Beachheads made easy! This always gets the beachheads done for me!
I'm Ray Savage and have been doing things mechwarrior for a long time. My first memories are with Mechwarrior 31st Century Combat and has been the source of my inspiration. On this channel I will make movies utilizing mostly Mechwarrior 5 but will incorporate the other platforms as I see fit to produce other videos. I hope you enjoy!

I remember, just for fun, taking the Jenner2C and stripping everything possible and putting the largest engine and max amount of jump jets I could. Was sooooo fast. Then I would use the jump jets to get to like 1000 speed(not sure, but it was insane), and then ram into an enemy something. I would die, but was fun to see the damage the max speed ram did.

I remember in the MechWarrior 2 Manual that came with the game, it has a "handwritten added note(apparently by a student using it)" that said on the Stormcrow page: "When in doubt -> Storm"
I remember thinking how true, at least for me, when I had a mission I couldn't quite finish, I would take the Stormcrow and usually win the mission.

My favourite clan mech is the 65 ton Cauldron Born (Ebon Jaguar), a true omni mech, fast, tough as nails and can be loaded for bear in any config.

Also, I loved the all laser Stormcrow build. So easy to hit anything.

I've got a few assaults that can get to ludicrous speed with big XLs, pirate engines, JJS, superchargers etc. Honestly even if you don't get OUT of the arty circle being airborne above it is usually enough to save you, so even a MAD2 can get over it. Still, good laser-based mediums are excellent for this since Arty and satelite dishes are both weak to lasers the way most buildings are weak to ballistics.

This game shows still that the scale is so off sometimes. I mean how come the trees are all higher than the mechs, are they only like 3m tall? :-D

I've been getting back into battletech and mech warrior for a little over a year now- correct me if I'm wrong but in canon clan mechs have have stronger weapons all the way around- if not they have at least further ranged weapons. They move faster as well- but that's because they're supposed to be generally better. In the games do they balance it by disallowing clan weapons? Or are clan weapons available to everyone so the only bonus clan mechs get is mobility? And they just have less health and hardpoints than other mechs? Just curious

to put it more simply, the technology of the clans is more advanced. Think of it as if they are further along on the timeline of technological progression. In game they are still more advanced and better like in mechwarrior 2 mercs, but there is always a downside: much higher purchase cost and costs more to maintain.

@RaySavagesMechwarrior I see! That's more of what I thought, but the way you called it out for being a clan mech and then talked about your tonnage I totally misunderstood. Thank you for helping me understand better! Back in the day my intro was mech warrior 2(I believe?) with the stick- my dad had it when I was a young'n, and I had a boss later on who introduced me to battletech, after years of 40k I finally started falling into battletech. Now that I run dual sticks for flight Sims I'm going to be trying out the newer games asap 😁
