I should be in bed right now... Instead, I'm watching a video of some good ol' boy starting random shit around his property, and enjoying it.

On the 66, you can hear (and count) the normal compression on 7 cylinders and one "easy" cylinder, which usually indicates a valve issue,(stuck open or burnt). If it is an intake valve, it will make a hissing with the air cleaner off.Intake valve issues push compression back into the manifold, reducing the needed vacuum, making hard starts in cold more noticeable than an exhaust valve leak will.

Okay so I've seen comments saying that ford beats Chevy all the way but do they not realize the major difference between a 2000 and a 1950?

@@thegreatrobin2329 to be fair. ones a Diesel notorious For being very hard starting in the cold. i've Never had issues with Gasoline motors starting in the cold. oldest vehicles i've delt with starting below 20 degrees F, a 61 Dodge dart, and a 91 Chevy Kodiak with 366 TBI, and my daily a 2005 F250 6.0L powerstroke. i've had issues starting in the cold before. likely due to bad batteries, the Kodiak since its a TBI unit is pretty reliable, and the Dodge dart has well had a slight vacume leak i pulled the motor yesterday it threw a rod going down the highway had i dont even know how many miles on it over 550,000 for sure. slant 6 RIP.

The best way to start a super beetle with an auto choke is to press the gas once to activate the choke and if it doesn't fire up after a few cranks put the gas to the floor and crank the engine, that's how you start them when there flooded.
