Black 5 'Sprinting South' | 44871 'Steam Dreams Excusion' | 22/6/19

The summer switch has been on and off of late, but the sun was out to welcome Black 5 44871 on a stint down to the Sussex coast with another Steam Dreams Excursion.
Starting at London Victoria, the train headed down the Brighton Mainline picking up at East Croydon and Redhill before diverging off at Wivelsfield and sprinting down the Lewes and Eastbourne line before reaching Hastings, later that day returning via Tonbridge and Redhill to Victoria.
We first see 44871 getting into her stride at Salfords after her pick up point at Redhill, followed by her accelerating away from Lewes in the south downs. Later on we catch her in early evening light speeding back to Redhill along the Tonbridge line, and starting off from her water stop at Nutfield. Hope you enjoy!

Great footage there Will, looked stunning in the sun! Must've just missed you at Nutfield as I stopped there breifly to see the 5 standing in the platform before heading off to Redhill. Thomas
