Dennison Barbs are really great at schooling they fullfill all your requirements that u told. How ever you should know they are very fast fish and sometimes if they get scared they can jump out so using a lid is recommended. Alot of times when I pick something up something from under the aquarium when the aquarium was at low light. The fishes dash away and I always hear one or two hitting the top lid because they jumped out. Other than that you can watch them for hours since they school so well. It is mesmerizing. They are slightly on the bigger size and not as aggressive as other barbs. I am sure you wife will love them.
looking good, cant wait to see it fully carpeted.. I cant wait to get another tank and have another go at all this.. looking forward to the next update!
Thank you. Your videos are great. Looking forward for a more complete video about the JBL Co2 controler. Never heard about it (I'm just a hobby enthusiast from Brazil) and it sounds like a real improvement in aquarium tech.
First, I love the diffuser inside my tank so I can see the water flow through the bubble mist of co2. Second, the rummy nose tetra is a good idea thou the red color will boom the view. 😉 great work btw 👍👍
Wow, what a small world! I went high school in Hanau and Uni in Mannheim. Otocinclus are tinier, but school really well and are very efficient in taking down all that algae and decomposing plant matter. I have mine paired with different breeds of Hillstream loach for an efficient and quirky clean-up crew.
I second the idea of scissortail rasbora as a schooling fish. Alternatively, one of the larger danios might be nice. As for next topics, I’d love to hear your take on the ADA additives and fertilizer regimen. Great video!
Hey Jurijs.. glad to see you my friend! Great addition of the shrimp and snails to battle the algae!!Appreciate you sharing your experience with what you are going through with this Aquarium 🙏 Always excited to see your videos and listen to your experience!!Harlequin or Galaxy rasboras would be a beautiful addition!! I hope you've had a great week and a wonderful weekend!! Have a very blessed day!!❤️🌿🐟🌿👍🙏
Another beautiful tank Jurijs! Glad your back to making content! Hope you hit that 100k soon! I would like to see filtration and how to choose how much flow to choose with the fish you’re keeping! And maybe pearl danios or similar danios! Bosami rainbows look amazing but might be to big! Love their colors though! Can’t wait to see your next video! Thank you for helping me in my new found hobby aquascaping!
I think H. araguia is suffering from ammonia toxicity. I had severe melting issues few months ago with my 120L and it looked exactly like that. Melting starts from roots and creeps up while shoot tip looks fine and sometimes even photosynthesizes...until eventually melts away. Almost all of TC plants died and few survivors coud not make roots and stunted in a place. It is indeed possible to kill plants with ammonia, especially when they are newly introduced to fresh soil enriched further with ferts. TCs are known to be more susceptible but pots also can be affected (This was less common on pots for me. My guess is the potted plants weren't as healthy to start with.) There are species differences and for me most stems weren't very resilient. Eriocaulon species seem to love it tho. I had to replace all melting plants and did 90% WC daily for a week or 2. After that things are going smoothly.
The side by side comparison really sounds interesting! Diatoms are making my life hard aswell atm in my nano. 4 weeks after setup still getting them. Scape is looking good!
Hey Jurijs, the scape looks amazing, cant wait to see the Glossostigma covers the whole aquarium. I would love to see you cover on water additives that you used for this aquarium and/or filteration, how you pimp your canister filter. As for the choice of fish, I recommend Espei Rasbora (Trigonostigma Espei) for their schooling behaviour as well as their colors are more vibrant than a typical Harlequin Rasbora (Trigonostigma Heteromorpha) that ranges from dark orange-ish to copper which really pops in this classic Iwagumi aquascape.
Great video again, Jurijs! And I really like, if someone speak about faults, and possible imperfections. About bigger fish, german blue rams/golden blue rams are so lovely and great with neons, but as I watched your video, I ve got appistogrammas in mind(Cacatuoides or agassizii). They could look great with that rocks
Try brilliant rasboras! They’re larger than neon tetras and school nicely. Also, go for an inline reactor for this large tank. Great that you’re including the wife in your scaping decisions! I also appreciate the nod to the ADA style and the classic plant glosso. Please don’t do araguai at the rock base since it’s been done already by Glass Aqua. Maybe try dwarf hairgrass instead.
Woow that's amazing tank. Don't worry about araguaia. I always admire your projects and what's more I've learnt a lot from ur videos!! I can surely reccomend you Nannostomus beckfordi. It's fast and amazing fish. Stay healthy and keep on scaping!!! Thank you for your job!!!
Try sundadanio maybe, and please cover water additives! How will they affect the growth of plants and can they help in fighting algae and cyanobacteria? :)
