Can’t say enough about how much knowledge is in this pod cast. But what really hit me was how hungry I was when I started and working for free a couple of times. I trained some horses for free and my horse business really took off. Would have done it all over again! Happiest days in my life.

Paul Wolfe, crew chief for Penske, started racing go carts as a child. He moved to Ohio to attend Hobart Welding School still racing go carts. After he graduated from welding school, he headed south. He couldn't find a job in Nascar. He went to Joe Gibbs Racing. He worked for him for free doing anything. Now he is a crew chief for Roger Penske.

I've watched every episode of Uncut and Real Raw and I have to say...they just keep getting better and better. This was an outstanding interview. The amount of knowledge in this episode was great. I have heard of Tommy Manion before, but being able to learn about him in this interview was terrific. I love seeing that he has such a great relationship with his son, Kyle. Well done!!!

I was a working student for over 10 years, back then you were told you would get 1 lesson a day, however it always ended up being once a week because clients came first and duties must be finished first. I usually was so exhausted after being there at 7am I would leave at 9 or 10pm, and if a horse coliced, well then I stayed all night and did my full duty the next on zero sleep. Looking back, it made me a better student, and a much better person.

I wish he would let his guest talk without so many interruptions.

Need to get into the stories, when they tried to disqualify him at the reining futurity for how he held his reins.
    And there are thousand more.
I'm from southeast Missouri and Tommy would come through drumming up bissness and buying horses.

This episode was very informative. I do appreciate hearing successful people talk about their humble beginnings and how starting at the bottom is respected.
I do have to set the record straight that a lot of us book smart people also have street smarts, as well so many can have the best of both worlds. 😊

You mentioned Taylor Sheridan, were thankful for his Yellowstone Syndrome he has created. He has really brought a flood of "Town Money " to the Western Industry. Horse and Beef prices up! It's a win win!!

Dispite what people today think of Impressive.. He was an all around sire.. He sired halter and all around rail class horses that had the looks and movement to do well in the show ring.
