    wow, i just found this video and wonder if this recipe is based on your standard recipe with foam added. it just happens i am building a shed and this thing will be very useful in my quest to reduce heat from the roof. thanks in advance, from indonesia 🙏

    basically you are making aircete correct. at least that is what we call it in English. cement and a stable foaming agent that holds the bubbles until the cement sets up and holds its shape. the foaming agent you use is really good. nice tiny bubbles, it is perfect. I think the R value does not work the same way with this aircrete as with the other types of insulation. it is a different animal. the heat just does not get the chance to make its way outside so quickly so it isn't the same thing as rock wool or fiberglass insulation. it is also very noise insulative as well. the perfect product in a tropical country where your neighbour has a lot of rosters making noise all night long and you can't go out and kill them. this way you don't hear them and you don't get a hot house either. I will be using this method in the Philippines when we get back there. I will be using it for infill between the posts in a poll barn construction. I was wondering about the roof and how far I can go between structural metal roof trusses and not have it fall in. how thick did you pour your roof insulation, was it for a place in Russia for a cold climate? my purpose is to keep the heat out and noise out like I already mentioned. how thick do you think I will have to make it. I was also thinking I can pour it onto thin cement boards and suspend them from the roof trusses on the inside of the home. what do you think of that idea? looking forward to your reply.

      To get r value per inch you take the length of an inch in meters and divide by U value. So R= 0.0254/.06=0.42 which is a terrible R value. To meet building code in northern USA you would need a wall 45 inches thick

    • @stretchceilingsDubai
      @stretchceilingsDubai  3 роки тому +1

      @@danjimielson We are not working in the USA. We are working in the country where people don't like rock wool or glass wool and prefer solid buildings. To achieve U-Value 0.34 W/m2*K we use: fiber cement board 9 mm thickness + Light gauge steel profile 200 mm (with insulation 75mm lightweight concrete with 400 kg/m3 density + 50 mm polystyrene with 22 kg/m3 density +75mm lightweight concrete with 400 kg/m3 density) + fiber cement board 9 mm thickness.

      @@billtabbert8632 use a foam that is stable and also make sure that the air pressure is correct to create the foam at the correct weight per litre. you can look at some of the aircrete videos to find out what that is. most of the time I see people providing airpressure at 90psi in order to create the foam at the appropriate volume so you can make a stable aircrete which the guy is making in this video. this 200kg/m3 is perfect for infill between centers in a poll barn construction which I will be doing once I can get back home and start building. after watching this video, I think I will use the foam cement to insulate my roof as well. in a tropical climate this prevents the walls from becoming a thermal mass that only keeps heating your house during the night. just have to find the best foaming agent you can I think there is one called drexil or something like that name. some guys use a dish soap and put something else in there to stabilize the bubbles. that is the thing that you need to do the most stabilize the bubbles so the cement can set up and then you are off to the races.

    It seems this is the only channel that is disclosing a little bit of an industry wide silence on this science of lightweight concrete.
    No! it doesnt use foam, rather it is an additive called aluminium sulphate of which the ratii is about 4% of the cement and lime mix. That is the big question?
    How much or how little of alum does one use.
    I dont know if they add sand, but its the formula which is a well kept secret.
    I'm disclosing this info cause I would like to see more you tubers experimenting and disclosing your results.
    But nonetheless, lets give credit where credit is due. Great videos, however I and many others would love to see a somewhat more detailed video with formulas.
    But then, its all about marketing and the oroducts you guys are trying to promote.
