As soon as I saw Chuck making eggs and the way the two other people were standing around the kitchen I knew this was a homage from the ending scene of the movie Big Night. Perfectly done by Giamatti. Watch the original. It’s great.
Specifically looked up the scene, (I've never seen 'Big Night') and it's oozing with resemblance! haha. It's so cool. Nice shout out to it. Thanks for sharing that info
I love this scene so much, at first I thought it was building tension for something horrific to happen, but it's such a nice break in the drama, showing a normal moment from their life, sort of outside the TV show. Like what happens in between scenes.
For me, the most interesting thing about this scene is the billionaire guy eating this very "normal" breakfast with eggs and some piece of bread that was just se[aerated by hand by a little girl who just woke up.
What do you think billionaires eat for breakfast? Endangered bald eagles fried along with some Alien goo gotten from space not forgetting an underage girl getting them off under the table
I really liked it, but it just isn't the style of the show so I understand why people didn't like it. Also for reasons there should have been more axe.
This scene is cinematic beauty. So raw yet brilliant in capturing the mundaneness of high functioning elite class lives.. an earthly moment for the masters of the universe, possibly at rest but still in contemplation. Just, beautiful!
Just watched the episode and I went straight here, just loved it ! No one's talking, people just doing their stuff, it felt so chill, I could have watched it for hours. Does anybody knows where I can find other's stuff like this (even by amateurs) ? Is this some count of "genre" ?
I haven’t even finished watching this scene right now for the first time and came straight here to see the comments, if any, of how awkward this scene (is being) or was for everyone lol!

Not since Rei and Asuka rode an elevator. The level of confidence it takes for a writer, director and show runner to do this has to be staggering. Very well done. Edit: After finishing the season and thinking a little more on it. This scene has meaning. Anyone who thinks it doesn’t missed it. The meaning is all about trust. Unlike his relationship of convenience with Axe earlier in the series, Chuck actually likes Prince, considers him a friend and trusts him. Anyone who knows the show knows these connections never last long but for right now there is trust and friendship. You don’t invite someone you don’t trust to have breakfast with your child in your home. Did it need three and a half minutes? Probably not, but it’s a nice touch. I also suspect most of the scene was improvised.
improvised? I know this comment is a year old... but just do a quick search on youtube for "big night ending scene" this is clearly an homage. Everything from the bread to the blocking is carefully scripted.
I was running down the whole show on netflix and watched this scene. I liked it. It made me to google about this scene. And I found quiet a lot of people didn't like this scene. They said it made them uncomfortable or feel cringed. I loved Big Night, a beautiful film with such a wonderful long take ending, and was pleased to see this tribute to Stanley Tucci.
This is the scene. Giamatti has it down perfectly.

Spot on…
I felt it should be a homage for some movie. But never saw Big Night before.
I just watched the exact same scene in the 1996 movie Big Night, such a great way to show a quite moment between family
I knew there would be others that appreciated this scene. Thanks for posting.
You're most welcome.

One of the best scenes of the series. Simple, direct and a lot of meaning. Great show. PG is awesome.
probably the most wholesome scene. I cried laughing at Corey Stoll. Literally me when i’m stoned lmao. Stuck! Great scene.
No it isn’t. Don’t give the ppl behind this show too much credit
What meaning is there
This scene deserves an Emmy by itself. 👏 👏
One of the best scenes i´ve seen, knew it right away this scene was special and ment much meanings.
Nice nod to the final scene in 'Big Night' :)
One of my all time favorite episodes of any show in part due to this scene… just that silence, stoned, contemplative…. Anticipating
Just finished the series and still mildly teary-eyed I return to my favourite scene.

soothing to listen to. 💘☺️
This was so wholesome!
I really didn't want it to end.
Hopefully now this will finally put those horrible allegations that Paul Giamatti doesn’t know how to cook eggs to rest.
Nope, you can see egg shell in there
I’m so grateful for that scene!
a touch of genius that all pot smokers would understand

Prince with the salt over the shoulder
This clip is amazing! Does anyone know where to purchase that wooden spatula-turner?

I love the guy who puts a little salt on the eggs and then throws it over his shoulder for luck!
Definitely not a guy that cooks very much. The salt over the shoulder at 3:21 after Paul walks behind it was excellent.

According to George Hahn, once.
