Been following these charts for over a decade now and studying the Crucible data charts they provide online. Very intrigued at the science behind steels. We just saw the new hangar collapse on Wednesday at the Boise airport (look up pictures) and it is amazing to see steel beams that heavy and wide buckle like that and bend as though they were tin foil. Anyway, I just received the Kabar Snody Big Boss today in S35VN for only $55 (on sale now) because I wanted a dedicated food prep knife with belly and realized I don't have any stainless fixed blades. I've never had any in S35VN so this will be interesting. I will definitely be looking at yours in the future.
I think magnacut would be a good choice. However, I don't see anything wrong with White Rivers' specialty, S35VN. I would be surprised if any of us would be able to tell any difference in performance.
@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors It would be interesting, however, for me, cringe worthy. Maybe get a piece of those steels after heat treat , in the correct thickness and length and do the experiment instead of on knives?
Hhhmmmm that might miss some things. Like absolute resistance to tortional loading can be very different from edge stability, plasticity, elasticity, etc. I do understand the cringe, but it MIGHT be educational... Or wasteful. 🤷🏻♂️

s35vn is an awesome steel imo a lot of these steels are more similar than a lot of the steel elitists on the internet would like to think.
