The technique of using filter bags with different substrate is thoroughly used by MD FISH TANKS, he also uses substrate by this method,so that he can reuse the substrate whenever he needed without spoiling it. And also awesome work sir.. Wishing more to come in future..
I've been following your wonderful videos for a while, though I just remembered to subscribe :D. I came across you from Mayur Dev's channel and found your work on native species and fell in love with them. BTW, I've been using a dirted substrate for a year now and have had wonderful results (following Father Fish's method). I just had the question about it. Did you ever try a dirted tank? I'd love to hear your opinion on it in a video!
First thanks for your appreciation of our efforts and subscribing to our channel. Yes I have tried out "dirted" tanks at the very beginning of this hobby some 20 years back. I was inspired by Diana Walstad. I used potting soil and coarse sand and later on laterite. I will surely try to share my experience as requested
Very beautiful and serene aquascape Gautam Da. Request you to kindly share the list of plants used here. Does this aquarium have a CO2 set up too? The plant growth over a 5 month period is amazing.
Yes it uses CO2 and temperature is also controlled. The plant used are: 1) Glossostigma elationoides 2) Echinodorus variety 3) Java Ferns 4) Different mosses 5) Cryptocoryene wendtill green 6) Rotala wallichi 7) Myrophyllum matogrossens 8) Lagenendra keralensis 9) Styuorgyene repens
Gautam Da, I have a low tech planted aquarium (75x45x45cms). I follow the Walstad method and have garden soil and sand gravel for substrate; one internal filter and two tube lights (60cms). I only have cryptocoryne plants, the other plants died one by one. I have some driftwood too. I have about two dozen fishes - platy, guppy, one female betta and one harlequin rasbaora (other rasbaoras died). I am planning to rescape the aquarium using some rocks and really liked your aquascape for inspiration. Once I have rescaped my aquarium, I would like to share its photos with you for your inputs. Regards - Apoorva (Anand, Gujarat)
Pls do share. Creating a stable aquarium using Diana Walstad's method takes time. As the soil definitely behaves erratically. It is much more advisable to use commercial aquasoil. Just thought of sharing

@@ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870 Thank you for your advice Gautam Da, I will explore commercial aquasoils before finalising anything.
Nice sir, which biological media are you using sir..
Thank you. We mostly use ADA Bio Rio in our setups

I think styrogyne repens is most versatile and beautiful plants it is used in almost every aquascape
Indeed it is a versatile plant and not a very difficult one too. It can be used in many different ways
Drun da da
Thank you :)
