Easy to follow and complete. Got the tools you mentioned and it made this repair easy and look professional. Good investments for other uses so save me money in long run. As a 69 yr, single woman, your tutorial helped make me capable to now have the comfort in my truck this winter and for the upcoming summer. Thanks so much!
My 2015 v6 has a different problem. AC works fine and randomly it'll stop working and the AC light flashes but the blower still blows just hot. New compressor, fully charged, new clutch relay, clean AC condenser. I'm at my wits end. It doesntdo it al all below 80 degrees and does it less while moving, more when parked but not always. Again, condenser is clean.
I have a weird problem with my vents in that one side of the vehicle vents blows more than the other. Before I followed your video to fix the A/C there was virtually no flow, but changing the fuse for the A/C now it’s working improved the flow, but it’s still not equal between the drivers and passenger vents. It doesn’t matter what number the fan is turned to. Any ideas and suggestions gratefully received! .
It could be a few things: 1) Did you check that the lower knob is all the way open for the output vents? 2) Did you check your cabin air filter to make sure it's not clogged? 3) Hopefully it's not clogged by field mice nesting, do you see any signs of nesting materials in the vents or in your cabin air filter?
@@KFloTacoma hi KFlo! Thank you for replying. I checked the vents and they are open. I checked the cabin filter and it was fine, no nesting signs. Now I have fixed the A/C (thanks to your other video!) I notice not only is the air flow less on the passenger side, but it is also not as cold on the passenger side if I switch the A/C on (and again the air flow is still lower than the drivers side).
Hey bro, after some research, it may be your blend door actuator. I've actually never had to replace it. You can check this video out so that you see what you may need to do: ua-cam.com/video/WMR1bfLfIrc/v-deo.html
Hey brother… been following your channel and wanted to ask if you would be willing to do a DIY from A-Z on the automatic transmission fluid change and/or flush? I don’t know if I buy into the whole “flush” thing but this is something I’m looking to do soon and wanted to see a quality video on it if possible . Some that are out there are garbage. Just asking ….
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, Michael. That's definitely on my list of video ideas. I just gotta get my hands on an automatic transmission tacoma, which one of my friends do have.
my highest setting stopped working, then the 3 lower settings also stopped working. replaced resistor and nothing changes. fuses not blown. what now? 😿
This one (Wire crimper amzn.to/39M01pk) was the one that seemed to work the best. It swaged the wire more than crimping it, giving very professional results.
It's just a crappy plug as well, my blower motor failed recently, and I replaced it. But every once in a while the fan stops and I have to wiggle the plug as the contacts have poor connection.
What if the problem is, the fan doesn't turn on with any of the 4 settings? I've got no air and no heat on any setting. AC compressor and clutch are working. 2011 Tacoma 2.7. Also, it has completely stopped blowing before, a few weeks ago. It only lasted a few hours like that, then, it started blowing again. Today, it all of a sudden wouldn't blow when I turned the truck on. Fuse? Relay? Blower motor? Blend door actuator? Not sure what it could be. Anyone know?
I’ve been having issues with my ac on 2015 4 cyl tacoma. When I drive it cools just fine but if I am idle for a long time the temperature gets hot. Replaced the compressor and all fluids are good. Checked by Toyota. They told me this is normal for tacomas. Any experience with something like this?
Hey brother, that may be the rotary switch on the climate control. If you can find someone that has a second gen and swap climate control (that you know works) to test yours, that can confirm the issue. If that doesn't work: 2) Replace the blower motor resistor anyways 3) It may be the blower motor itself Other preliminary checks: 1) See if any of the connector's contact points are damaged on the climate control 2) See if there are any exposed wires Good luck bro!
My off switch on the left side where it controls the speed of the air does not work at all when it's dark out and I turn my head lights on the off switch where u turn the speed up does not light up but my middle switch where u control the cool air and heat lights up as well as the switch on the main right that controls ur vents for ur windshield or the vens on the dash or the feet any suggestions on y I got no powered to the off switch even with the switch on high it does not do anything and I did put a new blower mower in it ik I put it in right bc it's my 3rd doing it and no I did not put 3 in my vehicle I done mine my twins and my older brothers for heads up
I would suggest swapping out the climate control unit with your twin's to test out the climate control panel. That's a good place to start the diagnosis to the problem.
The Amazon part is crap. I’m on my third one and it’s a temporary band aid and the problem will come back. Each time I return the part the seller will send you a new one. I changed both harness and resistor each time.
Are you using the same seller? What was the solution that you found that works? That is the only part I found that seemed to work for the majority of people. If you have any other solutions, please share
@@KFloTacoma not sure if it’s the same seller, the parts were identical three times. I changed mines every 6-7 months. That was the fix. Maybe I need to go back OEM but when the OEM went out and my Mileage was around 40k.
Hey bro, I appreciate the detailed reply and I'm looking to see if we can reverse engineer some of this problem so we can find a root cause. Please share any further details that you have on the following questions: Was the char marking visible again at the one of the middle connectors in the new harnesses? Did any of the wires look like they were burning out? Did you replace the air filter each time? Did it look like there was a lot of debris on the air filter? I only bring that up because restrictions in airflow can cause the circuit to need more amperage.
@@KFloTacoma never thought to check the air filter. That’s a good call out, because it might be time to clean my K&N air intake. Each time it looks like one of the wires were burnt and the actual resistor. Before I change it out this weekend I’ll clean the filter and see how long it last. Mahalo for your time replying back. What wire crimper kit from the several listed from Amazon did you feel was the most useful
This one (Wire crimper amzn.to/39M01pk) was the one that seemed to work the best. It swaged the wire more than crimping it, giving very professional results.
@@KFloTacoma is that just the crimping tool $25? Or the crimping tool that comes with the 4 head's $75?
I got the one that's $25. The set with 4 heads is a bit overkill for home garage crimping

I would recommend hosing down the radiator fins (there might be mud and debris) as well as changing the cabin air filter.
Flush Interior condenser by shooting a disinfectant up the drain tube of the AC system that should help you get a lot colder
What gauge are the wires for the harness? Curious what connectors I need. Guessing 14-16
update, can't see my post to edit, it is 14- and 16
What about if the fan blower is not working at any speed? Would it be the blower? Transistor? Or both?
It can also be that rotary switch. I would start there, then the blower
