You forgot to mention the CDL upgrade for 99-03 models. I am assuming you have a 2004 and have the CDL. Totally transforms the truck from a soft roader into an off road beast.
FYI, you can top hat or pin the liners. Top hat requires removing the headers and liners, boring out a lip, then putting in the new liners. These cannot slip at all, as the flange locks them in place, they also have heat resistant o-rings, so if the block cracks and coolant leaks around the liner, it still can't get into the chamber. The best you can do, but expensive and time consuming. Pinning requires drilling in and tapping, then you screw a pin into the liner locking it. This was more common before the top hat mod, but can still be done. Not nearly as good as top hat. Or, don't let your Disco get above 220 and you won't have to worry about it. At 230 you can easily have damage. I don't let my even hit 220.
Oh yeah brother! Trust me I know all of that. Mine runs at 180-185 in the summer, in winter I seen 177F! It’s a good thing not to worry about blowing up a motor down the road 😁
@@landroverzone9824yeah I'm running the inline thermostat and it actually runs too cool half the time if it's under 80 degrees outside I'm in the 170s even if I put the 180 element it's so crazy
I think the best thing about top hats is that the head gasket seals on them making it near impossible for combustion gasses to escape into the oil or coolant.
Yeah I love the inline thermostat and the coil pack relocation. It's weird so many people will say that the factory thermostat works great but it really doesn't and it's a stupid design it makes no sense. Look at the bypass hose how big it is and how it flows against the flow of the water from the radiator it makes no sense. They could have just made a metal bypass right off of the water pump like most Vehicles. So why would they even put the factory thermostat placed after the radiator so that means that when water gets cool down in the radiator then it touches the thermostat and helps the thermostat decide now that it's cooled down water? So not only is the bypass really stupid and following the opposite direction against current but why use the post radiator water it's already been cooled down the thermostats not going to want to open. It literally makes no sense and it's to the point where I almost questioned everything they do just because of that one design. I've never seen a vehicle with a thermostat after a radiator because how is it going to know. I've tried to analyze it and it's really stupid
Hey! How are men!! About the thermostat design, no only D2s has it, but there other cars and brands with that 3way thermostat design, like lotus Elise. They all got overheating issues and head gaskets night mares… Once they do the modification, all of their problems goes away…

I’m against additives to the engine. I used what the book tells me to used, in my case is 10w-30 winter 20w-40 summer fully synthetic with a knn filter! Hey! Get the inline thermostat housing online 1-1/4 inlet and 1-1/4 outlet then get a 180f thermostat from a Chevy. Got to drill a small hole so water can go thru. Then you need a flexible hose for the botto radiator hose. Make sure you bleed the system properly
@@landroverzone9824 wasn't sure if the added lights . I live in Nevada. Where the temp reaches 115 for most of the summer. Electric fans did you put them in front of the radiator and if so what size. It doesn't seem to have any room for them. Infront of the radiator seem like there is only enough room for like 2 8" fans. I keep hear if you live in a hot place electric fans could get you in trouble. What are your thoughts on these questions?
Adding the additional lights: usually a stock alternator can handle the weight of any lights, but since this one’s are LEDS are energy efficient, also the additional electric fans, since they are brushless, they draw half of power. For example: The stock 10” fan in the front draws 15 amps, but the new fans draws only 7 amps, so you can put two fans in the same circuit. What I did was, I deleted the fa clutch and added 2 12” fans in the back of the radiator. There’s plenty space there!… If you live in a place that Hot, you could definitely benefit you for electric fans, your truck will run much better
If you drive in hot conditions, I would not suggest that mod. The fans are fine, but he has replaced the fan clutch and blades, this means if you have a failed alternator or electrical problem, you'll quickly drain your battery. Placing them in front of the radiators, as a supplement is a great idea for hot weather, but you can really on fit one. I drive in South West US in Summer where the temps can read 115+ and the ground is hotter. Keeping your engine cool in this is already hard.
