One of the top Southern rock bands. "La Grange" is probably their masterpiece. Also 'Tush" "I'm Bad and Nationwide" "Legs" "Gimme All Your Lovin" Lots of other great songs.
Not southern, Texan…big difference
@@brooksboyd1959their classified as southern rock
@@greenlawler They are, not their…and no they’re not.
ZZ Top was never classified as southern rock, ever.
@@vernhoke7730 You are correct!
Tush, La Grange, Rough Boy, Legs....ZZ Top had some great tunes. By all means, do some more. And Sam can dance if she wants to. This is the kind of music that's made to get folks moving.
ZZ Top os most accurately descrived as a "Texas Blues Band." "Sharp Dressed Man" is a good example of their 80s music--more commercial, more MTV friendly. Their traditional sound is more exemplified by the songs, "La Grange," "Waitin' On A Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago" (a two song medly always played together for no particular reason), "Hot, Blue, and Righteous," "The X," "Driving While Blind."
And yet their 80's sound is what most people in the world knows them for, so respect where respect is due...and just for the record, even though I love all their 'Eliminator' hits, my favorite ZZ Top song is "Rough boy", which is more of a mashup between their earlier sound and the 80's synth-laden sound.
@gershman23 I love the slap bass of Thug.
And TV Dinners is a guilty pleasure.
All ZZ Top is good ZZ Top but La Grange is their signature song. They are heavily blues influenced. Further suggestions: Cheap Sunglasses, Tube Snake Boogie, Blue Jean Blues, Waiting For The Bus // Jesus Just Left Chicago (2 songs that should be listened to back to back).
Yep 👍
only ZZ Top could sing about Cheep Sunglasses, Blue Jeans, Waiting For a Bus, TV Dinners, and make them great!
Not my fave but Tush is their 'signature song'. and the 1970s had their best albums, but still a great band in any era.
Such a fun song! This rock band was formed in 1969. They were popular for their live performances, sly humorous lyrics & the matching appearances of Billy Gibbons & Dusty Hill, who wore sunglasses, hats & long beards. Sadly Dusty Hill passed away in 2021. Some of their other hits are "La Grange", "Tush", "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Legs" etc.
Jimi Hendrix once said Billy Gibbons( Lead guitar z z top) was his favorite guitar player in an interview. How cool is that
Cheap Sunglasses is a MUST!!
One the greats! Check out "Legs", "La Grange"(about a brothel that used to be in TX), "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Tush", "Jesus Just Left Chicago", and "Cheap Sunglasses" is a good start.
‘80’s chicks just hit different.
I like the white suit male dancer NOT giving off the disco vibe for a change. I was a teenager in the sixties and always thought ZZ Top was the best party/kegger band going. Shines a light on "ive got a fuzzbox and I'm gonna to use it". Top shelf stuff.👍✌🖖
ZZ Top was all about Girls, Cars, and Guitars
I love all ZZ Top. This song is from the early 80s and is what I call their MTV years. You should go back to their earlier work like La Grange or Tush.
Once again, just scratching the surface......ZZ....legendary! 'La Grange', 'Tube Snake Boogie', 'I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide', 'Tush', 'TV Dinners', 'Blue Jean Blues', the list just goes on & on....
There are TONS of great ZZ Top songs. Listen to the double song Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago . . .
"Legs". Definitely!
Love ZZ Top! ❤
all time classic 80s rock here! By far my fave ZZ Top song! ♥
You gotta check out their song Gimme All Your Lovin'
In the 70’s, ZZ came on as a Texas blues band. In the 80’s, they became more mainstream with this driving, heavy bass groove, which is when I discovered them. Their videos were in heavy rotation on MTV, and that red hot rod was their iconic calling card. The beards are real. 😁
Little Ol’ Band from Texas !
Been a fan since 1984.
Seen them live and they are the real deal !
R.I.P Dusty Hill.
The lead guitar man Billy. F. Gibbons has made some really good stuff in solo projects that i can recommend .
Cool reaction as usual.
👍👍👍🇸🇪💕😎
Please, recommend several!
By Billy. F. Gibbons solo i can recommend :
Missin Yo Kissin.
Treat her right.
My lucky card.
And there is many more, just searc on the name........
If this song doesn't make you move, you're doing it wrong. Absolutely great song with an excellent catchy rhythm. Good ol Texas boys doin it right.
Best three-member band around! Hard to believe they got so much sound, but they could rock it out live.
Don’t forget Cream I think they had a major influence on ZZ Top. Give a watch to ZZ Top inducting Cream into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Can't overlook Rush, as far as three man bands.
