- Some brand gameplay footage was shared by Hooded Horse to a German game journalism company called Gamester (link down below to the original video) and in it we can see A TON more gameplay from both the campaign side of things but more importantly the BATTLE side of the game as well!
In this video I wanted to do a quick look into the video by Maurice Webber and dive into my impressions of this latest version of the build we've managed to see and how things are looking! Especially on the battle & combat side of the game where we can see a lot of work and effort has been made in these last few months leading up to the big Manor Lords release!
I really hope you enjoyed this video and found it informative. Drop a comment with any thoughts or questions & subscribe for more Manor Lords content, gameplay and news just like this! Thanks for watching!

Manor Lords releases in 18 days and next to S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is my most highly anticipated game of the year. This new gameplay footage from Gamestar shows really great progress towards the polish and refinement that SlavicMagic was hoping to achieve by delaying the release & shows us battles look like they're in a pretty strong place! What do you think? Are you excited to try out Manor Lords when it releases? Let me know in the comments below! Subscribe for more videos just like this!
Polish is a good term here.
Bro 18 days! I can’t believe it’s even happening.
No hate but that none of you noticed the arrows flying through the houses or animals going through the fence.
You should take off your hype glasses and come back down to earth.
I'll wait and see before I buy it. After 1-2 months, after the first patches come out.
If something is hyped too much, it often ends badly (cyberpunk). People already forgot about Cyberpunk 2077 😂
It's funny how some claim that gaming is in a slump right now. I mean maybe if all anyone follows is companies like EA, it might seem so. But I think we are in a pc powerhouse age for the middlestudio game development. I look at the passion going into some games. I'm not worried at all. You all will adore Kenshi 2 when it comes out btw. Expect a great game.
It's funny, most people are comparing this game to Total War, but I am seeing this more like a new and improved Stronghold game, just with less focus on the castle itself.
I Think many see the similiarity in the old school total war combat. There has always been an division between those like more realitistic combat and those that liked grandios battles
ABSOLUTELY THE SAME, I used to love watching my dad play that way back when.
An advanced version of Age Of Empires :)
The settlers is an even closer match. Building up your settlement and then conquer.

Old total war was strategic, new total war is arcade
When the devs have passion for the genre it never fails to impress, especially when the game closing in on 3 million wishlists.
Dev. There’s only 1 guy.
*Devs. Its a long time since the he uses employees for all areas. Its funny how the people still thinking this is made only by one.@@rawpotatofella9654

Manor Lords is one of these few games in my life I look forward to so much, that I am almost paranoid that something might happen to me before I can play it. I am counting the days.
Please, Lord, just a few more days! I'll behave!
Absolutely Im more just worried I wont get free time to play it so Im time budgeting some gaming binges waaaay ahead of time lol
Few more days? Couple more weeks you mean?
@@croonyerzoonyer 2 weeks, 3 days.
That's 17 days. That's "a few days" for an old Millennial like me.
@@p-lemon
Work? Call in sick. Fuck them.
Family? Just leave. Fuck them.
No please don't do the above, but you get the idea. :D
This game is going to dominate.
If I had a pound for everytime i've heard that!
@@bowlock9901lots of games are good.
There are similar games coming out this year that are waiting until the end of summer, so they don't have to compete with ML's projected success. That's how good this game is.
@@croonyerzoonyerOh for sure their are but I've been gaming since 1979 and don't hold my breath for anything anymore.
@@croonyerzoonyermost games are shit
2 things:
I hope this game delivers on its own advertising 🙏
And I hope Slavic magic makes a fortune, not only because it looks like they deserve it, but also because it would give a gifted developer the resources to become a regular creator of great games ❤
And it would be a great message to all the "AAAA" companies that their business model sucks for them and for consumers.
Can't wait I am more hyped then ever no matter what anyone says!
Same! I think about this game way more than I should. As I’m holding my new born child 😅
Don't call it a new Total War, let it be the first Manor Lords.
As a German, it’s funny to see a video of Maurice on this channel. He’s one of the biggest strategy game influencers in Germany. Good research, and that you mentioned him as an Alpha Tester. I believe when he is as excited, we can really look forward to a good game.
Manor Lords already has a huge fanbase here. (Several european historians working together with Slavic Magic on this project e.g. the twitch streamer and UA-camr Copeylius)
Never have I been more excited for a game before. Demo was already so great.
People say this is the next 'total war,' but what I see is a great successor to Lords of the Realm
Your people are starving, my lord.
@@jr8260 more like, "Greatest Noble"
I was thinking the same. Got so many hours out of that game.
Definitely the most similar IMO. Wow - 30 years ago??? Gah, I'm old... how'd that happen???
Lords of the Realm 2 was a borderline masterpiece and so much ahead of its time.
You the Best to support Gamestar with your words. Big Respect form a German
Smaller scale armies are actually reasonable here. Platoon level units is fine for small scale engagement. With formation locking, you can form 3-5 units into a company formation. If the game dev stretch it more, we can lock platoons into a company template formation so we could have larger "units". With that, battles will be approaching the scale of total war games.
