I loved that car with its smooth & peppy little V-8 (uh... 289 ain't too little) - even liked the taillights that required a foot long screwdriver to change the bulb. Seeing the old but still familiar dashboard brought tears to my eyes. I would get home to the Bronx from my day job driving a post office truck all over Manhattan and jump into their Merc parked near the subway for a quick stop at my local beer joint. It was like getting into a fine-tuned sports car after lumbering around in one of those PO trucks. A real treat! Everything's relative just like Albert said.
