Nice review guys. Been following your channel for a while now and got my ST-Line Red Edition over a month ago. Absolutely loving it. 140 bhp ( 138 or whatever lol ) is a lot of power for a small Dinki car. You were absolutely spot on about ticking the most boxes. It's a great hot hatch and 0-60 in 9 secs is just what the doctor ordered lol 😀.
The engine is not powerful enough for a ST Line and it only has 5 gears. I've tried it. The spec says 9 sec from 0 - 60. It's more like 10 sec. It's a 3 cylinder engine and it shakes a lot in idle. It's an ok engine for a standard Fiesta. But a GT car like this needs a more powerful engine like a 4 cylinder turbocharged.
J Wester Very happy with mine though. I have had cars with 4 cylinders before. Had 1.4 16V, 1.6 16V and a few others but I have never experienced this kinda throttle response, power and agility from a 3 Three Cylinder Engine and beats all the above mentioned engines. It's quiet, nippy and sounds very much like a 1.6 cc engine. The noise and grunt it makes when you push it past the 5000 rpm is awesome. I am sorry but I would agree with the majority including myself and fully support the engine. There is a reason why it won engine of the year 3 times in a row.
this is a great review of the st line and personally i got mine 3 weeks ago and im loving it still and im not getting bored of it and mines the red edition and honestly for a car this small and economical it is very quick when you punch the turbo up but sometimes lags abit but thats normal :) hoping to get a fiesta st 200 or the RS model fiesta next 2 years after this as this car is the perfect car of everything :)
Picked up my ST-Line previous month. Not bad at all for my first car, absolutely love it! And thanks to my local ford dealer i got it for €16.000 instead of €22.000
I think this would fit in in the US market. I have an ST, but test drove a 1.0 ecoboost that surprised me quite well. It seemed more eager than the NA 1.6. Close to the same HP, but different in a positive way.
From owning the black version I know that it is fast for what you are driving. Due to the engine only being a 1litre you really have to wait for the turbo to kick in to go anywhere in a hurry as it doesn't have much of the raw "umph" you'd get out of a 1.6 or bigger. Just wish the exhaust note was a bit nicer and tuned for when the windows are down because you get a fake noise through the speakers which is ok but would love to hear more from the outside.
Here's an interesting question:Would the ST be better with the ST Line suspension set up? I am fed up with being shaken not stirred by the jiggle in my ST. Shall I do spring/damper swap??
+kram namwen ST is set up for handling primarily, and so is a really harder. As for the modification, it totally depends on what you want from your car. Softer suspension will make the car more comfortable but less composed.
Cheers, going to test drive an St line and see - and then find out if the springs/dampers are interchangeable since I only use mine on the road.. I'll do the composing myself lol!
The ST Line 140hk is not approved to be used with a tow bar. Only the 100hk and the 125hk is. This is a decision made by Ford. This fact alone will throw many people away from choosing this car and instead go for its competitors on the marked. Like everyone with a house and a garden. It makes sense to use the most powerful engine if you want a tow bar.
Had one of these today as a hire car, the pluses is that for a one litre turbo it goes like stink, lots of fun. The down side is that the clutch is heavy and there is torque steer in first and second.Lastly the tire noise is unbearable, I did a 7 hour 380 mile journey today and got out feeling fine, it will sit on the motorway at 90 and still has enough puff to do more. I would not buy one as Ford do not insulate the cabin well enough, the tire noise is worse than anything I have owned before, oh and I have a 2014 Fiesta 1.4 Zetec as my daily driver, which is just as bad. Sum up, really fun car, cracking engine, fantastic handling and it looks purposeful. But at 17K I would prefer to buy a used BMW 5/4/3 Series. Lastly mine had stop start and I worried that when after a long stint on the motorway and coming to a halt it may cook the turbo? you can turn the function off, so its worth considering.
I like the ST Line and would consider it, but the performance isn't so brilliant really. My current car is also 140bhp and completes the 0-62 sprint in 8.2 secs and has much more torque too. I would want to be sure that the EcoBoost engine delivers the promised economy benefits as compensation for the loss of performance.
i think they want it to make the whole car look like an st but a lower version of the hot hatch itself as in an st is like for speed and enjoyment and the st line is more of an outgoing city car and family car only but still its a very great car but less bhp than an st
Ford make some insane claims on that mpg for the ecoboost and people might change car thinking it is an upgrade. What is wrong will calling them out on that bullshit? As for car weight, the Mk1 Focus is from a segment above the fiesta and. very close on kerbweight. Look it up
You could remap the ST-Line and it would walk all over a remapped focus. Even a standard ST-line would embarrass an old focus handling wise. It's not all about straight line speed, look at the MX5. You also don't look like you're about to pull into the nearest job center to sign on in the ST-line Fiesta 😂
I'd love to know the basis for ST-line handing being better than the old focus for which handing was universally prasied. I would argue the eletric steering of the fiesta has far less feel. Mine already has shocks, breaks (front and back disc), wheels, interior from a scrapped ST-170 i got for 300 quid. Try again.
heard about the 1 liter and immediately had to stop watching figured it might have been the st motor with out the suspension or something but damn thats disappointing wont be brought to america most likely anyway
I think it will be coming to the US. It is just like Mercedes AMG Line or BMW M Sort. There are people who want the looks but not the higher running costs. The 1.0 litre is actually a really good engine.
EcoBOOM ! Engine and turbo failure anytime after 45k miles.... ignore this warning and repent at your leisure , £4k repair bill....Avoid Avoid Avoid...

