Yeah, you have to watch out for the water pump and oil leaks on these cars, but the non-turbo E90s are otherwise pretty stout. I wish BMW would do a truly compact fun sedan like this again.

Yeah, very nice if kept well. However, it does miss the character of the M50-M52-M54 generation. The sound has less drama, it overall feels less exciting.
I've owned various generations of 3-series over the years consisting of M20, M54, and N52 engines....all of them are music to my ears. Way better than the radio :-)
The good thing is clean ones go for around $7,000 or less if you want a bit of a project. Fun little car to drive and as always the I6 is really smooth.
It is really mind-blowing that this car only costs $4000. The average monthly salary (net income) of Americans is between $3000 and $4000! So, Americans can buy a preowned BMW after working for 30 days!!

I didn't realize how fortunate I am that as a child my family's first car is exactly this. I still vividly remember just how good the straight 6 sounded when my dad revved it out on the highway, even though it's more than 10 years ago. this is my exact car! 06 325i 6mt. 76,000 miles currently. mine is black with the sport package so it’s a little bit sportier than this one. the sport steering wheel, seats and suspension make a difference. as well as having bigger wheels/tires. regardless, i’m so happy to finally see a higher profile channel featuring my car! for what it is, it’s plenty of car. definitely on the slower side by today’s standards but it’s not all about straight line speed. the car is set up incredibly well dynamically and it handles exceptionally well. you will struggle to find a car for as cheap as you can get one of these today that gives you more of an engaging driving experience. the steering is heavy and nicely weighted, and the car has so much grip around corners. and reliability wise, this car is great when you compare it to most modern bmws. the n52 is close to bulletproof, and with it being NA you don’t have to worry about turbos. not to mention the way the looks have held up over the years; the e90s still look amazing today when you find an example that has been taken care of. most people don’t know that my car is now 14 years old. thanks again for putting this out there!
I have a 2006 325Xi E91. Sport package, premium package and cold weather package. No iDrive. Oh yeah and it has a manual gearbox. It is the ultimate car for daily duty.
I’m glad I got my 06 325i with the sports package , really will be a classic , well worth the money if taken care of and not abused , the automatic inline 6 picks up good too

I quite like these E90 BMW’s and was just thinking how rare it is to see one on the road. I wonder if that’s due to maintenance costs and reliability problems, and people just choosing to dump them instead of keeping them running.
It's the latter because unlike the E46, they do not rust, crack subframes, etc., and especially the RWD NA cars are quite reliable if you keep them regularly maintained, which most 2nd or 3rd owners do not... Typical BMW problems that are easily researched before buying and found during PPI do not get addressed and then the next owner has to dump a couple grand into the engine alone. There's tons of DIYs and good information on the forums and newTIS.info which has official BMW repair manuals. Drove an E90 for 8 years and I sometimes wish it wasn't gone; now 2 years in an F80 and I always turn my head when I see a clean E9x 3 Series on the road. Really good looking car especially the LCI model. It is the right size, has hydraulic steering and not too much electronics. A couple pretty affordable suspension mods go a long way on these.

This straight six with a stick? Great pick man! I would like to say though- for about the same price, I'd probably go with the 128i. Same 3.0L inline 6 but in a way more compact body. So much fun to throw around. And if you get the M package with the bolstered seats.... it's like getting hugged by The Rock. Not that I ever dream of that, not at all
@@95ZEW incorrect, the E82 I'm referencing and the E90 mentioned here share the same 3 litre straight six engine. Infact they have pretty much the same underpinnings, drivetrain and suspension too. Not quite sure of what "non fl" means tho
My wife had a ‘06 325i(sedan) w/Sport Package and then a ‘08 328i(coupe) w/Sport Package, both new at the time. Great cars to drive, but in the service departments all the freakin’ time. Biggest POS cars we’ve ever had in terms of reliability. Never again.
Lol I bought a bmw 325i 06 for my first car last year it was 3700 89k miles, had to spend 1800 to fix shit and then it was good to go. Or so I thought, I seem to not be able to get the engine light to go away for more than a week hahah I don’t care anymore I’m done spending the money lol. Great fun car tho, almost crashed it twice drifting tho hahaha

inSAYn My e90 325i has 207k miles, oil leaks yes, water pump and thermostat failure yes but overall this is build like a military machine and the engine drag like a locomotive and keep dragging, has no turbo so in my opinion is better then nowadays bmws. And the steering, omg there is no other car that connect you with the road in such way

There’s a reason you still see the 3 Series from this era on the road but not the A4 or C-class. It’s just that good.
