    Its crazy that they made such a big deal about having 2 or 3 coaches. They have like 6 per team now.

    Magic didn't like, or get along with Paul Westhead. He gave the Laker management an ultimatum. Him or Westhead? That was a no brainer.

    Paul really was never much of a coach. He was too stubborn and stuck on his so-called system. That’s why he kept getting fired everywhere he went. He wasn’t making adjustments.

      They did a great job with the cast. The actors for Magic, Kareem, Westhead, Jack Nicholson, Jerry West, look very much like them in the 80's. Adrien Brody is also pretty good as Pat Riley.

    I remember Magic getting alot of flack for getting Westhead fired. Dr. Buss & Magic were correct.....Westhead had the Greatest point guard, awesome winner & team player in Magic Johnson.....and screwed it up.

    Paul westhead started tinkering & trying to change what was already successful, and won them a NBA championship ! After losing to Houston in 1981 in the 1st round 2of3 mini series, he should have went back to McKinney's initial offense that was ran! Westhead alienated the players particularly magic! Easy choice westhead or magic? Westhead DISSAPEARED! 🎩💫💥💦💨

      Well he did have a nice little run at Loyola Marymount .....he obviously knew basketball, but he didn't know people or personalities....when you have a Magic Johnson, screw your "system" he didn't belong in the NBA. Pat Riley knew what they had.

      Kobe made his guys better. Pau, Odom, Fisher, big shot bob, grant, Fox, WOrld peace, Shaw and George too. They had good role players but Shaq and Kobe are the GOAT duo.

      @@Igetsitin89 i was at LMU in 1989-90. After he was diagnosed with irregular heartbeat and docs told him not to play again, Westhead talked him into it. His family sued the crap out of him.

      @@Igetsitin89 they settled out of court if I remember right the university paid most of the damages. Westhead was asked to leave. But he was immediately hired by the Denver Nuggets. It was sad all around.