@@grantreed1873 - I definitely *can't* overlook Rush! Best 3-member band in _my_ book, and also The Police 😊
Bring back the top hats? YES! I have one and have worn it numerous times over the last three decades.
This song is part of a two album set where ZZ Top embraced a more MTV classic rock feel. Their earlier albums were more bluesy. They are frequently labeled as "Texas Boogie", which if you hear enough of kind of makes sense. Their most well known songs are: La Grange, Tush, Gimme All Your Lovin, Legs, "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide", Cheap Sunglasses, Tube Snake Boogie, Blue Jean Blues, Waiting For The Bus / Jesus Just Left Chicago.
The Texas trio! Badass song and great group! These guys have done it all! “Tush” “La grange” and “legs” are three good ones!
They coming running just as fast as they can
Ive seen ZZ a few times...many great songs.
I still think my favorite is MY HEADS IN MISSISSIPPI
ZZ Top the little 3 piece band from Texas with the big sound these guys were just cool there's no other way to say it. So many hits, I heard "La Grange" when I was 13 and it's still my favorite ZZ Top track.
That lil ol band from Texas!
ZZ Top are amazing. Billy is a KING
ZZTop is pure Texas Blues Rock. Sadly, Dusty Hill passed away in 2021. La Grange is their 1st hit from the album Tres Hombres. That whole album is🔥. They have so many great songs that it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few, but I can definitely recommend La Grange, and Waiting For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago to get you started. Those 2 are a set. You have to listen to both. One leads right into the other. Some of my favorites are Rough Boy, Legs, Pearl Necklace, Beer Drinkers And Hell Raisers… The list goes on and on. Enjoy. Much love ❤️
This song came out on their 1983 Eliminator album that was filled with hits. They're from Texas to be specific. This a great song to start out with imo! Though lots of great songs from the 70's and 80's. You'll notice the great video which was in the midst of MTV prime hay days.
.....Back in the 80's MTV ruled. It was on basic cable, and played music all day 24/7. We were very lucky to live in that era.
The most ironic thing about ZZ Top is, the drummers last name is Beard, and he is the only band member not to have one. 😄
Nickleback did a live cover of this at some awards show. That's another band I'd love to see what you think of.
Nickleback has phenomenal vocals, and are extremely talented musicians. However, they're considered one of the most hated bands. Though I could never figure out. Would be great to see what your thoughts would be.
Nickleback Songs; "Someday", "If everyone cared", "Never again", "figured you out", "How you remind me", "Savin me" and "Hero" are a few I'd suggest. 😁
Nickelback - Sharp Dressed Man 2007 Live Concert at "Vh1 Rock Honors"
Nickelback does get some hate and you can read many articles about why. Just use search "why nickelback is hated".
As much as I love to hate nickleback, I seen them do a cover of zztop and it blew me away
Sam had a Nickelback phase 😂
Really hit their peak from the early to mid 80's Both the albums, "Eliminator" in 1983 and "Afterburner" in 1985, were their best works. Other songs to check, " Legs", "Gimme All Your Lovin'"," Legs", "Sleeping Bags", "Rough Boy", "Stages", and a big thing from the '80s, "Velcro Fly". Love this band. R.I.P. Dusty Hill!
One of the finest power trios of all time.
Hell Yeah
Just got Paid, Legs, Waitin for the Bus/Jesus just left Chicago-have to listen to those two together. ZZ Top is blues based and their music has stood the test of time. Also they have a fan base that crosses over where fans of different genres like rock, hard rock, metal, speed metal etc… I think it’s because their sound is authentic to who they are and music fans appreciate that. Oh and the music is damn good!! LOL
"La Grange' is a must ZZ Top to react to.
Hey First RIP Dustybut a Great Texas Rock/Blues Band
One of the best three piece band ever. That's so hard to pull off.
This was around the time of Olivia Newton John’s song Let’s Get Physical and “aerobic exercise” looking clothing became fashionable for women to wear as regular day to day clothing. I remember leg warmers becoming a big fashion item in the 80s too at one point.
I saw every 80's concert they did. They sound excellent live❤
They learned how to perform their style of music and be entertaining at the same time by playing all sorts of honkytonks and bars before they hit it big. ZZ Top reached the stratosphere with the explosion of MTV. It seemed like the song Legs was played every 45 minutes and soon ZZ Top became the face of popular rock group music. They became one of the groups that was a fan favorite on the channel. By 1984 ZZ Top was playing arenas and stadiums. There was a 5-year period when they were the highest grossing band in the world. Just about any song you play during this era of the 1980's will make you want to dance and feel you are at a great party. This is an example of Texas Roadhouse music that you could hear from ZZ Top, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Stevie Ray Vaughn to name a few well-known entertainers of the era. Have a great time and keep up the great fun you have on your reactions.
