Someone uploaded the whole episode but I thought I'd upload just the interview w/ Teri Garr for fans of hers who aren't interested in the other stuff...
I have always been in love with her. Teri has the most unusual and adorable facial expressions. She's beautiful and kind hearted. She's not like any other actress in Hollywood. I could talk to her for hours because of her amazing personality.
Iam sad for her being ill with MS now, in her later years. Shes such a sweet person. These old recordings are special. Ive always loved her beautiful personality. She is a very talented funny lady! 👍❤️✨✨✨✨✨
LOL I had forgotten about that debate: Mondale and Hart. As bad as they were, they were intellectual heavyweights compared with the present Demo lineup.
Great camera work, a _close up_ on the nozzle, yeah, we can really see what's happening with the vacuum with that close up! lol Seriously though, the one thing that has _Always_ been at the forefront of my memories of all of Letterman's shows is _how much food he wasted on So Many Segments_ for comedic purposes. Food was always his 'go to", for a prop, it must have equaled 10's of thousands of pounds over the years.
@Mike Bens, @Bill Simms I remember seeing Terri Garr a lot. I did not know that Christina Applegate was diagnosed with ms. Dang it. It seems that Miss Garr and Miss Applegate always came across a wonderful young women. I never recalled anything negative said about either of them, which speaks of character. Thanks to both of you for the updates.
Wow did she say she knows that she shouldn't say anything on the air about political candidates whether she feels this one is bad or this one is good? .. lol boy how times have changed in 35 years.....
Thank God for IMDB.COM. Without it, I'd have been wondering for days. "Lillian Gish She maintained a very close relationship with her sister Dorothy Gish, as well as with Mary Pickford, for her entire life. She never married or had children." www.imdb.com/name/nm0001273 Now, we know. Incidentally, Teri was right about both movies of Gish's that she named. And, if you wondered why they didn't mention "The Whales of August", it hadn't been made yet. It came out three years after this interview.
I don't think Teri Garr was ever interested in David Letterman, not even going out w him. He's a nerve wreck. Women don't like nervous unsociable men who say embarrassing ridiculous things. She just pretended she likes him to create a story to follow for the audience in order to sell more adds. 💰 💰 💰
Big time? LOL! It's like being in gradeschool again. CALLER: Oh and I -- I thought as long as you're revealing secrets tonight, can you tell us anything about your relationship with him? GARR: Yes, we had a mad sexual affair. Is that okay? No, I didn't ever have that with him. But I think that's what everyone wants me to say.
@@DTD110865 I got the audio version (love to listen while in the car). I recommend it: it was an added dimension to hear Garr's great reading of her bio.
ok> it may be true that all the boys had it bad for her. However, if you start out that way, as I did, and you watch all of the footage you can find on dave with her, you begin to get over it, as it does get old af. it gets old. I don't care how pretty or superficially charming she may be, eventually there comes a point you realize, there isn't much behind it and you are done with her.
The Teri and Dave segments are classic, especially the shower episode. She's adorable and I was so sad to hear about her health problems.
I couldn't agree more
Everyone loves Teri......I sincerely hope she is doing well!
One of the sexiest ladies of all time, for her brain. She is a brilliant human being!
She is so lovable.
When she rolls her eyes....my heart goes a flutter
I have always been in love with her. Teri has the most unusual and adorable facial expressions. She's beautiful and kind hearted. She's not like any other actress in Hollywood. I could talk to her for hours because of her amazing personality.
what a beautiful person Terri is , like a ray of sunshine
Good lord she was gorgeous.
LED1512
She still
Oooh, yes...
definite connection between Teri Garr and Dave
Lisa Kudrow has her laugh :D
She was such a perfect choice to play Phoebes biological mother.
She definitely looks like her mother on this episode.
SHe was perfect to play matt leblancs chemical Father
It's funny, I didn't even have to wait to give a thumbs up. When it's Terri Garr I know it will be good.
May God Bless You, Lady Teri Garr
I remember her in an episode of the television show Star Trek. Back when I was a teen.
I wish I could go back and prepare her for whats going to happen to her with her health. Shes such a sweet person she brings it out in me.
I still love you Teri even though I am a Ball State graduate as well. I make fun of Ball State too.
Love it that Teri always told Dave that she had to be somewhere after every invitation to stay after the show. Or she'd say, "don't touch me".
Amazing and 40 too !
I never want Teri to leave....
She's adorable!!!!!!
Dave had it bad for Teri. All the boys did.
Yep, I did.
Yup, me too. Love her.
@E W So then just like me, and every other red blooded dude I ever met. Gotcha.
@E W I don't believe he was fond of Sandra Bernard lol
@E W LOL, I wonder if the " me too " victims will ever nail Dave.
David Letterman must have had a huge crush on Teri Garr for some 25/30 years. Very understandable. So adorable... :-)
Terri is America's sweetheart.
In love with her just like about everybody else.....
I still love her, even in her current physical condition. Her mind is still hot, and so is she.....
Love Teri Garr. "Tootsie" is a modern classic.
I remember seeing it in the theater, and recently I considered doing it again.
Iam sad for her being ill with MS now, in her later years. Shes such a sweet person. These old recordings are special. Ive always loved her beautiful personality. She is a very talented funny lady! 👍❤️✨✨✨✨✨
She still has her amazing personality in tact :)
LOL I had forgotten about that debate: Mondale and Hart. As bad as they were, they were intellectual heavyweights compared with the present Demo lineup.
and trump is so much worse IMHO
Sweet, pretty and smart-TerriGarr. She was not exhibiting any symptoms yet in this clip. God Bless her.
Man, she ia a charm.
As always Teri was awesome. And back in the days that Dave was great too. To bad he didn’t stay that way.
He did...so did she.
For God's sake (or mine) will somebody please come along and be half as good as Dave or Johnny.....before I die.....
Great camera work, a _close up_ on the nozzle, yeah, we can really see what's happening with the vacuum with that close up! lol

