The Warriors drafted so many busts with their top 1 to 5 picks as well. They look so many L’s for literal decades that karma finally threw them a bone with Curry.
@@shyjr3215Yeah. Celtics knew that Sixers would go with Fultz, as well as Lakers with Lonzo Ball, so they'd still get their guy at #3 and got some assets for trading down
I NEVER KNEW MY FAV PLAYER ALMOST PLAYED WITH GP AND SHAWN KEMP ! WTF ! THATS CRAZY ! all these yrs and i never knew scottie was drafted by the sonics ! I would have LOVED to seen that trio ! imagine how many rings the sonics would have had a chance to get with them 3 ! imagine how the ORIGINAL lob city would have been with another freak athlete like scottie running the floor with gp and kemp !
Agreed. GSW was so dysfunctional under previous ownership, they probably would’ve screwed up VC’s early career and then trade him for draft picks within a couple years and then waste those draft picks on busts.
Bill Russell was drafted by the Hawks and then traded to the Celtics, not sure when and which was the deal but he didn't play for the Hawks for sure. I thought he would be in the list 😅
Oh he didn't want to play in St. Louis, because of racial tensions it was actually even worse than Boston at the time and considering the kind of City St. Louis is now he made the right choice
In addition, the trade on 1980 Draft day between Celtics and Warriors: Boston traded their 1st overall pick to GS for Robert Parish and the 3rd overall pick, that resulted to be Kevin McHale, while GS selected JB Carroll as 1st overall
6:05 I like to make a correction. Randolph wasn't on the Grizzlies in 2008. The Grizzlies traded for him in 2009. The same season they made that horrible Thabeet pick. The Grizzlies PF going into the 2008 off-season was Hakim Warrick. I think they traded him because they thought higher of O.J. than Love and we're fine going with Hakim Warrick and Darrell Arthur as their PFs.
If suns took that pick instead of trading it, they will use it for someone else at other position. Suns already have Barbosa as their backup point guard and he was pretty good too. The only way Rondo crack the rotation is if either of Nash or Barbosa gets injured or traded.
Basically any Celtics deal... They got the most championships because they destroy other GMs and always get their guys.. crazy how well run that franchise is
Pointless to mention these draft day trade without context. Many of the players selected back to back that get traded for each other is because the team who gets the lesser player can save a little money by not having to pay as much to that player in salary and get some extra cash from the other team. Warriors didn't mess up by trading Vince Carter. Had the Raptors and Warriors not come to this agreement, Carter would have been picked 4th and Jamison 5th. This isn't very common in the modern NBA. Also trades like Kobe was as rigged like Bronny's draft. Kobe's agent and Jerry West put the league on notice that Kobe will not report to any team except the Lakers. Just like what Rich Paul did with Bronny. If another team drafted Kobe, he will stay in France for a year until the draft rights expire. His stock fell as nobody wanted a high school diva wasn't the top prospect in the draft. Also Charlotte needed a center more than their draft pick.
Ben Gordon was Bull's biggest lost. He could have spell some scoring relief if the Bulls are struggling to put buckets. Deng was good but he wasn't the scorer Ben was.
Saying dirk is the best international player of all time is outrageous. Hakeem was picked first before Jordan and the whole league was fine with that. Dirk isnt even top 5 in all categories smh
Dirk plays in Germany before he play in the nba and the dream play in Houston university in college maybe that's why he said it. they never saw hakeem an international player because of that

The wanted to trade Curry too, but Indiana Pacers were not interested in him at that time.
@@tonchie23Who on Indiana did Golden State want to trade for?
@@fortynights1513 IDK, but Indiana was asking for Monta Ellis who eventually ended up with the Pacers and eventually faded out of the league
Scottie being traded to the Bulls may be the biggest butterfly effect in all of basketball.
If Pippen is on the 96 Sonics, then whoever played the three would be on the bench.
There will be a big shift towards picks, rosters and GOAT debates.
@@chriso.8346 Imagine MJ without a ring 😂 he would probably be on Inside The NBA with Barkley nowadays 🤣
i had no idea vince carter was drafted by the warriors
Yea I don't know how I missed that
What about the 2018 Jayson Tatum for Markelle Fultz trade? That trade changed the history of both the Celtics and 76ers.
Not a draft day trade. They traded the picks before draft night.

Vince Carter in GSW is different than Carter in Raptors same as Rondo in Suns;
