    “I don’t think humans are very well designed” probably the most discrediting statement I’ve heard all year

    • @sammyjohnson5596
      @sammyjohnson5596 Місяць тому +5

      I agree with you. I think it makes more sense to say that humans are designed so intricately and specific, that maybe it isn't the best form factor for robots.

    • @sammyjohnson5596
      @sammyjohnson5596 Місяць тому +3

      But I guess it makes sense to have human robots in a human world

      @lupusrexstudio7327 Місяць тому +4

      Well humans are designed to use tool so why not have a humanoid robot to help use the tools we use.

    • @Brian-oz8io
      @Brian-oz8io Місяць тому +1

      Why design a robot exactly like a human with limited flexibility when you could have it fold over on itself like the Boston Dynamics one? Why only give it 2 arms when it could have 8? Why make it bipedal? It doesn’t need to share our limitations, our inefficiencies

      Only non humans will say that.

    An Apple humanoid robot in the next ~4 years is a pipe dream. They're never the first ones to go to market with net new technology.
    First Atlas 2, Figure 01, and Optimus V3/4 will hit the market, they'll more than likely suck, they'll get somewhat usable in the home after a few iterations, then Apple MIGHT consider building one, for $99,999.99.

      Right, Apple's first personal bot if they do it, will not be bipedal, or extremely useful. Most likely it will be on wheels, or more likely a single ball, it will be small, fitted with many sensors, it will keep watch of your child, read to them, create stories project video, when your away it can watch your home, navigate around and take remote instruction to check on things, great security bot, could turn on lights if it hears something and warn you. But sadly I think there will be way better cheaper options. So Apple best just put the research into bipedal and shoot for 10 years, 10 years goes by like a rocket, sadly.

      @@TheFeedRocket That's on point, it won't be as useful or powerful as the competitors. Just look at the Vision Pro, for example. It has the best hardware, but it came out about a decade too late (completely missing the AR/VR trend curve), and it's sadly lacking on the software side of things, which is what truly matters at the end of the day tbh.

    Apple Rings and Apple Glasses would be my best bet for future lineup devices to come out soon.

      I can see the glasses being useful providing they don't cost an arm and a leg. What function could a ring provide?

    Removing the headphone jack was a huge mistake. My Sony Xperia 1V has everything an DSLR has...micro sd card slot, high fidelity audio jack, dedicated shutter button plus a fingerprint reader, a 4K 120hz OLED screen and no notch or cutout....oh yeah, and the world's best sensor in a smartphone for low light photography without faking it.

    I can see Apple making a robot out of pure gold when plastic would’ve been just fine lol

    I believe there’s been much research in the field of robotics and a consensus maybe that robots which mimicking human form are less likely to scare the crap outta people. Something akin to virtual avatars and the uncanny valley phenomenon on unrealistic representations of people’s eyes in 3D models being scary and off putting. I know that may sound counterintuitive. Yet, if robots were like spiders, I’d personally never want one creeping around my home.
    Perhaps you’re missing a point that it will be inevitable… robots will be more human than human at some point. As some great movie-line once proclaimed.
    Thanks for the discussion.

    These robots will make c3po look like a paper weight

    • @TheFeedRocket
      @TheFeedRocket Місяць тому

      Agreed, but I never thought it would happen this fast, we basically have c3po right now, the AI knows almost every language if not everyone, and trained on most of human text, the current bots probably even walk better. I still think we are 20 years from robots beating a human basketball team. But they will be walking around delivering mail and such in 10 years. My timeline was 2050, we are 20 years ahead of what most thought, I can see that even changing if AI starts to improve itself without our help.

    The statement "Do no harm to a human being through action or inaction" may seem prudent on the surface, but it can lead to uncertainty, philosophical and logical conflicts, and moral dilemmas. It raises questions about when to act or refrain from acting in moral situations. For instance, if a robot witnesses someone harming a human, should it intervene or stay inactive? This dilemma underscores the complexity of human morality and the challenges of navigating ethical decisions. The awareness of good and evil inherently introduces moral biases that intelligent beings may strive to navigate and reconcile.

      @chrisfitzchrisfitz5182 Місяць тому

      This same morality conundrum is something us poor mortals deal with now- considering where we as a species started from, we have moved that moralfootball down the road quite a ways, yet we struggle with it- need I point to all the wars, famine….. yet, we keep pushing technologies forward from one horse power to space!
      No, were no where ready to let autonomous vehicles or any robot run with out ourinput, but seeing how far we are NOW, I’m looking forward to the time I can have a self driving van and robot to help me get around in my power chair and assist me with tasks in the home I need help with!😎👩‍🦼‍➡️

      You put it in the crown. This would mean that you would have to wear the watch with the crown facing forward so that would be the only restriction. Besides that you just need to point at whatever it is you want the ai to identify, that would not be awkward at all. Then the ai sees everything and you can talk to your watch or through your AirPods. Simple.

    I’d like to know and hear what you guys think of Apples future??? They abandoned the car because they know they’re too late, Tesla has that. Apple have said they’re getting into robots, well Tesla are about to release that before we know it too. Phones before long will be superseded and Apple really won’t have anything. Huge Apple fan here but bit concerned for them. Tim Cook sure messed up not meeting with Elon when Elon was ready to cut a deal with them hey. lol.

    • @bacchusbegins
      @bacchusbegins Місяць тому

      Apple did meet with Tesla. They proceeded with full negotiations. They came to an agreement. Then, at the last moment, Elon made the infamous phone call to Tim Cook, adding one final condition, that he - Elon - must be made CEO of Apple. To which, Tim Cook, told him to “fuck off”. Musk has always been more ego than essence.

    There’s no margin in robots so I think they’ll go the way of the electric car. I think rings, glasses, a Dick Tracy watch, a folding phone and maybe an Apple TV with a projector are coming over next 5 years.

    • @ciceroorator1374
      @ciceroorator1374 Місяць тому

      Why is there no margin? Is it a material constraint? Can’t that be made up for with innovative cost effective materials and 3D right to repair printing?

  • @craiggmelville
    @craiggmelville Місяць тому

    Why talk about peak phone then talk about it being the best AI tool. Then you say glasses are what you want, but we are >15 years away from the optics being feasible in that form factor.

    • @Brian-oz8io
      @Brian-oz8io Місяць тому

      Peak smart phone as in the interface we’ve been using since 2011 is about as good as it’s going to get and they’re trying to find the next way of interacting with devices. Implementing some initial ai features is the beginning of transforming it into something entirely different. Flip phone

  • @TheFeedRocket
    @TheFeedRocket Місяць тому

    Robots will outnumber humans in less than 10 years, and just like phones today, almost everyone will have a personal robot. These robots will be from small Roomba size to fully bipedal robots so depending on your financial situation there will be a bot for you. The camera on the watch will be mainly for AI, example your working on your car, or prepping a meal, you ask the AI where do I put x, how do I fix this? or what can I make with these ingredients? what does it say on the menu? how many calories is this? and the AI will say let me see what you're looking at? Do you pull out your phone? or just point your watch at what you're looking at. Of course glasses, pins, hats, etc.. will all get cameras. The watch is perfect for looking at documents because I hate getting out my phone to scan a menu or document. I can't wait for the camera in a watch, I agree it's up first.