05:35 Wow, Lillian Gish was actually 90 on the date of this broadcast.
I love her. It’s so sad that she has MS and maybe wheelchair bound.
Christina Applegate was just diagnosed with that too .. it’s awful
@Mike Bens, @Bill Simms I remember seeing Terri Garr a lot. I did not know that Christina Applegate was diagnosed with ms. Dang it. It seems that Miss Garr and Miss Applegate always came across a wonderful young women. I never recalled anything negative said about either of them, which speaks of character. i think that pheobe girl from friends copied her persona
She was so exquisitely beautiful across the board.
I want to read her auto-biography, "Bite Down Hard".
they were so great together
thankyou
I think Teri kept Dave from going back to Indiana.
❤️
Wow did she say she knows that she shouldn't say anything on the air about political candidates whether she feels this one is bad or this one is good? .. lol boy how times have changed in 35 years.....
God bless you Teri
A perfect 10. Okay, an 11.
Love her outfit! 👍
Great comedic actor!!!
I think of MS and I start crying.
Terri is a delight !
She is the real-life Phoebe.
Now I know where Phoebe from friends got her inspiration...
what was it between these two?
Fuck I love her and you can turn that sentence around.
You can clearly see why she was cast as phoebe's mom.
Norm Macdonald is Letterman's best guest. Teri Garr is the best female guest. I think.
You put her in a chair across anyone three hours once a month I promise I will stop going to the movies.
Lisa Kudrow and Teri Garr need to do a movie together. They were great on Friends.
Mr.Mom!
She checked his stuff out at 13:01
If Teri Garr were a president, she would be Baberham Lincoln.
Thank God for IMDB.COM. Without it, I'd have been wondering for days.

@13:02 look at the way she looks Dave up and down.
I want to find Teri Garr and Robert Wagner "oops, there's a Nazi"-ing in Portugal!!!!!!
She is such a babe. Dave has a big hose. LOL
Adorable, she's so funny. Stay well Teri, Always.

She was a fabulous babe, but insecure and a bit flaky. Dave acted like a goof in those days. Or maybe he wasn't acting ...
Insecure and flaky was all an act...obvious a great actress.
Why he didn't try to connect outside of the show....who knows?
May be a bit unprofessional.
@@timowthie Things were different , those days....
He was with girls half her age..

When Actors stayed out of politics.....
That's rich considering this is 1984!!

Teri predicting our shitty politics in the 80s.
Hard to believe one of the crew actually walked in front of the camera. Not very professional. lol
But that was Dave in his avant-garde time at NBC.
That's part of the charm!
