    If it doesn't taste good, distill it and use for cleaning

    I made the pineapple-love it, apple cider even made lemon and banana-very sweet and also apple/pineapple it is wonderful and yes I used brown sugar. One almost turned to wine. I love the pineapple put it in my salad. I used to cry thinking my Scobys were not growing...but now I wish I had someone to give some too. I now have three(3) Scoby Hotels. I do second fermentation with fresh fruits-mango and blackberry are my favorites, ginger (fantastic), turmeric(really great flavor) love Kombucha and Jun. Leadfarmer73 you should try Tepache--I started and I now love Tepache.🙌🏿 Thank you for teaching us👏🏿

    I made vinegar & just strained them, thanks to your great video. I'm working on kombucha & pineapple tepache. Also canning many other juices & food. Thanks to you pusher Lead, I'm now a food preserving addict; looking for storage space!!! 😂Maybe you can use the bad ones for cleaning?🤗💕

    If you don’t have a Burkey, or Alexapure to filter your water, use a coffee filter to filter the water. Then bring it to a rolling boil for ten minutes. Let it cool down and sit for 24 hours to make sure all the chlorine dissipates before using.

    The persimmons are better suited for dehydrating. I've never grew a Tamopan persimmon. But I can't imagine they ripen any different from other astringent persimmons. You can also freeze persimmons.

    Hi there! Thanks for the warning I am so glad I put those persimmons DOWN at the mkt this morning. But I did pick up the pears to make a vinegarette! I made ACV with you a few months ago which is good 😊. I will try the banana vinegar. If you ever want to try something new. Banana ketchup is amazing! It has ginger & a lil spice in it. It’s a Filipino condiment used on eggplant fritter (Tartang Talong). I’m going to can some.

    Great video!! Now I know how to make apple cider vinegar a different way. I used to grow scobies (aka Kombucha Mushrooms). The scobies are not supposed to have a bad odor. I would not use that elixir if it smelled rotten.

    Citric Acid does give the yeast a fit with trying to kick off, but once the yeast multiplies enough to overpower the citric acid, then it kicks off with a vengeance. The citric acid delays the fermentation process, but it does occur.

    It might have gotten an infection which would cause it to smell and taste that way. It could have tried to turn into wine, what I call "bitter wine,:" somewhere between vinegar and wine. Not sure what would have happened. Kind of new at this fermentation thing. But having fun. I tried to make Jun from scratch and forgot the natural vinegar. But it was interesting. I like to work with sourdough starters, I have done that off and on for years. Thank you for these videos.

    I attempted to make ACV this past February. It started growing mold, I scraped it off. The mold came back again. I don't know what I was doing wrong. I put it in the refrigerator. Then that broke down and all my food spoiled and was thrown in the trash along with the ACV. I have not tried again. Hopefully Lead 73 can help me and I'll try again. 🤷🏾‍♀️🍎🍏

    • @jcchildofYAH
      @jcchildofYAH Рік тому +3

      Hi Joan, if the mold is black or fuzzy white not good so I've learned, but the other could be good & the sugar will eat it up. Putting it in the fridge, I believe stops the fermentation. What type water used, did you used cane sugar, & were you checking it to keep the apples under the fluid?
