- Hey guys, i'm glad to invite again my friend Olli Soikkeli from Finland for this Acoustic Standards #266 ! We've decided to play the cool standard called Blue Drag. It was composed by Fletcher Allen in 1935 and recorded by the great Django Reinhardt on the same year in Paris.
Olli is playing a 1937 Epiphone Broadway (Walnut back), and I’m playing a 1947 Epiphone Triumph (Mapple back). Both guitars are strung with bronze strings gauge 12 and the sound is captured by both a Neumann TLM 103 and a Bluebird microphone in the room.
Feel free to support the channel if you want/can : www.paypal.me/acousticstandards
I've decided to take a couple of student for online classes so hit me up if you're interested. Contact and info : acousticstandardsinparis@gmail.com
I haven't recorded albums in the style of those acoustic standards, but i have 2 albums on bandcamp with my Django tribute Quartet : romainvuilleminquartet.bandca...
The third one "Three sides of a Coin" is just out, so don't hesitate to drop me an email if you'd like a physical copy, i can ship worldwide !!
I may be considering recording a physical album with these acoustic standards as some of you have asked for it, but as printing cds is being a bigger quest year after year, please drop me a message if you think it's a good idea or if you'd like to preorder one or give suggestions etc.
I also have a youtube channel for the Django stuff with my 4tet : / @romainvuillemin
Please share, subscribe and keep swinging !

I am consistently blown away by the quality of the walnut Broadways. They are just next level.

Si ça n'est pas magistral ... alors ...c'est que je suis sourd ...cette pièce si caractéristique de Django ...c'est bon de voir cela ...great , grandissimo , Maestro ....!!!
Hey merci !!
As usual, thanks for another great video.
Hey thanks Norm
Very cool, guys.
Refreshingly unique.
Thanks
Super! Un standard un peu plus obscur, deux guitares incroyables et deux joueurs très inspirés. Top!!! As to the album, I warmly recommend you put one together. If "physical" is difficult you might even consider putting out a digital-only album. Whatever the case, I'd make sure to preorder a copy and to recommend it to everyone in my entourage. (PS: that Broadway is such a beauty!).
Great tune! I've always enjoyed this one. Excellent playing all around 😁
Hey thanks
A favourite ! Great fellas