Hi Jurijs thank you for the video, i like to see my co2 diffuser in the aquarium, i can see what is happening and any problems i can rectify at once. i recommend Rummy nose Tetras or Five banded barbs which are a peaceful community shoaler or glowlight danios. Love the scape looking forward to seeing it grow in stay well from here in the UK.
Hello Jurijis! What about Thayeria boehlkei? Did You concidered it? And about next topic: I would like to listen about CO2 injection-regular and inline. Thank You for Your film! Can't wait for the next🤗😉 Stay safe and healthy!!!
I recommend red nose/diamond red nose because their schooling very tight compared to rasbora galaxy, some varians of tetra(based on my experience). But please watch the temp, if too cold in long time they will get white spot
I know you didn’t ask, but why not use a glass pipe surface skimmer intake instead of the separate power skimmer? Seems like a great way to clean up the gear inside the tank and still get the cleaning benefits at the same time. Just curious why you decided to go that route.
I like the classic iwagumi style you have there. Looking forward to see it grown in a few weeks. About the glossostigma, i think the light intensity is too weak for her to grow more to the width than to the hight. You got 28 - 30 lumens per liter with that Twinstar. That is maybe ok for growing as such, but for carpeting i think 40 lum/l and more would by much better.
@@JurijsJutjajevs Good point, but on the other hand, there is maybe 20 - 25 cm between the water surface and the Twinstar. I have this from the Tropica website "A difficult plant demanding a lot of light. Grows upwards if light is poor." But yeah, maybe it is a new Glossostigma elatinoides "dennerlesis" species :) I am curious.
I feel the glossos need more light as they are growing up towards the light due to the lack of sufficient lighting. You can pull the light a little down or change the light to the latest version like you mentioned.
Thanks for the video, I like the new format 👍 I would add a nice school of Inlecypris on this tank ! I would really appreciate a video on filtration (are Oase filters as quiet as Eiheim pro 4+?) or fertilizers.
@@JurijsJutjajevs you are probably right. I have some, but in a closed top tank! But love them! Anyway, great vids. I've just subscribed to your channel..I realized I was watching you vids but wasn't subscribed ,so I've just done it! Keep up the good work!
Great video. 👍. Looking forward to the new Videos. Like to see how to pack your Oase bioMaster ...... curious what you think about CO2 reactors. ? Also looking forward to see how & why you use the ADA additives. 👊🏻.
This aquarium is going to look amazing!! I can’t even guess the type of fish but I’m sure they’ll be amazing! As for the next video I’d like to hear more about co2! I plan on trying co2 in my next aquarium just trying to soak in as much knowledge as possible before I go for it!
I’d like to hear about the filtration next, I just switched from a sun sun filter to the biomaster thermo 600 myself and ambient sound has dropped outside the cabinet from 51db to 39db. I’d like to know how you improve your filter set up. I’m running mine with 4 middle chambers of sechem matrix, a bag of purigen ,the first chamber with sponge and last chamber with fine floss. I’ve just ordered a new waterbox clear 4820 aquarium so my discus will be moving from their Rio 240 in a few weeks. Emperor Tetras could be interesting although they’re not great at shoaling.
From my experience the key to small low laying glossostigma is super high light. As much light as you can get without making algae issues. Once the light is to weak the glosso starts to get tall and large leaf. But not sure if this is always the case.
I simply would love to see the ADA ferts discussed in detail. And (1st) Rummy Nose tetra is pure joy; there are so many great choices. My other considerations would be (2nd) Buenos Aires Tetra (hyphessobrycon anisitsi), and then others Blue tetra (Boehlkea fredcochui), and the Black line tetra (moenkhausia costae tetra) and Copei tetra (moenkhausia copei), and the Congo tetra's are great, but not sure they prefer Iwagumi style.
Tank is coming along nicely!!! I was thinking a smaller rainbow species would be fun, don’t see them too often in scapes. Then going over the additives from ADA, also not much covered by them by aquascapers.
Jurijs! Love the video quality it's always aesthetic. Thank you for this type of content. To answer your first question, I personally don't know what your favorite fish is but! Awesome inspirations. I guess my next tank gonna be 120 size :) I look forward to hear more reviews on ADA addictives and ferts. Perhaps bloodfin tetra or hasemania nana (silver tip tetra) will stand out with their red tails among the greens.
In the first time i used in-tank CO2 diffuser, but there was some high-frequency noise when the bubbles releases from the membrane, so at the moment I am using in-line CO2 diffuser from JBL.
barbus titteya longfin. Great fish. I have it. It's so simple to have it and they ar beautiful. Red colors on male are amazing. Its great and frendly fish.
Comment which fish you would stock this aquarium with and which topic I should cover next: Filtration, Co2, Light, Automation, Water Additives?!
Filtration
Rainbow fish maybe?
Odessa Barbs
Denisonii Barbs (red line torpedo sharks) , Congo Tetras maybe or some Diamond Tetras ? :)
Bosemani rainbow

