I'm Italian and grew up eating every part of the pig...feet, ears, tails, hocks, kidney, liver and yes even the head my aunt would tell me to go look in the oven I have a surprise....and a couple of pig heads would be looking at me. We were poor and ate whatever my dad could get. He would take young pigeons from the nest and mom cleaned and roasted or made soup. We made red pasta sauce with chicken feet, neck bones and chicken wings. Dad hunted for rabbit and pheasant. Now alot of those things are expensive, I still get chicken hearts and gizzards cheap. Hi. Gunnel from Sweden. I love pigs feet to. In Sweden we put them in salt to preserve them and then we cook them with allspice, onions, carrots and bayleafs untill they fall of the bones. They are not so common to eat nowadays but I try to get some every winter. Next time I will cook them in my new Instant Pot :-)

I’ve had a taste for some pigfeet with potato salad and collards. It’s only my hubby and so I got a few split feet from the market yesterday. I started looking on UA-cam after church this morning for a recipe in my Ninja Foodi (pressure cooker) and came across you. Do pig feet have toe nails on them? If so, how to remove them before cooking?
@Sylvia Goodman Yes, pig’s feet have toes. Although I cook the entire feet, I do no recommend eating the toe nails.😉 Thank you for the question; God bless you.❤️
It's supposed to say chitlins
Awesome recipe.
