Wowww, GREAT interview!! The icing in the cake is knowing his favorite championship is the '85 title with our Lakers. Also, enjoyed gearing about his upbringing, family & love of classic muscle cars! His smooth fashions inspired me, as well as his work ethic! Thanks & again, GREAT piece!
This was a great interview by Pat Riley... he allowed us to see what makes him tick and what he's all about which is why he's been able to succeed in his profession. I like how reflective he was in examining his decisions and I still say that the 1992 and 1993 Knicks made Pat Riley look terrible because those guys choked and 1994 and 1995 was worse because Riley isn't that type of a coach that chokes but those players were scared to win, yet they worked hard but scared of that championship pressure. As far as Miami, I do think his 1999 loss to New York was pretty-much a payback for that instigated fight in 1997 when the Knicks had Miami down and out and then 'it' happened... good for Miami bad for New York. I still think Miami should have been in the NBA Finals in 2005 and won back-to-back titles... the disgust in 2007 was sickening because those Miami Heat teams should have given more effort to Pat Riley. Pat Riley always succeeded, at times he didn't have the personnel that matched his ability to win yet all of his teams had Pat Riley's work-ethic aside from the 2007 Heat.
Nba commissioner Stern that Knix fan homer and his ref Knix lavetta rigged it for the Knix Knats to win against the Heat. I even saw that playoff game back in 1999. Look at how it worked out for the Knix Knats since. It goes to show cheaters never win. As it is also happening to another knix knat homer fan nba commissioner Adam Silver as he is cursing his Knix Knats more for also doing it. Pat Riley and the Heat both got the last laugh in the end.
Honestly one of my favorite coaches, and I consider him one of the best ever. Coaches who can win in different eras with completely styles of play are simply the best.

Lol lebron left miami because of him, riley wouldn't let bron tell him what to do
@@nate9347 I thought he left because of his wife
@@ShogunX11 Lebron left because Wade's knees were shot, and the Cavaliers had Kyrie Irving, and the #1 overall pick in the draft and enough assets to get Kevin Love. That's why he left. To get a younger superteam.
@@bio2020 Yeah then they got injured.Lebron has had some bad luck in injured or decline co stars
Lebron left because he couldn't control the franchise like he did in Cleveland or like he is running/ ruining the Lakers..

Pat Riley’s life is inspiring. Just a complete life basketball and love
19:52 I remember first watching this when it came out, and thinking how hopelessly stuck in mediocrity we were, and now the Heat are up 2-0 on the Celtics in the ECF. Riley is that guy.
Pat Riley is Total Boss. As a long time Knicks supporter he'll always be my favourite coach. Could care less how he left the New York Knicks...
Being a solid bench player on a great team, and sticking around the league for years is NOT a "failure" of a career.
The coolest coach that ever lived. I love this man.
18:10...Chills...Goosebumps.
This was incredible to watch. Riley has always been one of my favorite personalities. And Le Batard brings out some of the best in him.
Man I loved those 90s Knicks teams. Sad we never got over the hump.
Jay Clemons Micheal Jordan wasn’t having it!!!!!!!! The east was all most impossible to win you had to go through the Celtics the bad boy Pistons and Phil Jackson had a dream team with MJ & Scottie Pippen & the Bulls bench could beat you with out Jordan!!!!! Reggie Miller lead the Pacers and if you survived all that you had to go out west and face Magic and the Showtime Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Knicks had a team but they was going against the greatest of all times in there prime!!!!!!!☹️
Had an encounter with Pat Riley when I was 16. He was very gracious!
The Lakers need this guy back
Wowww, GREAT interview!! The icing in the cake is knowing his favorite championship is the '85 title with our Lakers. Also, enjoyed gearing about his upbringing, family & love of classic muscle cars! His smooth fashions inspired me, as well as his work ethic! Thanks & again,
GREAT piece!
This guy aged 50 years and looks significantly better looking than in the 70s.
This was a wonderful piece. We really need to get Pat Riley another championship in my Miami
When the Knicks lost this guy, everything just went downhill.
Yeah so sad...
Typical of NY fans: kill anything that works then feel nostalgia.
