In this Keertana Tyagaraja says that Rama saved innumerable devatas and men. Then he asks how he became a burden to Him

(As Koorma, the turtle) You pitied the devatas and rescued them.
(As Krishna) You lifted the Govardana mountain to protect the gopikas (cowherds).
Oh kind hearted Rama, Is it a burden to you to protect Tyagaraja?
In the kriti „Brova bharama‟ - raga Bahudari , Sri Tyagaraja asks whether it is a burden for the Lord -the protector of the Universe - to protect him. This kriti is an ideally suited for the earlier stages of the concert. Dina and
karuna rasas are principal emotions. The phrases „p d n s p‟ „p d n , p m‟, „g m
p m g p m g s‟ are characteristic phrases in this kriti. Its gave identity to the
aga Bahudari. Absence of dhaivata in avarohana gave beautiful effect in this
raga. He started the kriti with characteristic phrase, p d n p , m
bro-- -va-bha.
In the 2nd line of anupallavi, avarohana krama is present. p,s,n,,,pd ns s n p m g m pm g p m g s, gukshini - -yum- - -chu- - - Ko le- - - da - . Pallavi starts with the
madhyasthayi panchama, and ends with madhyasthayi madhyama. Highest
note of the pallavi is tarasthayi gandhara, and lowest note is mandra sthayi
nishada. Anupallavi starts with madhyasthayi dhaivata and ends with
panchama. Anupallavi touches madhyasthayi shadja to tarasthayi panchama .
Charana also starts with panchama and after 2 lines the melody repeats as
anupallavi. It is a beautiful raga and a beautiful kriti. Sancharas extends from
mandrasthayi panchama to tarasthayi panchama.

Meaning Gist :-
Oh Karunaakaraa (a name for Vishnu), is it a heavy burden for you to protect a single soul like me? You are the whole universe itself and as Krishna showed it all to be in your stomach. Have you not lovingly borne for the sake of the Devas the whole weight of Mount Mandara when the ocean was churned, and have you not lifted Mount Govardhan for the sake of Gopis?

Yet another raga that is devoid of the Rishabha is Bahudari. It is unique, attractive, and the road less taken. The Aarohana-Avarohana of this raga is SGMPDNS / SNPMGS. The notes that feature in this raga are Sadja, Antara Gandhara, Suddha Madhyama, Pancama, Chatusruti Dhaivata, and Kaisiki Nishada. Bahudari conveys jubilation and positivity.
The signature piece in Bahudari in classical music is ‘Brova Barama’ by Tyagaraja. This song has been sung by Yesudas and used by Ilaiyaraaja in the Sivaji-starrer Kavari Maan. The phrase ‘DNPMG’ is most suited for this raga and Tyagaraja opens this well-loved piece with it.
Bahudari songs are very hard to find in mainstream film music. However, a Bahudari-based song that has come out in recent times is ‘Aha Kaadhal’ from Moondru Per Moondru Kaadhal, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Starting at the Gandhara, the tune descends into the depths of the Nishada in ‘Konji Konji Pesudhe’, with the phrase ‘PMGSNSMG’ providing a suitable connect. The violin solo in the interlude is heart-warming.

I admire the music rendered by Ganakalarathar Madurai Sri Mani Iyer. He is a class of his own and great. I heard quite a number of his concerts in Mayavaram in those days and I remain as one of his fans. For ever. - "Manian".

In the 1960 s when there was no TV I used to download MMIyer's concerts from radio to cassette recorder In this particular song I used to admire the swaravistaram "pa nee dha dha "which I used to rewind and replay More than the music Iyer's mannerisms were enjoyable Unfortunately all my audio cassettes were destroyed by an enemy also cassette recorders have become obsolete Now it is a boon to hear his concerts In this download the " Alapanai is missing wherein more of Iyer's. mannerisms would be available thanks

Madurai Mani Iyer used perform concert during the Marghazhi Festival in . Suchindrum The concert will start @ 4.30 PM . The people will from the neighbouring villages will come, and the crowd will be full in front of him amounting to min 1000, and the balance will be spread over the entire four streets of Sunchindrum . The concert will be over by 9.30 in the night . Even the regular procession of the deities will be delayed by half an hour. Happy to say the Akkarai Sisters parents are from this village . Great musician .
