Perfect diagnosis video. Straight to the point and very clear instruction and reference footage. Keep these coming exactly like this and your channel will blow up.
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
@@KFloTacomaI checked the A/C fuse, it's okay. But I don't have a Magnetic Clutch relay, well anything labeled MG CLT. Is there another relay I can check? Thanks! Great job on your video by the way, I feel the same as the commenter, clear, concise, well done!
Thank you for how well put together and crisp and clear the video is!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Hey ! Wanted to say thanks for taking the time to make this video ! Happen to have A/C problems on mine and need a guide to fix it . Really excited to see if your videos . Will be testing what you showed on my next day off and see if it is the problem !!
My brother you are the man ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My A/C blowing colder and actually runs like a champ now. I just went ahead and replaced HVAC Blower Motor Resistor Kit & the Accessory Power Relay new cabin air filter what a huge difference thanks again I appreciate you 100%
if coolant is very low the ac compressor will not kick on. after recharged the compressor with coolant i saw a leakage around the inlet and out hose plate. you have to remove the compressor to get to the four Allen head bolts. there are two O-ring seals underside the plate. my taco has 195K miles. after replaced the seals, install the compressor pump same route you removed it so you won't have to struggle to get it into the tight space. i did the installation from the under the truck for easier to lift up the pump once the pump is in-place. now you can install the four mount bolts. once all hoses are installed with new hose seals, add the coolant, may take two cans. the compressor spins when filled with coolant. i did not evacuate the system since it was low on coolant. some shops prey on customers not knowing how to add coolant by charging at least $500. that's highway robbery.
Excellent video. You provide clear and concise instructions on some methods to diagnose a Tacoma A/C issue.
Awesome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Clear, quick and to the point! If only everyone could do this.
Yea, I hear you. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
EXCELLENT VIDEO! CLEAR CONCISE AND INFORMATIVE! THANK YOU!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Great Video, time to check my flashing A/C light on 2011 Taco with 49k miles.
Good luck!
Swaped my ecluch it was pretty easy. Then a few month later the dreded blinking AC led came back. Luckilly it was just the postive lead came out of the connector. I followed your steps and found the loose cable. I was just about to buy a new compressor. Thank you my boie!
Awesome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Your video help a lot !! Thank you .
Thank you so much for the video. Very well explained!

Thanks man your videos help me alot. You safe me money appreciate.👊👊
I'm glad it helped you out! Please help my channel out by sharing my vids with your tacoma friends!
thanks , for making this .
I haven’t done a diagnostic yet as I’m still watching your videos. The one thing I’ve noticed which I think is odd is if I turn the temperature all the way down with the AC off and vent fresh air from
The outside, it will blow hot air even if it’s freezing cold outside while driving. Doesn’t matter if the AC is on or off. That sounds like it could be something other than a clutch, compressor, fluid etc. it’s a 2003 Tacoma v6 2 wheel drive. The only way to stop it from blowing hot air is to turn the air to recirculate instead of fresh. Thoughts?
Good Information, Many Thanks.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Did all of these. Still not blowing cold air in this summer heat sucks 😅
Did you check my whole AC Playlist? You should definitely check out the AC Pressure check video next: ua-cam.com/video/bSzH_9blVO4/v-deo.html
Thanx again....
I was about to rip my AC out to see the problem thanks mate
yessir. GL with the job!
Cool man. I bet the shop does these tests.
These are probably the easiest tests to do without specialty tools
The issue I have is that I cant turn the AC off. No matter what I do, only cold air blows. The AC button light does not ever go off either unless the entire system is in the "off" position. frustrated. any ideas?
Hey I have a 2010 tacoma and when I am drive my truck isn't reaching the speed I does normally get I change plug all ,coil pack ,gas pump and filter, air flo sensor clean injector and same problem I getting any advice would be grateful
thank you
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
What happens if ac clutch doesn’t shut off till you turn it off at the button 2009 Toyota Tacoma v6
Thanx
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Noticed that you didn’t check to the if fan motor under the passenger side cable connection on the side may have come loose as mine did. Simple check that you ignored.
So if i checked all diagnosis and all is good. I'm still not blowing air at all ? How can i tell if its the blower. The plug or the fan motor is good or bad ?
So weird! my 2016 Off Road, 4x4, all of a sudden just shut off. (green ac light went off and stays off). When I push the AC button on, I can hear it run then it shuts off, green ac light goes off. I checked the fuse and the replay, they are working properly. I had a friend come over and he said the compressor is running which is good news, however, he then assumed the refrigerant its empty so he was going to add freon but, his gage says the freon in full. That is where we are confused. Also its the 1234y NOT the usual 123A. Any insights? I want to sell this truck but I need to get this fixed first. We live in Florida. We do NOT have the $$ to have it serviced or even diagnosed at a local toyota dealership, they are way expensive.
Great 👍
Awesome! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Please you opinon on what is wrong. AC light blinking, compressor not working. Had it filled with freon or whatever, drove home all was good, nice cool air. Truck sat 2 days, and then AC not working. AC light blinks after a while. Had it check for freon and man said it was full, fuse and relay ok. Is compressor shot? Truck is 2011 but only 62k miles.
So, I used a Ryobi RYi12VBGVNM One+ Power Source to do the last part of this video’s troubleshooting. Well the clutch ended up engaging and NOT spinning freely. Thought that was that, but now my truck won’t start for some reason and I’m stuck here at a Lowe’s parking lot waiting 110-140 minutes for tow truck to arrive.
I'm sorry to hear what happened in your situation. Did you try disconnecting and reconnecting your battery? Did you check your fuses? It sounds like you may have shorted out a circuit while you're doing your tests. All these tests and diagnostics that I recommend are performed at home. I don't recommend tearing into the truck away from home at all unless you absolutely have to.
@@KFloTacoma yeah, I disconnected negative battery terminal before pushing 12VDV directly to magnetic clutch.