Not sure it should even have bigger armies. You're basically a baron, who historically weren't fielding thousands of men. They had a couple dozen to a couple hundred depending on the size of the barony
This has made me feel so much more positive about the game than others have in recent memory like ancient cities that promised so much but delivered so little!
Ultimate General: American Revolution just dropped it's 3.0 Build. We got full Continental campaign, Native allies & Foreign armies, etc.
I'm glad this game is heading forward to it's full release in the summer.
It has an arcade feel, I cannot get into the Ultimate General games for that reason.
Thanks for your video, loved every bit of it!
This looks absolutely insane. Haven't been excited for a game like this in so long.
This look epic man.
im not going to count my chickens before they've hatched , but alot of people have been waiting for a game like this and if it delivers what it promises this is gonna be a very popular game. im looking forward to finding out.
Man I live Gamestar, how small the world is 😊
The mods will go crazy on this
Looking forward to a Lord of the rings Mod
@@ethanrempel5028I saw your comment and came immediately.
I’m sure people will add guns and what not eventually. I would love a napoleon era mod for this. Battles through the trees etc. this game in 1-2 years of mods will be stunning.
Roman empire mod and Lord of the Rings mod
American West mod. Build a boomtown!
Aaa can't wait for this game bro..thanks for the video Termi ❤
Honestly can’t wait
Manor Lords Experience
@@Flow161yes 😎
This is my most anticipated game of the year. I had no idea it would have such an in depth economy and trading system. Not only that, you have to go beyond the basic needs for your people like water and food, also considering religion and clothing and seemingly other aspects.
Oh my... and this is only early access, blows my mind. Once walls will be added to the game, Helm's deep will be created.
Will they add walls ?
@@michelstrogoff3204 Plan is for castle-building to be added at some point, I think.
@@TypdersichderTypnenn yup, that is what I read on manor lords forum, to be added as the time goes, multiplayer is considered too
commenting for the algorithm, nicey one Termy
I can't wait. Looks outstanding
We need a Roman empire mod and Lord of the Rings mod for Manor Lords
dreaming of this since "Lords of the Realm 1"
awesome news!!
Im so hyped for this game, i cant wait
Look amazing. Hope my rig will do it justice
couldn't be more hyped.
this comes out on my birthday best birthday ever
One thing that i would like if they had like already established kingdom you could take control off, in a sense that for example you pick england on the map and they have villages, cities, castles already developed, but you have to go to war with france and continue developing. like actual eu4 or total war
I was already happy with the level of detail demo had to offer. I don’t expect a total war quality of battles, for me battles are just a bonus. I will be mainly focusing on building villages
same. This will be the game of the year
This is going to be a great year for gaming, I think HD2 and ML will be battling in my mind for GOTY for me :)
hyped for this
I haven't been this hyped for a game for along time.... I've got over 1000 hours in stronghold (not including pre-steam) 1000+ hours in age of empires 2 (not including pre-steam) but both of those games didn't perfectly scratch the itch this game appears to scratch, more in depth town building. I can't wait.
Honestly, I would love it if someone took This kind of passion and commitment. Then, combined 4x mechanics (like from Paradox games) and the battles of TW to make a really cool historical strategy game. Or, a really good fantasy strategy game. Maybe even a really nice Western SRPG game!
This game has such great potential. Refining and polishing it in early access could truly turn it into a fantastic game. So many large studios have just dropped the ball at making games in recent years. There are ideas and concepts present in this trailer that exceed aspects of Creative Assembly's Total War Games. CA has barely innovated in years and their games are rife with problems these days and their corporate overlord are just out for money (Clearly the case when 10+ year games cost MORE than most new games). If the game is half as good as i'm hoping i'll be happy to support it.
I'm excited to play it
i keep on reminding people as many seem to forget: its not coming out in 1.0 here in april - its releasing in early acess.
Archer animations look awesome
It does look really good 😊
best year for games in a hot while
Unit cards are beautiful
I love the soundtrack in this game.
SO. EXCITED.
It looks great. I can see this appraoch to be great for an early Bronze age/ city states genre as well.
Can't wait! The way that Total War has gone, we need this.
I share the same opinion about the game, it looks incredible, over achieving the expectations, and they deserve the credit for it!
I'll be thereeeeee
Haven't been excited about much since the release of Crusader Kings 3, and I am super excited for this.
Cant wait for this game. I didnt buy games for years now, as I just have a massive pile of still unplayed older games I have to tackle, but this game will be bought exactly on the 26th
cant wait havent been this hyped since cyberpunk and darktide, i know much different games but still
Bro, If you played kingdom come deliverance you will be totally blown off by this game. I'm pretty sure that Manor lords with became super famous when it comes to medieval games. See you on the battle field brothers💪🏻May God bless us on our path.
