SOLO Sky Lift Ride - Natural Bridge State Park - Kentucky

- Took the Sky Lift up to the Natural Bridge sandstone arch in Slade Kentucky and then walked over to Lookout Point that was .6 miles out and back.
There are several trails to explore up at the top. You don't have to ride the Sky Lift to get to the top. You can hike to the arch from several trails.

That is a beautiful area. We kept our feet on the ground in this area. We hiked to the top rather than take the tram. Looked like a fun ride. Those trams can be scary. We have one at a ski resort near our town that has one of its spans several hundred feet above the ground in the middle of the span between the towers. So so scary! It is great that you were able to see the Red River Gorge and be at the meetup too. This Natural bridge was really cool. the slot canyon trail was fun too. Looked like you had a great time. Loved the Natural Bridge - super pretty area! That sky lift looked awesome - but the height - YIKES!

Me and my best friend and our 3 little girls rode this sky lift yesterday on our last part of a road trip we took !! We stayed at a cottage at the Natural Bridge Resort and swam there and then did the sky lift . That sky lift is crazy !! It made me a little scared and normally I don’t feel that way 😅. The funny thing is both me and my friend riding up with our daughters separately kept thinking of that movie Frozen that you referenced and both were talking about it when we got to the top !!! How funny that you mentioned it !!!!!! 😂 The beginning of the ride down was the scariest part of the ride !!

I was thinking about Natural Bridge in Lexington, Virginia not Kentucky. What a beautiful place. I have been on a sky-lift from Cherokee, NC to Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Natural Bridge in Virginia is beautiful too. Evidently VA's natural bridge is not an arch like these in KY. I need to research why that is. Maybe because its not sandstone and was formed differently. Gaitlinburg is on my list. I want to check out that sky bridge there. It looks a bit scary. ~RVA~

Yep, on this trip I did the firetowers, this one, Greys Arch and New River Gorge. I was spent after this trip from videoing and creating. I took at 2 week break.....but I am leaving tomorrow and going back to New River Gorge to do the under the bridge walk that I didn't have time to do on that trip. Just now getting around to catching up watching! I also saw that movie.... It's a scary thing to imagine, being left up there!!! I'm not a fan of heights so I've not ridden many lifts... but I freak everytime I do lol

I saw her video of it and she said you had showed it to her I bought 2 of them one for me and 1 for my hiking partner and we used them on a very cold overnight on the New England trail in Massachusetts this past weekend. What a great piece of gear! With temps in the teens they came in very handy!
@@sueb860 Ah yes I got one when I went to Red River Gorge from the guy who makes them Jeremy. I put my phone bank, water filter and water bottle in there at night to insulate them. I put my rechargeable hand warmer in there when I camp to keep my hands toasty. You are very welcome! Love sharing great gear like this with everyone. ~RVA!

Skybridge is in that same area a couple roads over. You drive through Nada Tunnel
Skybridge? I know Rockbridge, I’ve been there. Haven’t heard of Skybridge. I’ll have to look that one up.