The ladies in the car helping out guys is a theme in a lot of their videos.
“Gimme All Your Lovin” by ZZ TOP is the greatest single by the band.
ZZ Top... amazing. the recommendations are FIRE!!!
ZZ Top Video Run during this era is Absolutely Amazing
Legs
Sharp Dressed Man
Gimme all Your Lovin
Great Reaction as Always
The ZZ Top Car & Car Keys make another Appearance
I like how in every video Franks drum set is plain and simple, live it is a monster kit and always looks badass.
Best Little Band from Texas. This is from the 80's when they were one of the Kings of early MTV, when MTV still played music videos. Their earlier stuff was much more blues driven. La Grange was their first big hit. Just three outstanding musicians that worked really well together. La Grange, Blue Jean Blues or Waitin On The Bus/ Jesus Just Left Chicago would be great examples of their early work.
You guys made me sooooo happy right now...kickass!!!!❤
Texas blues, this album came out in the 80s. "I'm bad, I'm nationwide" my personal theme song.
Phil & Sam here's some different fun info. Can you think of another Texas blues playing guitartist? 😉🎸
SRV was ZZ Top’s opening act when he was still a member of the group The Nightcrawlers in the early 70s. Over the years, Billy gave many guitars to Stevie Ray, like a 50s-style maple neck Stratocaster, that according to SRV Archive, he “kept the tremolo arm, pickups and frets in their original condition. But added his signature and initials on the neck plate and pickguard.”
When GOATS recognize GOATS 🎸
"LA GRANGE" is permanent playlist
Great songs from ZZ like sleeping bag, double back, under pressure, give me all your love, rough boy too many to count
ZZ Top are legends in the rock world
The lead guitarist for ZZ Top Billy Gibbons was very close friends with Jimi Hendrixs. When he was very young the band he played in before ZZ Top was an opening act for Jimi's band on one of his tours. Jimi made sure they had adjoining rooms at the hotels so they could get together listen to music and play together in the room. Jimi in an interview called Billy the future of guitar playing. Prety amazing that when you 19 or 20 your idol (billy called jimi that) calls you the future of playing.
Legs...one of the most known music videos of the 80s..great tune
I agree, you need more ZZTop......
This is a great song to listen to while driving on the open highway. You'll feel like flooring it when you hear the riff.
This was a huge party and crusin' hit in high school, and lawdy do I miss 80's girls.
Gotta do 'Heard it on the X'. Their best jam IMO.
This reminds me of riding in the back seat of my friends car to the high school football games on Friday night with this song blaring from his Pioneer stereo cassette tape.
absolutely amazing
Their music was tons of fun, they always looked sharp and the ladies loved 'em.. easy song for them to write! The 1933 modified Ford coupe in the video sold an an auction for $80,000 a few years back..
Zz Top is 🔥! We need more Zz!!
ZZ Top has been on my playlist/walkman/cassette deck since ~1976. Always a fun listen. They have so many memorable songs. To get a quick glimpse of their styles, I recommend "Jesus Just Left Chicago" (very bluesy), and "Gatsta Get Paid" (more modern southern rock sound), and "Tush" (their more typical southern rock sound).
I bought "Tres Hombres" from a review I read in a magazine. I was a freshman in HS and kept telling everyone about this new band ZZ Top. None of my friends gave the band a listen, but I ended up with the nickname ZZ Bear - the Bear because I was a Bear's fan living in Michigan. Anyway, it wasn't long before ZZ Top got huge and the rest as they say... is History. Although their albums from the 80s were better commercially, I will always love Tres Hombres. So raw. That little ol band from Texas was one helluva power trio.
Oh my yes! Now "Legs" or "Gimme All Your Lovin'" please!
PLEASE! MORE ZZ TOP! Such a great, fun band. Try La Grange for a great song from their earlier period.
Check out Billy Gibbons cameo in Rockstar from Nickelback. Love this group. Over the top. Great song from the 1980s. Many great songs from their catalog. Gimme All Your Loving, Tush, Cheap Sunglasses, I'm Bad I'm Nationwide, La Grange, Legs. Many many more.
