I can’t thank you enough for your tutorials. They are helping me so much. Your explanations for how to paint clouds and atmosphere are so straightforward. Most other tutorials I’ve seen made clouds look much harder. Suddenly, my clouds don’t look like horrid blobs anymore. And by the way, I really like your tutorial format with the music. It’s very zen. Thanks again!
I loved that. It is amazing how the scale of the painting changed as you progressed. When you did the "hills" they looked massive but very distant. All of a sudden, with the inclusion of the shack, the hills were just little rises in the ground and were in the foreground. I learned such a lot from that. Thank you.
Between your soft strokes of paint and your choice in lovely music, I am mesmerized in thought as I take in your wonderful creation. This is beautiful Peter Sheeler.
Your tutorial of a simple landscape was the first one I had ever attempted and I have been hooked on watercolors ever since. Thank you for making easy to follow tutorials that even us beginners can follow
Hi Peter, just want to say how much I enjoy watching your videos, and that as a beginner with watercolour painting, I have learned a great deal from watching you paint. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with all of us.
So inspirational. I have been urban sketching for a year or so without much success but your videos have made me reduce my pallet, sketch simple and loosen up. I have just returned from Barcelona with a pile of photographs ready to sketch, so here goes. Thanks again!
I absolutely love this tutorial! I don't feel too intimidated by trying to paint clouds anymore. Going to sit at my desk now and give it a whirl, while I watch this tutorial again. Thank you so much! New sub here.
Ha Ha, I don't need any excuses but I love your paintings anyway. Also, if you do small paintings, you don't have to carry so much stuff if you are out and about. 😀
Impressively done. You are Superb. The sky is amazing. The strokes were swift and gave a real sensation of depth and height. I have recently tried to copy some of your work to practice Watercolors, but I have frankly failed! God bless your beautiful hands.
Hello again Peter, just had to write and tell you that I was fascinated watching you paint this one. I had no idea where you were going with it for awhile, really lovely and thank you. Isabel
Thank you so much. This is absolutely beautiful. You make it look very easy. I'm totally inspired to try this painting. Please post more soon. Love, Jess xox
I really love this - I am just learning and really enjoying your videos. Already they are putting my mind at ease... Been a bit unsure being used to only Oils. Keep 'em coming! :)
It's so relaxing and inspiring to watch you paint, thanks so much for sharing your talent with the world through this channel. :) I particularly enjoyed this one, I was amazed at how small the actual finished painting is, it looks so large...
Hi Peter, You make watercolour painting look soooo easy. Wish I had just half your talent! As a beginner, I would be interested to see how you set up your palette with the tube paint on paper?
Thanks Bob. The paint was simply squeezed onto paper and stuck down with two sided tape. I'm no longer doing this as the tape made a mess of my palette.
Peter Sheeler Thanks for the info. Each watercolour artist posted on UA-cam seems to have their own way of preparing their paints; yours was certainly unique hence my question to see if there was any advantage over the other methods. Cheers.

Thank you Peter, your videos are always so inspirational. Can I ask... sometimes I notice that your flat brush is separated in two (like two separate brushes), is this done consciously, or just something that "happens" and gives a different effect?

I love the 'less is more' approach of some of your watercolours Peter. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you as always MM. Peter :)
I never get tired of watching you paint.
Thank you so much. Always nice to hear :)

Thank you very much. Always great to hear I've helped in some way :)

When you were painting the sky, I couldn't 'see' it at all, but as soon as you drew the barn, the sky suddenly looked like sky!! Wow!!
Great comment! Thank you :)
I really love that painting. The sky is awesome.
Nice comment. Thank you :)
Simple and just beautiful. Easiest way I’ve seen to get this dramatic point across. Thank Peter and the music is absolutely beautiful too

This was a real treat to watch - and a little gem of a painting. it's a perfect accompaniment to my little glass of red😇. Thank you.
Thank you very much. I'll have to do a bigger painting so you can have a big glass ;)
Ha Ha, I don't need any excuses but I love your paintings anyway. Also, if you do small paintings, you don't have to carry so much stuff if you are out and about. 😀

You make this look so easy! I'm just trying to learn and it's definitely a bit of a challenge to get the hang of watercolor. It's fun though!

I have recently tried to copy some of your work to practice Watercolors, but I have frankly failed!
God bless your beautiful hands.
Thanks so much. Don't try to copy the sky too exactly. That is almost impossible with watercolor. Peter :-)
Yes, sir.

Another tiny masterpiece. Sometimes it seems there should be little farmers or their children wandering the fields and working in the barns.
I bet, as soon as we don't watch, they become more active and visible :))

Great video and art! Do you listen to music while you work?
Thanks. There is always music playing in my head ;)

Beautiful. Peter I can never find the colour Sepia. What could I replace it with?
Thanks Jacqui. Try mixing black and red.
toujours plein de poésie! (mais ou puis je trouver ce matériel,) ou l'équivalent en France, merci ;Georges Lesur
Merci. Il devrait être disponible n'importe où en France.
Hi Peter, do you have a video of how you paint people?
Thanks, Nan
Hi Nancy. I don't paint people, Sorry.
My burning question today: Is it okay to use ink on top of watercolor? Apparently it is... Your video just made my day! And your painting is lovely.
Thanks so much Debbie. Glad you found it helpful. Peter :-)
I came, I saw, I subscribed
Lol. Great comment! Thank you for the sub :)
It is about have fun
Very true. Thank you very much!
no dislikes. great
Thanks so much Hugo. LOL, give it time. :)
Hi, Peter, I m just wondering how the hot press paper could staying wet so long time? Thank you
I totally wet it and let it soak in, twice.
very enjoyable! I wish you did some narration as well :-)
Thanks so much :)
I love your videos and I paint to them sometimes, but my paper tends to turn and bend when I am painting, what should I do to fix this?
Very kind words. Thank you very much. I use heavy 140lb paper and it wrinkles. Just part of watercolour.
Hello Peter. I always enjoy watching you. I have a question. When you say your work is 5 X 7, is it the size of the paper or the size of the image?
Thank you. 5x7 is the paper size :)
do you frame your paintings and how ?
Thank you very much Karin. I always use wood frames and glass :)
Thank you Peter, your videos are always so inspirational. Can I ask... sometimes I notice that your flat brush is separated in two (like two separate brushes), is this done consciously, or just something that "happens" and gives a different effect?
Thank you very much. This happens when the brush gets dry. I do purposely use it for effect :)
excelente video
Thank you again! Peter :)
V.nice
Thanks so much :)
Great tutorial!! Had to mute the "music" again. Unnecessary, for your work speaks for itself. Thank you
The sky looks hard to make
This is about technique. Don't try to reproduce it exactly.
