I saw on a painting channel that he recommended warm/hot water to flush the brush. I have a squeeze bottle with the 90 degree bend nozzle so I wrapped it with aluminum covered bubble wrap (got it on a frozen food delivery) and added hot water (think coffee temp). There is no way I can tell you how much difference it makes. It is absolutely night and day. A quick squirt to dilute and dump out leftover paint, one or two squirts of plain hot water and it’s clean. And I mean CLEAN. As in “I took it apart and scrubbed the pieces” clean This is on a Iwata Eclipse and a Creos 771 using relatively thick Createx basic colors and their candy colors
Ive learned so much in a short period of time. I wanna thank you for that. I feel completly comfortable using my airbrush within a week of watching through your videos. You are awesome! Now lets hope art channels will get more love in the future again here, since yt dont seem to care about art channels these days anymore with all the views going down on all channels. Greetings from germany!
Thank you so much for your kind words and I am happy to hear that my videos have helped you get comfortable with your airbrush 🙏🏻 regardless of what YT and its algorithm favour’s, I plan on continuing to create content here to help those who wish to learn, as I love doing it and comments like these make it all the more rewarding 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for your informative airbrushing videos. I have this airbrush (HP-CS). and I can confirm that everything you did here is effective for day to day cleaning and after 2 years of airbrushing mine still performs very well. I thoroughly enjoy my new hobby and continue to learn from seasoned and talented artists like yourself
Thank you so much for your kind words 🙏🏻 I am glad you enjoy my videos and so glad that you are loving airbrushing, all the best and thanks again for your comment.
If the needle comes out that dirty when you pull it out, it means the packing seal is not tight enough to wipe it off. I would not recommend putting cleaner down the needle guide. It just ends up in the body seeing that it ends behind the trigger.
Thanks for this video, is great content!! Could you please help me understand one thing? I use to use my airbrush maybe omce or twice a week top, I also only use acrylic paints. I am used to deep clean it at the end of every session, but now I wonder if by doing so I am overdoing with cleaning. So my question is: how often should one deep clean an airbrush (i normally use a ultrasonic machine and cleaner). And when doing so, should I have to remove ALL parts? Thanks in advance for your help!!
I very rarely deep clean, only when I can feel that the airbrush needs it ie...when you pull back it feels as though there is resistance, or the trigger is sticking down because of dirt in the plunger assembly. If you flush it out after every colour change, (I usually flush both in the cup or bottle) and unscrew the handle and flush through the back once the needle is removed, then you shouldn't need to do many deep cleans at all. 😉
No probs glad you enjoyed the video and yes, I tend to clean in between colours especially if it’s a dark colour and you are going to a lighter one . If you are switching between say a light brown to a dark brown then you don’t need to be as thorough with your cleaning 🤩👍🏻
Biggest obstacle to me using my airbrush is the cleaning. I still don’t know how to do it properly. Biggest problem of all is the tip drying and the paint gradually coagulating back from the tip and clogging everything. Anything that helps reduce the stress of cleaning is hugely welcome!
Yes, I can understand your frustration, cleaning and tip drying are definitely two of the most frustrating things when airbrushing 🤦🏼 that said, I do hope this video has helped reduce some of that stress.
Not sure as I have never used it ? The only lube that I have used is the iwata lube however I stopped using it about 8 years ago and if you keep your airbrushes clean then I find it’s not necessary 🤷♂️👍🏻
You make a bloody mess when you clean your airbrush. I know you've been doing it this way for a long time but there are other ways that do the same thing without making such a mess.

AndrevwZA you seem to have information on air brushing do you have a channel
Very good video. I'm going to start using a brush on my 3d prints. The best thing you can know about a device, besides using it, is cleaning it.
I was not aware about the cleaning cup being a thing that exists , and I have one on order now. Hopefully it will be a less messy job now.
Excellent ☺️

Is there any specific airbrush gun to buy for beginners or can you buy what’s affordable for you?
You have to do this every time you change a color, right?
Thanks for the video! When tou are doing session, how much do you clean between colors? You do this every time you change colors? Cheers!

Do you not take off your fluid nozzle and soak it? I did and think I messed it up because it wasn’t going back into the threads
Hey.
Are you using the Cricut to make stencils? If so, are you going to make a tutorial of that?
No I have never used one, but I have heard they are handy 👍🏻😉
Where do we go if we did this and something is still wrong? Where can I take it to get it fixed?
So just run water through the airbrush and clean the color cup
Yep 👍🏻 you got it 😉
Airbrush Asylum: "So are you unsure about how to clean your airbrush?"
Me: Nod, nod, nod.
ha ha ha 😂 well I do hope that the video helped .

I use isopropyl
I haven’t personally used Isopropyl but that would definitely work 👍🏻👍🏻
is it OK to use mineral oil to lube the trigger assembly/area?
Not sure as I have never used it ? The only lube that I have used is the iwata lube however I stopped using it about 8 years ago and if you keep your airbrushes clean then I find it’s not necessary 🤷♂️👍🏻
I wouldn’t use any lube anywhere in a airbrush,
The best product for the trigger I’ve found is the foxy k33 balm
thanks for the how to clean your air brush thanks lee
No probs glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
What kind of paper do you use to paint on?
I would always say I'm not air brushing I'm cleaning my air brush.
Lol 😂 yep you got it
Study the airbrush with him
