I love the fact be made this video as the hurricane was just forming lol . BORING!? I was on the edge of my key just waiting for that shit to start lol I don’t know about u Guys but I’m BLOWN AWAY lol
omfg. Thank You so much.... I ended up replacing the ends of the battery wires that one got tucked to the side and i completely overlooked that skinny little sucker... simple mistake my part that drove me nuts until I saw your video.. Again... Thank You Sir..
Don't you find it amazing that a very small wire like that can disable your car? I went through the same problem but I learned this issue when I was changing out the clutch. We have to make sure that wire is grounded correctly and securely and I found out that when this wire is grounded to the body of the car that is fails to make contact after time. I decided to connect this wire straight to the battery. Anyways, happy to help.
litleElmo it is amazing. I wonder if breaking this ground also causes DTC to reset too. someone could get sneaky with a toggle switch and have a home made DTC clearing anti theft device all in one lol.. for me this fix is one of those ones ill never forget because of how mind blowing it was for me after going crazy trying to figure out why it wouldn't start... Thanks again!
As for the DTC I don't know if it would clear. Would be something I will have to try later. One time I had a chipped key other than the one for the car and it was to close to the ignition switch and it triggered the anti theft system. I had to wait a few minutes for the car to let me try to start the car again. That was scary lol. Always happy to help.
Help!!!!!! We have a 2001 Focus .. just died on my son as he was driving , now it will not crank, the dash lights do not come on, and windows will not roll up. Radio and lights work fine. All connections good and the battery is fine and clean of any debris. Please let me know what this could be and what to do. The security light blinks normal , not fast & blinks all the time. Please help!!!
Sensor de impacto lo lleva en los pies del asiento copiloto de lado derecho trae un dibujo bomba de gasolina lo apachurra con el dedo y va a arrancar el motor
What order do the wires go on.....I tried to start my car and wouldn't start...lights radio all fine...I popped hood noticed that the little bolt holding terminal on fell off...and the three cables were off...I tried putting them back on but still won't start...is there a certain order?
I have a 2003 ford focus and just got a new ignition cylinder put on I had payed the locksmith guy to come program my 2 keys made it turn on I go out n used after he made it turn on I turn da car off I wanted to turn it back on my dash board is dead no light at all n my car won't turn on anymore wat can it be???
u need 2 clean the corrosion off ur terminals.water & baking soda but use very little water & carefully rinse it when done. (tip battery 2 one side just a little)so, when u rinse it, the water doesn't touch both terminals at the same time!
Can any1 plz help me? 03 focus dohc zetec vin-3, cooling fans don't operate & every part is new! new head temp sensor(1 of it's wires is 12v & other is 5v reference) new cooling fan solenoid & new wiring harness(the old one was shorted out & burnt)( both ends now give off negative 12.56v when hot) I tested the fans & they spin when I apply 12v & ground to them but, I replaced them anyways & still didn't help! I bought a tested/used green 70 amp low speed cooling fan relay, I swapped out the 2 black relays with 2 from junk yard & the big grey cooling fan relay, I swapped it with my ignition relay since they are the same. Yet, still the fans don't work! I know that the fans spin continuously when I disconnect the cylinder head temp sensor but, that fried my alternator after several months so, I cut the 5v reference wire & extended it inside the car & ran a toggle switch & back to the other cut end & that allows me to turn my fans on & off. A;so, I bought a aftermarket cooling fan controller but, it is only set up to run 1 fan & idk which fan is for cooling & which is for my a/c??? now, my aftermarket cooling fan controller is a 70 or 80 amp set up so, I might be able to run both fans but, since the focus head temp sensor is a 2 wire set up, which wire do I use to control the after market fan controller & can I still keep my factory temp gauge? Right now, when I use the toggle switch to operate my fans, I loose my temp gauge while the fans are running & it works again when I shut the fans off! it is so frustrating & I REALLY NEED HELP! ANY & ALL ADVICE IS WELCOMED! Keep in mind that everything is new! the temp sensor, cooling fan & the cooling fan solenoid & wiring harness & I have replaced the relays with other ones to see if maybe that would have any affect? I just removed every ground wire I saw, sanded till I saw bare metal but I applied aluminum anti-seize between the chassis & the ground & im not sure that was my best idea but, I don't want it to rust. it's aluminum so, hopefully it will promote good ground! ANY ADVICE IS HELPFULL!!! THANK YOU! P.S. Everything else works great so, this cooling fan issue has me stumped!
I have same issue also I ran a wire inside the car to control the fan. No solution yet but i bought a used engine. I think the problem is head gasket!!!!
Fuck me. I finally found a battery cover and after i put it on, the car wouldn't start me and my daughter had to coast start it. I bet that little ground wire was corroded and broke off and is whi the damn starter won't kick on. Imma give it a try when i get off work. Lol
Hello Sir! I need your help from Sweden! I have a ford da3 focus 2005 , I pulled out my stereo and then put it inside but now everything works on the Dashboard but nothing happen no crancs no start nothing battery is ok, can you help me?
Any other wires disconnected when you removed the radio? Some radios have the car security wired to them directly and if yours is one then you just disabled your car. Factory radio or replacement will have to be installed and enter password on the radio.
My car won't start after driving it in heat. Turn off car...go into store...come back out...won't start....usually just on really hot days of summer...any ideas? Thanks.
There's a few ways 2 bypass the security but u need 2 know the frequency of the chip/ resistor in it key 1st.(pats system) then u can go 2 radio shack n get a resistor chip that matches it.theres other ways 2
Also u could go 2 junkyard & get a computer from another focus and the pats ring on the donor car's ignition & the keys 4 that car but the vin # won't match so depending on what state ur in the computer will have to be flashed by Ford dealer for dmv 2 legalize it
@@litleElmo I can tell you with 100% confidence that it’s definitely not the starter/solenoid. I was able to by pass it, using a standard push button, and as long as I have the key/turned to the run position, it starts right up, and I can also hear the relay click every time I try to use the key, but I’m no electrician, idk if the relay can still be bad or not.
put that orange and red wire on the battery and check your fuses and relays. Make sure security light is not blinking fast. If security light is blinking fast then it means that the car thinks that its been stolen.
I starter manual and it find the starter I search ground but I find 1 to the engine and another orange with black is the ground of computer I put in the negative but nothing happened
Did you see my other vids? That might help if its not the wire problem. Tell me what the car is doing and not doing and I will give you a few ideas what the problem could be.
Y try to turn on and is the same problem but I check the computer wire and but in the negative but don't work I try to find another ground but is imposoble
I seen the video you had. Looks to me like it might be the starter relay. Switch one of the relays with one that is right next to it. Needs to be the same kind of relay. Look under the fuse box in the hood area and the cover will tell you which one it is. It could also be your neutral safety start switch. Your car is automatic so find the switch and unplug the connector. Stick a paper clip or short wire and touch both wires together and try to start the car. It could also be a bad starter. Look at my video for testing the starter without removing it from the car. Very easy to do. Could be a bad ignition switch but I doubt it.Let me know what you find.
FINALLY! Someone with information on that little wire! I looked and looked to find out what that wire was for. Thanks a lot, buddy!