Love This Song! ZZ Top Have Some Bangin' Songs, Others - Gimme All Your Loving, Legs, La Grange
Hey Phil & Sam! Love your channel and reactions. I hope you are well! I am a very proud Texan and ZZ Top is a state and national treasure! They had many hits and their videos were original and very entertaining. I would recommend Legs, Gimme All Your Lovin, Velcro Fly, TV Dinners, and Sleeping Bag are just a few. ✌️ ☮️ ❤️🇺🇸🎶🎵🎸
The band started in 1958 and this song and album were released in 1983. They had 3 hits from the Eliminator album, Sharp Dressed Man, Legs and Gimme All Your Lovin. Billy Gibbons is the guitarist and lead singer. He is a car enthusiast and owns the car in the 3 Eliminator album videos.
Top notch band from little ole Texas!!!
"Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers" and "La Grange" are two of their best.
This whole album was 'fire!" I finally saw them in 2021, sadly a month after Dusty past away...RIP but they rocked for 2 solid hours.
This is my favorite zztopp song!
Great Reaction BARS & BARBELLS! Glad to see you giving the Little Band from Houston a listen! A Three Man Band that doesn’t disappoint! I’m really looking forward to more of your reactions to ZZ Top! 🎸🙏🏻
ZZTOP So many great songs to choose from - TUSH, La Grange, Heard It on the X, Cheap Sunglasses, Legs, Burger Man, Gimme all your Lovin, etc
They were my first concert I saw back in 1974. It was their Fandango tour.
My senior year in high school (1985) this song was popular. A friend of mine had a car fixed up like the ZZTop car.
I had one of those ZZTop key chains back in '85. Bought it at a Star Trek convention. God, I'm a nerd.
I'm from Houston. If I could go back and experience one concert, it would be ZZT at the Asterdome opening for the Stones!
I was in Japan with my dad when MTV hit the big time so we were isolated from the MTV revolution and video craze... I remember this was the first video I ever saw on a AFN (Armed Forces Network) produced video show. It holds special memories in my mind for that reason
Waitin’ for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago is great. Two separate songs, but they really have to be experienced as one. It’s essential ZZ Top as far as I’m concerned.
This is another mega popular group. They were big, and I guess they still are. o
I was in the Army when eliminated came out it was cool beans baby ❤❤😊
Eliminator, Tres Hombres, Afterburner. Velcro Fly, Pearl Necklace, Roughboy, Legs, Give me all your lovin', LaGrange, Tush, many many more!
My heads in Mississippi. It’s fire come on Phil you’ll dig it
The women in this video have the most 80's hair ever lol, I love it.
Knowing you're Canadian, I am just glad you didn't say Zed Zed Top. You guys are awesome. You've been my favorite reaction channel since I found you.
So many great songs... Watch Rough Boy, Got Me Under Pressure, and any other one from the 80's.
Perfect intro. chefs kiss
My wife and I have tickets to see ZZ Top on October 30 in San Antonio. First time seeing them since Dusty passed.
Southern rock. This album came out in the early eighties.
Great reaction guys!!! They did a remake of Elvis's "Viva Las Vegas" that became a big hit for them.
Great intro to ZZ Top.
Like Aerosmith, there are 2 sides to ZZ Top. Pre 1983, which is extremely bluesy. And post 1983, which is very rock for radio.
saw them back in the late 70s-great concert. i always got a kick out of the fact that the one guy in the band whose name was Beard (the drummer) was the only one in the band without a beard LOL.
Lots of ZZ Top bangers
I love ZZ Top "Tush" is a great jam. Sharp dressed man is from the 80s
This song was from their Eliminator album which was released in 1983. The car is also called Eliminator and is featured in all of the videos. Other songs from that album were Gimme all Your Lovin and Legs.
I grew up with ZZ. HIGHLY recommended "I Gotsta Get Paid"
Legends✌️
ZZ Top played an open air venue concert here pre pandemic. After the Sugarland (country band) storm deaths and injuries. It was a stormy kind of day . There were numerous people watching weather radar on their phones. Big thunderstorm fronts came thru and the band kept playing. The organizers stopped the show and evacuated the park 3 times. Everyone was required to leave the venue with their cars. They had the local radio station act as the public announcing system. They called every back and boom sent everybody back again. The band stayed . The grass parking looked like a plowed field the next day. I am saying they have a dedicated work ethic to stay and attempt to deliver a show when they could have just stayed in their bus . In the end the organizers are the ones who shut down the show.
ZZTop always brings down the house.
20 years ago I was asked to go to ZZ Top concert. Was indifferent about going but went. Was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