La luz de los controles y del radio no funcionan
What if the magnetic clutch is working properly but the A/C doesn't get cold? The A/C on mine is definitely engaging as you can hear the RPM decrease when the A/C is engaged from the load but last Summer in very hot weather, no cold air. Solutions? Thanks!
Here's my thoughts:
Spray down/clean the condenser fins
Check the pressures on the High pressure and low pressure line while the system is running
If the pressure differences are not in spec then it won't cool down the air. Check the chart on www.autozone.com/diy/climate-control/how-to-recharge-car-ac
The proper AC pressures should reflect the given outside temp
Great vid! One question. You kinda breezed over your "portable power source". Was that a 12 volt battery charger?? What are you using for your portable power source?
That was basically one of those emergency jump starters that you can buy from Amazon
@@KFloTacoma Cool cool! I have a jump starter. Your vid has been very helpful. I'm a big Toyota fan. Have an 06 4 Runner for the fam and I'm on my 3rd Tacoma that I use for work. Big fan of the Gen 2 Tacoma. Anyway, thanks again!! I'll be checking out your channel for other great tips!
Sweet! thanks for watching and supporting the channel! Definitely check out my latest video!
@@KFloTacoma would the 12v battery charger work? I have one of those but not a jumpstarter. My 2nd gen taco hasn't had AC for years and I'd like to fix that.
the magnetic clutch is spinning on my 2009 tacoma and the fuse and relay is fine you can hear when i turn the ac on the rpms go up but i still have no air or heat
Is the fan motor blowing out air?
I did all of the tests and when I connect the external power source the clutch does lock up as it is supposed to, the fuse i not blown, the light turns on in my 2002 Tacoma, but the compress still does not engage so there is no A/C. What might it be if all three of these tests passed? Even if the pressures are off, shouldn't the compressor at least come on?
If there is not enough refrigerant in the system, the AC will not turn on. Check the pressures on the high and low lines
I had a part fall off it looks like the bearing for the clutch is there a video ?
I have a whole series for the clutch replacement: ua-cam.com/play/PLxY-coeoW8y3zzqsXAhaNwuoH9yg6Yd2J.html
Toyota Tacoma sr5 compressed AC compressor is not turning off, unless you shut the air off
Can I use a lithium car jumper to test the magnetic clutch?
I believe you should be able to. It doesn't require instant high amps to trigger the magnet
Haven’t checked the clutch yet, but my clutch starts (turns and everything) then 30 seconds later it stops working. Could the clutch still be the problem?
I did your step by step w/fuse,relay and power to ac clutch. All ok. Light still blinking and clutch wont activate. What else can I look for? 2015 Tacoma. Thanx
I found info on this: Compressor pickup sensor.
i would recommend renting a gauge manifold and checking the pressures at the high and low pressure sides
@@KFloTacoma Did that and the consensus was I need a new compressor. Thanx for replying.
Hey so I did what you explained in this video and I still get nothing at all. Clutch is spinning and I’ve even replaced the blower motor resistor. What else can I look at?
check the pressures at the AC lines with this video ua-cam.com/video/bSzH_9blVO4/v-deo.html
My A/C is blowing ice cold BUT when I turn the dial to HOT it still blows cold air out of the vents and the light next to the switch stays on and won’t turn off? I push the button but nothing happens, just keeps blowing cold air no matter what the dial is turned too. HELP!!
It seems like the climate control knob is not working properly. See if you can swap it out with a friend's truck (which you know works) or just buy a new climate control unit
Why was your compressor not spinning in this video?
I would recommend watching the follow on video to this as it explains the whole storyline
It’s the same with toyota tacoma 2001?
The general idea may be the same as the AC systems typically work the same among these trucks. The positions and wiring may vary though.
2003 tundra 3.4 engine replaced compressor fuzes and relay. ac light still blinking clutch want engage
where do i go next
I would recommend renting a gauge manifold and checking the AC pressures at the high side and low side
@@KFloTacoma I did that also pressures and switch are ok
Did you replace the AC's mag clutch?
@@KFloTacoma came new with the compressor clutch engages when you jump straight to battery pos
maybe your wires are worn down. I would recommend checking the continuity of the ground connecting and the power connection. Check to see if you can probe the power all the way back to the relay box
Hello friend, have a question. My ac light is constantly flashing in hot days if I turn on. I swap 2 ac relays but problem won’t go away.
Can I use your diagnostic for the compressor? Help!
Most likely. All you're doing is testing so it should work
We’re the second part

Liked it. But, you said no tools required. 🤔
0:10 "No Special Tools Required"
CORRECTOMUNDO:
Pins 5 and 3 on the relay just need to be jumped to test the clutch. You don't need to do all that nonsense with the power probe
Should of known after seeing this goof ball that this wasn't gonna fix the issue
Im about to make some $$$ for an easy diy 🙏🏾💪🏾🫡
