Gotta give props to AWA, from losing funding for their second Corvette after only two races to winning the Daytona 24 Hrs in only one year, AND they got a Le Mans invite for winning the GTD Bronze Cup last season.
We love 24 races at my house. Everyone sleeps in the basement and the race is just ON, all the time. Wake up or nap time-race is on….and it was a great race too!

Amazing race. I believe AWA is the first Corvette win for a customer team in IMSA. What a win to be the Daytona 24. Also Tommy Milner has such a nice smile...until you do something to make him really mad to give you the one finger salute at that speed.
@JohnCharb87 kudos to the AWA Team, how about that a real test of team work...they block and delay #4,#3, 36,91 but forgot lonely #13. Surely amazing how the one not considered as a real contenders smacked all the favorite ones!!!huraaaa!!!
I live 20 minutes away from the track. I couldn’t afford to go to the race. So I also couldn’t I afford to pay for the live broadcast. Thank you so much IMSA for your generosity with the excellent replay. Much appreciated. Great race!
An incredible effort from all of the teams and organizers!!! Everyone should be proud of how this event happens every year! Congratulations to all the teams that finished because finishing is a HUGE accomplishment so keep up the momentum and bring the intensity every race as there are many points left for grabs at the remaining races! Congratulations to the winners last but not least!!!🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Great race, only saw the last hour of it live. Vanthoor in the #24 BMW had the speed but got too excited. Cadillacs with some poor luck, they had great drivers and what seemed like good pace. Blomqvist in the #60 Acura was magnificent.
Seriously. I was able to make a vpn work on my phone but getting it on my big tv was impossible. I hate peacock with all my heart, absolute dog water coverage.
It was. You just didn’t want to pay for it…you know, like every other major sporting event they air in the US. Now, if you wanna talk crap about Peacock, different story.
I think its insane that Brazil, a country that largely ignores anything that's not F1, gets not only the official flag-to-flag stream from the IMSA UA-cam channel, but also a national broadcast by Grande Premio as well for free on UA-cam, and yet you guys and most of Europe has to deal with VPNs and subscription services to even have a chance of watching the race.

Really well put together recap guys. I sat up all night to watch the race (in Australia here) only got to bed a dawn, and here I am back to watch recaps at lunch time. What a great excuse not to go out into the blistering heat! Ace race!
Absolutely awesome! For me, Daytona is the second best endurance race in the world after the Nürburgring 24H but also before Le Mans! Can't wait for Sebring too! Greetings from Germany!!!

Porsche had one of the best years last year that I can remember across three or four different racing leagues. Now I just need the WEC and Fanatec to start off just as good as this one. And to pick it up a little bit in GT4 because those Toyota supras are damn good.
An incredible and tense start of the season, enjoyed the race from start to finish! Also the double yellow (fcy) system absolutely works like a charm - true, it takes longer to get racing, but what racing it produces makes the wait worth it.
this was one of the more clean daytonas I've seen (I've only watched 3 including this one) but as an avid endurance watcher I can say the race was quite good racing wise until the midnight madness and then the end was chaos and cinema
BMW is not known for have clean drivers, Kelvin Van der Linda crash into lawson in dtm a few years ago and the story keeps going, the middle finger was awesome lol, really loved the race recap
The blocking of the BMW #48 was definitely dirty, but the damage on the Corvette #4 was just their own fault. Corvette #4 went off the line in T3 into the other BMW #1 at 35:28. And not to mention the, in this video not shown, incident 10 minutes left to go where the same Corvette #4 drives into the back left of the BMW #1 in T1 and basically pit manoeuvres it for a revenge, ironically just after Milner complains about the lack of sportsmanship.
I've been going to this race and the Continental (they don't have it anymore) since 1965, remember the cold morning they rolled out the #2 917 Porsche to battle Ford, Ferrari, Matras, Alfa Romeo... When Giants Raced!
@@matze248 BMW didn't deserve a podium finish after what they did. IMSA should let the aggrieved teams pick which car gets to serve the penalty, as #1 BMW still got to benefit from #48 blocking the Corvette.

A bit off topic. Usually I watch the race by streaming from the IMSA webpage, but this year only streams from a few onboard worked for me. The main stream just showed a black screen. This was watching from Denmark, but I wonder how widespread the issue was? I did listen to the race and some onboard streams, but not nearly as good as being able to watch the main stream.
Not even too long after the race and already a 1h recap.
