"there's a party in my head
and no one is invited"
relatable af
This will probably be the song that will make kid's in around 2040-2050 say they were born in the wrong generation .
Great comment lmao
LOL....so true.
such an underrated comment
Probably Not all!
WTF
"Nothing else matters I don't care what I miss. Company's okay, solitude is bliss"
what a line
W for Aries pic
Nothing else matters by Metallica
Could put that on my Coat Of Arms as my motto ahaha
One of his best songs, hands down.
Agreed
@@cryinmonkey2003 the lyrics the music itself the sound effects the vocals. This whole song is a masterpiece
100%! it's up there in my top tame impala songs. very underrated
Yesss
Best album imo ✨.....
.......next to Currents 👀
So glad the Beatles never broke up.
Solitude is bliss... for an introvert, truer words have never been spoken.
It honestly sometimes feels like I can't get enough alone time.
Story of my life is “solitude is bliss”
Yes. It seems hard for some people to really understand (or even believe me?) that I truly enjoy my own company. I'm my own favorite person. Makes for a helluva good time in life :)
@@hayleyb467 I say it's true that you're never alone, really. You've got many aspects to your personality residing in your subconscious that, not only *can* you communicate with, but they *want* you to communicate with them.
If you didn't know, this is where a lot of invasive thoughts and anxieties come from. A part of you feels like it's not being heard, so it's doing everything in its power to get the message to you. The more you try to block it out or ignore it, the more desperate ait will get. These things can manifest in dreams, too. This can be a major source of recurring motifs and metaphorical situations/experiences in dreams.
An example is, if you're standing near a cliff edge or somewhere high up and you have invasive thoughts of jumping off, pushing someone off, getting pushed off, or even just being pulled off the edge by the sheer force of your worry and fear. A part of you is feeling very anxious about your survival and it's throwing potential threats at you, trying to get you to acknowledge them and be cautious. In this example, you can reason directly with it.
For example, "Hey, I understand that this is a very real potential danger, but I've gotten to this point in my life without dying, and my reptilian brain is practically made to keep me/us alive. So, why worry?" If it comes up with some other reason to worry, logic that one out too. Do whatever you have to to comfort that part of you and expand its perspective.
Just talk to it like you'd talk to a close friend who's emotionally frustrated and/or sensitive; make sure that part of you feels like it's being heard, understood, and not underestimated or dismissed. We aren't taught how to come to understand how our mind works, so here I am, a random guy on the internet telling people what schools won't, lol. It's kinda funny.
@@mikeexits this is why I love the youtoob comment section!! I learn so much from generous & benevolent people like you♡ Thank you!!
I've heard about healing one's inner child, sounds similar to the kind of dialogue you suggest with subconscious aspects of our personality. It feels good to hear, "I love you, I hear you, you're safe." It feels good to say, too. Self soothing techniques that are effective, age-appropriate & quite simple. Why aren't we teaching stuff like this in school?! So much pain &suffering could be avoided! I have faith in humanity though. We are the change we've been waiting for ♡
Fun fact: When he sings "You will never come close to how I feel"
It doesn't just mean 'you'll never feel this good', it means "I won't open up/let you close". Which is a mood honestly
its like " i dont wanna show my mind/world for us"
Well yea..
Always there remain portions of our heart into which no one is able to enter, invite them as we may.
~ Mary Dixon Thayer
How exactly do you know this
@@benlevy4827 It was on Genius lyrics. It makes sense with his other lyrics too, especially Lonerism
Arguably Kevin’s most relatable song
You dint even hair the full song weirdo
@@terrorbilly7348 song is a decade old.
@@terrorbilly7348 this song is 12 years old kid, its been around a while.
Agreed
It Might Be Time kinda hit me in the gut ngl.
Lyrics:
Cracks in the pavement underneath my shoe
I care less and less about and less about you
No one else around to look at me
So I can look at my shadow as much as I please
All the kicks that I can't compare to
Making friends like they're all supposed to
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
Space around me where my soul can breathe
I've got body that my mind can leave
Nothing else matters, I don't care what I miss
Company's okay
Solitude is bliss
There's a party in my head and no one is invited
And you will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
Movement doesn't flow
Quite like it does when I'm alone
I'll be the one who's free
You and all your friends can watch me, today
Don't ask me how you're supposed to feel
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
Thank you!
With music like this even the wildest impala can be tamed
This song is the only company I prefer.
Same, fellow Abhishek.
company is fine, solitude is bliss
This song on high volume with my dog laying next to me..bliss
Every time someone tells me to make friends and go out more, this song appears..
"There's a party in my head and no one is invited" Oh God, as a lifelong introspective loner this song resonates with me so intimately. For people who are super sociable it's probably very difficult to understand how some of us are so fascinated by what's going on inside our own heads that many times we find it preferable to what's going on in the outside world. Cheers to Kevin Parker and the boys for making an anthem for us psychonauts.
