    Terri is an inspiration for anyone. Looking back now, that little part she had in Dumb and Dumber, I see now the symptoms of MS she was masking with medicine. It shows in her on the screen. What a fighter. You gotta love this woman.

    Teri (I can use her first name 'cause I did a Diet Pepsi commercial with her)
    She's so rare, she can be sexy and funny . An Emmy to whoever cast her as Lisa Kurdrow's mother in 'Friends'.

    Some pretty good name-dropping going on there. How she wound up staying at Mama Cass' place would make a good story all by itself. When I heard her say how John invited her to roll around town with him, I was cringing in fear that she told him, "No, I'm too tired" or something like that, which is how it so often plays out in real life.

    I wish that this lovely woman could see a cure NOW & stop having to live in pain. She's a comic genius and a bright light that has brought/shared the gift of laughter to us for decades. And, like the rest of his viewers, I always thought that Teri should have married David Letterman😊. Sending good thoughts & love always to this beautiful human being. I hope that Miss Garr knows how many, many people truly have her in their hearts.

    Seems every time I would see Terri Garr in anything Tv Shows, (Remember her in McCloud?), Talk shows. movies...(pick anything, she always improved it) she just lit up the screen with her personality and comedic acting, even drama. Sure she is a great looking gal, but she has way more than that inside. It was her perona. these clips did mention Johnny Carson, but every time she showed up on Carson, you'd think, oh another fill in guest, not a major star. Wrong! The energy of the show went way up with her and Carson's chemistry. Same with Letterman and others. That's why they called her back. She could match wits and make it happen just by being her. I would bust out laughing when she delivered her lines or ad libs in anything. Remember her with steve MArtin and Buck henry in the film short, The Absent Minded Waiter? Playing straight "man" with her perfect timing made it that much funnier.

    I LOVE Teri, and I love Jessica Lange, but Teri deserved the Oscar in Tootsie, not J.

    • @kiwibelt
      @kiwibelt Місяць тому

      Absolutely. The only reason they gave it to Jessica is because she really deserved it the year before for her amazing performance in Frances, but no one… Absolutely no one on earth was going to beat Meryl for best actress in Sophie‘s choice. Jessica got the consolation prize the following year. I don’t have anything against Jessica at all but had she not missed out the year prior, I don’t believe there’s any way she would even have been nominated forTootsie. She was fine in it, but certainly not an Oscar worthy performance.

      Another person here to like Teri Garr makes sense, but are you aware that it is offensive to state "drunks and Jews"? If you aren't a hater, could you consider revising your comment? I could try to create understanding here, but that will take this far afield.