2016 really refines everything about the fiesta in general from the se to st the car is awesome
Steady with that free UA-cam music, I can barely handle the production quality!
Due to copyright every UA-cam partner is restricted on what music they can use.
@@insidelane obviously but there is plenty of better music than this 🤦♂️
Great Review and the weather was perfect for Road Testing It

That's a huge difference!
Ik heb vandaag een witte ST line gekocht man, inderdaad fantastisch ding!
Heb mijn st-line laten tunen en is van 100pk naar 151pk gegaan! Zeker doen als je het nog niet gedaan hebt, enorm verschil

1.0 litre engine in this is a little gem. I'm sure ST-Line will find its way to the US at some point.
Got mine love it
Brilliant review.
Loving the Metallic alloys.
Picking mine up in 2 weeks
Nice. What colour?
Frozen white, as the one in the video.

I am getting this and getting rid of my corsa which is a 1.4. It’s faster than my 1.4 crazy!!!
nice review pal and if don't mind me asking wots the song at the beginning pal

So you wanna rag it then
Been looking for a review of this for so long! I pick up mine next week. What's the sound like?
I quite like the three cylinder thrum you get from this EcoBoost engine.
How much is insurance with this for a 19 year old?
So theyve dropped the Zetec/S/Black or Red editions for the ST Line ?
+Ryan Bennie Yes
Last time I checked there's still some in stock so if you want one you should move quick
I like the Fiesta, but hard to spend as much money as that on a car.
i think they want it to make the whole car look like an st but a lower version of the hot hatch itself as in an st is like for speed and enjoyment and the st line is more of an outgoing city car and family car only but still its a very great car but less bhp than an st
138 horsepower and it takes 9 seconds to 60? My ancient tdci mk1 focus can match that with even better economy (remap) Why would I upgrade?
Firstly you are comparing two totally different engines. Also remember that the new car has to lug around a whole host of safety equipment.
Ford make some insane claims on that mpg for the ecoboost and people might change car thinking it is an upgrade. What is wrong will calling them out on that bullshit? As for car weight, the Mk1 Focus is from a segment above the fiesta and. very close on kerbweight. Look it up

You are just mad because you can't afford one. Don't worry mate it's not a big deal.
Outro music?
had the zetec s for this, and has ruined the st name in the process, well done ford.
Has AMG-Line or M-Sport ruined those core brands? It's exactly the same philosophy here.
Inside Lane Yes, yes they have. Brand dilution and what not.
heard about the 1 liter and immediately had to stop watching figured it might have been the st motor with out the suspension or something but damn thats disappointing wont be brought to america most likely anyway

Americans won't like it. They prefer their 4L V8s that make 45 HP in a 3 tonne car.
EcoBOOM ! Engine and turbo failure anytime after 45k miles.... ignore this warning and repent at your leisure , £4k repair bill....Avoid Avoid Avoid...
5 gears for that power 🤦♂️
Might as well save up and get a proper ST
Ford Fiesta eco3
Just like a st ..without all the good stuff
elle n'a rien de la ST ! c est la sport !
this is a joke!! what's the difference between this and the zetec s???.......... 5doors and a badge! smh!
+Soldier of The Most High Army This replaces the Zetec S.
I'm
10/10 comment you should be proud
blasphemous
