you’ll be fine. Have fun!
7:30 y’all quick on it… that song like just dropped on EpidemicSound
Ha! Nice. I had no idea. It was probably suggested to me. Love epidemic sound for all of my videos. Well worth the subscription.

Mu's nemesis is pretty easy in my old axx YJ lolol
Nice! That obstacle definitely depends on how wet or dry it is and the line all the way to the left is definitely the fun line!
