There's a whole bunch of other Macross series, Harmony Gold just refuses to publish them in North America because they conflict with the Robotech story line Harmony Gold made up.
Those are monster II, and thus they do not belong to robotech, they reside in macross domain. Also the transformation in the rear is a lot more complicated than this animation as I have the DX perfect transformation toy.
You need to rewatch Macross Zero... AND there are scenes in Macross in space fights when you can actually see them in the SDF-1 firing nad getting shoot, not this ones but the previous models but those are basically the same.
@@Vadjansama Macross Zero is unrelated to Robotec and in it appears HWR-00-Mk IP Monster, the one in Macross known to you as Robotech is the HWR-00-Mk II Monster, and the one in this video is the VB-6 König Monster, so neither Macross Zero and Macross(Robotech) are related to this one.
Ok so I'm not entirely sure about macross lore, as harmony gold sucks, but I do know in Robotech lore, the monster is a destroid, a non tramsformable mech. There are five The defender, phalanx, gladius, tomahawk, and monster. On the other hand somewhere in macross lore the monster may be a variable fighter. I will say regardless of lore this video is bad ass, and lore aside your design for the veritech monster is very cool, and I'm looking forward to more.
Plus VB-6 came WAY after the original series. Like, 40 - 45 years later. In Macross lore, that put it in the time of Macross Plus to Macross 7 and yes, The VF-X series is canonical.
I should be noted that it is a thing that is canon in Macross, the original is the HWR-00-MkII Monster, (known in Robotech as the MAC II for some reason), the one shown here is the VB-6 Konig Monster, which is developed from the original, and shown in Macross Frontier.

Also in general I tend to dislike the Robotech Destroid (oh sorry Harmony Gold, I mean "Non-Transformable Battloid") names, was I tend to with many of those unnecessary changes. At least MAC II sounds cool. I can also understand Guardian, although I'm pretty sure that that was the producers refusing to accept that the target audience was teens and young adults, not kids, and GERWALK actually had meaning. But the worst offender is the Destroid Defender. I mean come on, Raider X? Even watching Robotech was a little kid and not knowing any other names for it, I thought that sounded stupid. Sorry for the essay, lol
@@soramikami4383 I also played battletech back in the mid 1980s... The radar X was known as Rifleman in that game. My favorite destroid was the Spartan/Gladiator/Archer. The last one is its BattleTech designation before they became the "Unseen" Mechs and were removed because of the lawsuit.

I thought this video was very well made but if I was the commanding officer I would not permit unsecured coffee cups or magazines in the cockpit while the craft was in flight or in action on the ground in it's combat mode.
Harmong Gold must go bankrupt so that the IP can be given to someone who care about the franchise or The current owner of Battletech can got their license for those unseen mech back.
A huge lawsuit. Harmony Gold and the Owners of Macross had to work out who owned what, and who had rights to export franchises. The case is settled now. Robotech is now Harmony Gold property, Macross can now be exported out of Japan. We should be seeing more of both.
The original didn't, that is actually not a HWR-00-MkII Monster, but rather a VB-6 Konig Monster developed based on the HWR-00-MkII. It is from Macross Frontier. Have a nice day.

OK, you can make it transform in animation. But anything as HEAVY as the Monster couldn't possibly fly. And if it could fly, it would have to be so much lighter that it would lose the armor required for the survival of such a slow destroid. Nice animation, though, and certainly attention-grabbing. Coffee mug was a nice touch.
all I can say is many years of development of Overtechnology, also it should be noted that I'm not sure if it was made to fly anywhere except for space

@@mrdriver2988 I love the old Macross technical details. A good reminder to the "not enough thrust crowd". Every Macross flying vehicle used Fusion Turbine Engines, which from an engineering standpoint as an extrapolation from the US Governments Fission Turbine Engines, yes we really made them, tested them, same as we made fission rockets which in the 60s produced enough thrust and were efficient enough to get us to Mars in about 6-9 WEEKS.. in 60s tech. While the Fusion Turbines are pure science fiction at this time, fission turbines were as well. I imagine that the macros Fusion Turbines produce enough thrust to lift 100MT easily and because they don't use fuel their limit, which sometimes shows up in the technical manuals as well, is thermal loading (over heating). Fun stuff, to this day that tickles me because it's not as far fetched as it would appear at first.
@@meatybtz that is why I like Macross, so much technical details and all the technology is all in theory plausible just with Overtechnology making vastly easier for them. And I think Macross is the only few mecha with this ammount of detail and specs put int each individual vehicle not even Gundam has the ammount if I can remember.
PLOT HOLE Moving at 850 mph and theres a unsecured ceramic mug just lolly gallidly sitting on the console. . . . Yeah and someone got their face split open when they transformed from that coffee mug and someone else spilled hot, sugar filled coffee in all of the controlls and they crashed. . . .

OK, you can make it transform in animation. But anything as HEAVY as the Monster couldn't possibly fly. And if it could fly, it would have to be so much lighter that it would lose the armor required for the survival of such a slow destroid. Nice animation, though, and certainly attention-grabbing. Coffee mug was a nice touch.
all I can say is many years of development of Overtechnology, also it should be noted that I'm not sure if it was made to fly anywhere except for space
The mech manual from Macross states that the VB-6 Koēing Monster has an atmospheric speed of Mach 3.7 standard mass produced varient. And the SMS is faster than that fue to the modifications on using a lighter and stronger material for the hull.

@@mrdriver2988 I love the old Macross technical details. A good reminder to the "not enough thrust crowd". Every Macross flying vehicle used Fusion Turbine Engines, which from an engineering standpoint as an extrapolation from the US Governments Fission Turbine Engines, yes we really made them, tested them, same as we made fission rockets which in the 60s produced enough thrust and were efficient enough to get us to Mars in about 6-9 WEEKS.. in 60s tech. While the Fusion Turbines are pure science fiction at this time, fission turbines were as well. I imagine that the macros Fusion Turbines produce enough thrust to lift 100MT easily and because they don't use fuel their limit, which sometimes shows up in the technical manuals as well, is thermal loading (over heating). Fun stuff, to this day that tickles me because it's not as far fetched as it would appear at first.
@@meatybtz that is why I like Macross, so much technical details and all the technology is all in theory plausible just with Overtechnology making vastly easier for them. And I think Macross is the only few mecha with this ammount of detail and specs put int each individual vehicle not even Gundam has the ammount if I can remember.