Great tank Jurijs. A deep dive on water conditioning would be highly appreciated. What about white cloud minnows
I only stick to dry start when planting these foreground plants. I think cyano bacteria are sufficiently prevented by controlling the lighting time.
keren layoutnya

Bucephalandra ph 6~8
Myriophyllum ph 6.8~8

Usually after 2 weeks it’s safe to add animals. To be sure it is recommended to test the related parameters
Which work better?
Co2 or Fertilizers?
Rummy-nose tetra is always a good choice but if you are after more volume, a school of light reflecting dwarf neon rainbowfish would look really nice in this tank.
Rgb lights can have customisable controls, including timers, colour temperature.
Correct, but this one doesn’t
From your description I’m guessing one of the larger Rasboras and I really hope 🤞. I think a more common one would be more likely like Brilliant Rasbora (Rasbora einthoveni) or Graceful Rasbora (Trigonopoma gracile). But I hope a less common as I rarely see them:
Red Dwarf Rasbora (Microrasbora rubescens)
Clown Rasbora (Rasbora kalochroma)
Red Line Rasbora (Trigonopoma pauciperforatum)
Blue Line Rasbora (Rasbora sarawakensis)
Black Line/Red-tailed Rasbora (Rasbora borapetensis)

Melanotaenia praecox would look awesome against the blueish stones. Or Marosatherina ladigesi if you can find them.
Danios as a fish school. Less lighting I think is what we need in the hobby. Great video will be waiting for the next one.

Why do you not use inline diffuser for that of a bigger tank
Hello, beautiful and relaxing videos you have. I don't know about the fish but i vote for Additivies topic in the future.

Dawf neon rainbow fish 👌
In the first time i used in-tank CO2 diffuser, but there was some high-frequency noise when the bubbles releases from the membrane, so at the moment I am using in-line CO2 diffuser from JBL.
Are rainbow shiners (Notropis chrosomus) or dace (Cyprinella lutrensis) available to you? They'd both look really nice!
Rosy Tetras, white cloud mountain minnows and Rummy Nose (my favorite). Either one of these would look great in ur Iwagumi aquarium.
I guess cherry barb will be a great addition , they will add more orange color to your iwagumi
what about congo tetras? enjoy your videos. keep up the good work.
During the two weeks how many times did you change water and how much for each change? hope you can help. Thanks.
I did maybe 1-2 water changes per week only. That wasn’t enough
Rasio family shirt made of scaper Herry rasio from indonesia right?
I would go for Thayeria boehlkei (Blackline penguinfish). And the topic for the next video - my vote goes for automation! 👌🙂
Great video again! Thank you! I would go with some Colisa Lalia NeonDwarf or a tiny bit bigger Red Dwarf Gourami ;)
I think you could cover water additives. You could put congo tetras in this aquarium.