Very good video it would be interesting if you can be king in the end game
Already saw the new game play in the gamestar video, but thank you for the update nonetheless. 🎈
Do you have a link for the original video?
Nice
Game looks good, continuing on must build more ISU-152 until 8(the halfway point of 15).[or 7.5]
For a one man work with of course Lawers to support this project this Game is a masterpiece.
Has:
1)Epic and aesthetic Banner carriers and flags with realistic clothing psysics.
2) Heraldry Picture by all means different shield colors patterns and uniforms, Maybe Banners as well later..
3) the massive army marching slowly like they are thousands give more prestige to the power of the force that marches in Battle. So this is +1 cinematic trick for me.
4) amazing animations and combat system that need a bit ehnancement after to look like a real chaos in battle as used to be that Era if there weren't any phalanx and pikes formations.. Like today , hooligans on football clubs they are the same, you know with banners flags emblems of their team etc and you never see a mass on a compelte combat only chaos.
5) tell me you as a reply more nice views to help the mod makers later and encourage also and them and the man that made this to keep improving it ;)
2:05 sheep going crazy :D
Greetings from Germany 👋
My mind was blown when you said it's releasing in a few weeks
*16 days
Hope to see some Crusader King type trait hunting/spouse search and heir positioning.
Their will be no dynasties. It’s not a colony sim.
Awesome video man! Do you know if the maps and regions are randomly generated for each play through? Just wondering about replay-ability
I think they are randomly generated yep 👍
Not sure about the final game. Different maps are definitely planned. Keep in mind this is an EA release. Don’t expect that much content at release. Game will be in EA for at least two more years IMO.
Thanks!
I hope they had mod events like in crusader kings that pops up mid game for example the oldest man in the village died or give a epithet on the most kills in the battle and can be promoted to garrison commander something like that
Brealing my rules concerning preordering and early access for this game
It's a matter of principle. Have game pass too. But will still buy
its a must buy. I already played the early release demo so I feel ok buying this on early access. Already know what im getting for the money paid.
Man do i love single player games. Don’t have to worry about idiotic teammate decisions. Can only blame yourself and learn from the mistakes. Wish more people learned from mistakes and I’d enjoy multiplayer games more
I took the day off of work so i could actually enjoy this game. I have never been more hyped for a game since valheim! I cant wait to see what this grows into.
City Building Mount and Blade!
Yeah Gamestar represent! One of my fav channels for gaming news
I really like the small scale medieval warfare here, makes everything more personal like in mount and blade. But unlike in mount and blade you actually get deep city building managements and roleplay as a true fief owner.
This is like Stronghold, Sim cities and Total War had a beautiful baby
it feels like a medieval Tropico
what would be cool if they could add civ specializations like being able to be sea fairing people or whatnot.
I never became hype for any game except Manor lord, in day one of first trailer before 3 years iam in wait. I wishlist a game in first hour of release on steam. U know this year well be amazing for strategy gamers
Saw arrows flying through houses. Not that game-breaking, but makes one wonder about the quality of collision physics.
This is gonna be indie game of the year!
I wonder if my hardware could handle this game. I hope it does, seema like a great game.
Little typo in your description there mate, it's called GameStar, not Gamester :)
Thanks!
I can't wait to play this game and see how much I suck at micro and macro managing anything really.
Funny things is the ui and the icons mostly look worser than they were in the demo, but of course it doesnt matter if the game will be fun!:)
They don’t look worse. Just many new ones have been added.
The main icons on the bottom middle has been definetly changed from the open beta ones and for the worse in my subjective opinion ofc..@@arminius504
Finally a non total war content from you lol
26 April isn't too far... Thankfully, because I can't take more hype for this
The most polished game ever made with only one person? Wow!
It will release into EA so I highly doubt that. Cut the dev some slack.
This is what Total War must try to be. At least there must be living cities even if campaign would be turn based.
I see three different versions of the military combat. I really want to know what they will be using in-game. The realistic battle fighting, or the total war look or some of the shots that looked in-between. Thought the realistic video shots they have been showing for the past year of the fighting was the direction they were going. Leaves it lacking if that ends up not being the direction they go.
Add another one to the wish list
I want to see a feudal Japan DLC un the future
1:39 the real start...
Just in time 👌
This game only needs community mod support to be one of the best RTS game in the market
The only problem I have withn the battles is the rough/stiffness of the charging
I almost regret being on Holiday til end of the Month :/
I just hope there is a way to play this game where focus is on city building and not so much soldering and battles.
There is ❤️
i hope this has a good balance of combat and city building. I don't want to play a really tedious city builder with barely any combat in it
City building will be mainly what you do. Also at EA Release there won’t be any hostile AI settlements yet so it will be hard to judge what the final balance is going to be
I'm going to wait for mod tools to be released before I pick it up, someone will mod it into Total War eventually.
I hope they add cavalry to this
They will, post EA release.
Unreal engine 4 ey. Should run well with UEVR hopefully