Does it crank or it just clicks. Always show symptoms.
My 2002 Escort has not turned on easily for 8 mos. Takes 20 times in winter to get engine to turn over and up to 5 times in summer. Any clues?

Did you check your ignition fuse? Its probably blown. Most likely some wires are shorted out near the EGR valve tube between the engine and battery.
Check the relays and fuses
Did you ever find the problem? I have the same with ,07 transit van!!!!!!

I've got x reg ford focus zetec 2.0 16v the ignition lights will come on but it wont spark to start
Late but...crank position sensor maybe.
I am a female who keeps battery connection clean on all my vehicles. Not the wife's fault, maybe she thinks you should do this for her.

What happens when that computer ground wire is connected to body where it's suppose to be?
It will work fine. Just make sure it has good ground contact.
Is there any way to disable or get pass the antitheft system to turn my ignition on ?
No. with the fords, the instrument cluster, ignition switch and chipped key, and computer are all tied together acting as the security.
There's a few ways 2 bypass the security but u need 2 know the frequency of the chip/ resistor in it key 1st.(pats system) then u can go 2 radio shack n get a resistor chip that matches it.theres other ways 2

is this the 2.3l or the 2.0L engine.. ive got the 2.3 with a five speed, and all the lights turn on and with have you, but it wont crank the engine.
I have the 2.0L. You should check your starter relay, fuse, cables to your starter. You might even have a bad solenoid and or starter.

i haven't seen that engine in a focus before!

So with the computer wire disconnected would the car still push start?
no

battery needs a good cleaning as well
Leave it to ford to use 3 feet of what, 16 gauge wire, to ground the main computer!