YOUUUU WIIIIILL NEVER COME CLOSE TO HOW I FEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLL
'You will never come close to how I feel' awesome
I’m a simple man, i see tame impala...i click ❤️
Man this album’s vibe fits the cover art perfectly. The leaves are turning red here in 🇨🇦 and going for a walk to this album on a crispy fall days hits so different 🔥
This song's lyrics defines me pretty well
You're pretty deep, mister.
All rise for the Introvert National Anthem
Lonerism is really an album about being an introvert like
Kev makes me proud to be Australian
This is it, this is the one that started my love for phasers, flanger on drums, Rickenbacker guitars and Tame Impala as a whole.
Thanks KP and pals.
Dude same, flanger on drums is something I would have never even tried to do before.
Honestly thanks to Tame Impala I throw Phasers, Flangers, Chorus, Frequency Shifters, etc. on almost everything in my music, lol.
What is flanger on drums? And phaser is a guitar effect?
.
@@p0mpilius Flanger is like a phaser effect, which you can use a phaser on drums as well, you can throw it on anything really, but flangers modulate the delay time of the signal they're having an effect on which phasers don't do, and the most noticable place in this song you'll hear it at is the last part of the chorus at 3:37. If you listen to the high frequencies of the crash cymbals when they come in at 3:37, you'll hear this like twisting, warped sound going on with the frequencies starting from high to low.
He uses flanger on I believe almost every track on Inner Speaker for his drums, it's like a staple of that blasted, super compressed drum tone. I love it and it's a great way to add character to your drums as well!
The song that changed my life
I’ve never related to a song more in my life... Thank you Kevin Parker. Hope I get the chance to watch you perform live someday when this nightmare is finally over. Love from Greece.
I see a fellow Greek I upvote. !
@@Yosshi95 same here :)
How is Kevin parker so good, he's like the iron man of music, a one man army, a psychedelic Jesus here as the second coming to save us with groove, if you ever get the chance to see him live take it, cant wait for him to release a new album, I need more music like it, I did just find a cool tune that kind of reminded me of tame impala, lonely gimmick - grumpy days, I like the guys other stuff as well, its like tame impala but more funky with some Hendrix guitar, worth a listen
This song resonates with my life so much. It’s my favorite song from Innerspeaker.
The instrumental is amazin, the riffs everythin
The party in my head features Thom Yorke most of the times, but it will always have some space for Tame Impala
hello, you are my friend now
Sensis hello friend :)
After a couple of months of listening to his records (started in Currents -> The Slow Rush -> Lonerism) I finally decided to hear InnerSpeaker in one go today for the first time
This was definitely the highlight... I don’t usually do much as to bob my head to the tunes but man I really jammed on this one
Thanks Kevin
I literally did the same thing, same order. From a hip hop fan, I always felt like this one would be the hardest to get into but second listen and I love the melody/lyrics already. Kevin is a god
tame is bliss
Inner Speaker is amazing
You truly don’t get to hear something so amazing often. They easily show their versatility while keeping that recognizable underlying groove that keeps the so tightly together. In my 35+ year on the music industry it is extremely rare for me to say that not only is every single song on this album and their whole catalogue incredibly brilliant. Every single song on all TIs records are brilliant. It’s mind blowing. And to hear a song like this more than does justice to my ears. Amazing!!!
The song that is blasted in every introverts party for one! 🎊
Here because i found out this song was on the radio in the early stages of GTA 5's development but ended up not making it in the final version.
Same
Company's ok, solitude is bliss - yep. I dig it.
I always turn this on when I’m driving to the beach to surf. Love having this stuck in my head while out surfin
One of the best songs from him 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I sing this when im home alone, and maybe you too.
I wish I saw them when they were touring for this album.
People say pop music is dead. And while I do agree that it's getting stale, especially in the top 10 charts and such, but major artists like Tame Impala are producing incredible soundscapes and many people like them. I think that should not go unnnoticed.
I will be lightly keeping track of the progress of this part of the music scope.
Underrated
Remembering the trippy days and night from the past time ... such a good memories and sad we cannot back to that time
My friend went gone, but the memories stay
Guys, we’re already in our late 20’s. Time really flies. 😢
killer tune, might be top 5 of his best stuff
Just discovered this song after the Thundercat and Tame Impala and honestly I’m punching air because THIS IS ART IN THE RAREST FORM … what was I doing 2 years ago 😅
That one song you play when you get back from school and it's a Friday , good times
This shit is and forever will be my introvert anthem. So fucking good.
Innerspeaker is truly the greatest Tame Impala album to me. It hits me in my neural receptors, deep into my soul. This album is divine

"Solve your problems through Meditation. Exchange unprofitable speculation for actual God-communion. Clear your mind of dogmatic theological debris; let in the fresh, healing waters of direct perception. Attune yourself to the active Inner Guidance; the Divine Voice has the answer to every dilemma of life. Though man's ingenuity for getting himself into trouble appears to be endless, the Infinite Succor is no less resourceful." -- Lahiri Mahasaya (Yogavatar, Incarnation of Yoga).
