On March 26, 2022, He spoke at a webinar entitled Clarifying the Struggle for Socialism: Uses and Misuses of Marx's Capital. You know, for a guy who claims to be fighting against the interests of the imperial core, he sure seems to trust and admire the words of CIA operatives quite a lot.

Which CIA operative(s) are you referring to?

Such a pathetic attempt at slandering Rockhill, you can do better!

I tend to agree in the main with professor Rockhill. But I have memories of reports of incidents at the Berlin Wall, a hideous phenomenon and physical structure. Its sole purpose, to keep the eastern portion of Berlin's population in lock up. Anyone who tried to escape to the west was killed. Socialism's worst hour and a bad example of this man-made ideology. Small wonder many reactionaries time and again point to East Berlin and Stalin's repression as antithetical to socialism's goals for mankind. Bureaucracies with permission to jail and/or shoot and kill dissidents have no place in a socialist nation. Period. At least Fidel found the decency to ship his dissidents to the U.S. Not to mention Gorbachev who finally allowed all dissidents to leave...
    Be well.

You are trying to juxtapose Socialism and Communism as if they are the same thing. East Germany was Communist through and through just as North Korea is Communist.

Perhaps you should investigate the US Prison Industry Complex and the vast numbers of people imprisoned there, including political prisoners, and compare that to how many East Germans were imprisoned per capita. After getting over the shock, perhaps you can then exercise much less self-righteous slandering of East Germany. Many East Germans understand how much they lost when the Anschluss of East Germany was carried out and the West German ruling class strip mined it of its valuable assets.
