Nothing feels better to listen too than that fresh improv groove. Spontaneous, emotional and vulnerable. Can’t be beat, and of course you can never lose doing a Grover rendition.
I love hearing the discussions when they're deciding how they want to do it...even though I understand none of what they're talking about. I've recently found this youtube channel, and I'm loving it.
it's usually just general stylistic guidelines. second line is a kind of drumbeat, they talked about the 'head,' which is the melody section and then 'blowing' which is soloing, then they play the head again and end.
That is one cool group, cool as a freshly squeezed pitcher lemonade with raw cane sugar from the shores of the Domican Rep. That is a great, great sax player.
I have ask, someone if he likes this song. And he says he does...but after he thought I was in love with him ( which it is not the case). That is why I love and Listen to you all, because there is no lyrics,no singing it is Pure MELODY. ( Crying) He was right I denieded😥
I liked the drummer a lot (technique and sound). Keys were on spot too considering he played both hammond and funky electric piano sounds. Saxophone player had the feel and bass player kept the band together but I think he could've engaged more but then again the jam was sort of jazz so slapping wouldn't fit well. I love this channel as much as I love the music they play. :)
When micing the drums there is one at the snare. doesn't that also pick up the high hat in the same channel and also a tom? that's where I don't get. How do you pan a high tom if the mic at the snare is right at the highhat and tom? How do you tone down the high hat while retaining the snare volume if there is one mic there?
+Alex Nahas It's not Neu I am talking about wrt rhythm, it's the choice of rhythm for this cover that doesn't fit the song despite having talent like Neu. Kinda like a movie with A list actors and a poor script.
+EJwannabe Just have to think a little different. To me the rythm section is OK. It's just a matter of doing something else that what we have in our ears for years. No need to make a dumb copy of Grover Washington's version.

I'm simply in awe of the quality of musicians in these jam sessions! Good job guys!
I think the sax player is excellent. Very smooth. This group gets my thumbs up
I'm just an intermediate tenor player checking this out. As my jazz teacher would say, l would be eating my "jazz veggies." Great riff, Mr. Neu.
That sax is making my whole day meaningful...... so nice and relaxing music.
Thanks!!
He killed me at 6.35 So soulful !
My man Jim was going crazy on the piano he was hella into it

Cathy C It's always interesting to watch a professional do what he does, whether it be a sport, music or anything else.
gado really? You find it interesting to watch a CPA prepare tax returns? Cuz I don't.
rillloudmother I meant people who actually do something. Not Paperwork, although learning about tricks and loopholes people use is not always boring.
lol, your confused thoughts are laid bare. think before you speak/comment.

The bass player is Jonathan Smith who is the son of Ken Smith of Ken Smith basses. He is an amazing player.
Loved that… big proves to Tenor sax player
Beatiful. Made my night
The bassline is really good. And the hammond solo sounds nice, too. The pianist has a good coordination
Amazing sound!!!!!!!

If you made that instrumental I’d love to hear
Роскрыл глаз✋🏿
Hi ...I've covered the song ...I. Altosaxophone ...thnx for inspiration
Andre Neu is a baaaaad player, but that rhythm is just not doing this song any favors
how can you say that? he's not the best jazzer for sure but he's one of the best studio players out there. plus he has a great sound.

@@alexnahas2907 he says "baaaaaad" to say "very cool", it's not the first degree of sense
