    I’ve been stuck in an absolute rut with my playing lately, pick up my guitar and play the same old 6/7 songs I always play, try something new, doesn’t sound right and put the guitar back down again. Keep trying to learn the blues and it’s either too simple it can’t keep my attention or it’s way too advanced. This course is absolutely fantastic, can’t stress this enough. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for, mint.

    The addition at the end of "you can play it like this" (general "mistakes" [i guess more oversights, compared to mistakes], without letting the "magic flow") and then the presentation of the techniques to achieve the chiseled end, is extremely helpful.
    Also, thank you for referring to them theoretically so we can apply the knowledge to any scale and place on the fretboard. Awesome course!

    Thanks Dan. Love that you mention the soul of the music as that's something a lot of instruction misses. Some tutors can be too clinical in the way they teach and forget what playing music is all about!
    It's the vibe and the feel that the player imparts through those touches that makes any music what it is... something that moves people and uplifts us.
    Great tuition as always. Going to love this course 👍🏾

    I just discovered this series, and after watching this one video, I'm hooked. This may be a little beyond my level, but you present it in a way that makes me think I can get there with some practice. Calling out the degrees of the scale is super helpful, rather than just saying string and fret number.

      Great work! Nylon guitar can seem like almost a completely different instrument to use electric players! The setting of the guitar are likely just all on 10 but for an amp, we're using a keeper with a matchless style amp! hope this helps! 🙂

    Man, that 2 bars of drum intro on the track is pretty hard to count. Any tips on counting that in?

      Hi Lawrence,
      You could try slowing the UA-cam Video down to 75% or 50% speed to help get used to counting in and then gradually increase the speed. You can choose to slow videos down in the Bottom right hand corner of the video in the setting menu.

      @@yga no, I just don’t understand the drumming. I can’t find the down beat. I’m a pretty experienced guitarist, albeit classically trained and not accustomed to swing grooves. I just can’t find the down beat. I’ve tried counting 12/8 123 223 323 423. I’ve tried 4\4. Counting triplets...I just can’t find even a back beat to latch onto. Can you post the notation for the drum intro? That would help? When I click the metronome it’s like it’s trying to give me every subdivision when just the down beats would suffice. Thanks for the response. I’ve got those licks down and riff on dirty blues. Great licks by the way.

    When I do the hammer on I use 1 finger, then find it hard to put fingers behind that quickly for the vibrato. Any tips?

    • @yga
      @yga  2 роки тому

      If you're struggling with the timing slow things down a little give yourself the time to get the fingers behind and also make sure that most of the vibrato is coming from the wrist rather than the fingers :)

    Great lesson is that guitar an ES-335 or something else because the body seems smaller that a 335.

      @yga  2 роки тому +1

      You're right, this is an ES-339! Which has a slightly smaller body :)

    Why do you hit the 1st fret on the A string the first time round, then the 6th fret on E the second time? They are the same note, why make it more difficult?
