I just completely replaced with a new ape tensioner , problem solved was 180$ but top quality part an no rattle. Your's still rattles needs to be fixed.
Thanks for the review! I don’t have that bike anymore I got a different one. Looks like it’s a manual tensioner. Be sure to comment back after some months of riding curious to know if you need to adjust it again
Hello. After you exchanged the black screw for silver, was the noise resolved? My bike has begun to show this noise, for now it is still very little and only at low speeds, but I want to solve it soon so as not to aggravate it anymore and I would like to know if it is only the screw that is the defect.
This can only be fitted after 15,000kms/ 9320 miles. It is not the tensioner itself but a longer screw plug that puts more pressure on the tensioner. It's only if the bike has a start up cam chain rattle. This is not a be all and end all noisy fix as most people seem to have a problem with the noise on these bikes. The dealer would not just replace it if you ask. They would have to determine it has a start up rattle and then proceed accordingly. You would need to take the bike to a dealer complaining of the start up rattle. Do not replace the part if the bike is not rattling on start up. It's not an automatic replacement once you hit 15,000kms/ 9320 miles. Replacing it prematurely could also cause damage and make the chain too tight. If it is fitted and makes no difference in sound then the black cap just be put back in and you may need to replace the guides, chain ect
Got a recall service notification in the mail for the k67 it says “During a recent quality analysis, it has been determined that if the motor ran at continuous speeds over 10,000 RPM's, the spring in the non-return valve of the timing chain tensioner may break. The broken spring pieces may cause damage to the valve gear of your vehicle” yours effected?
Hey Chris. Yes all k67 models and I believe k66 models will need to get the updated tensioner. I was about to make a video on it very soon possibly today
@@GkM1000R i just replaced caps and it fit no problem. I did have to push it in a bit more before the threads caught if I remember correctly. I sold that bike though I no longer have that one

You don't need to pump out oil from cct before you instal new plug?
@@ghawrot1 no you can just switch caps. Some oil might drain out when taking off the black cap

Change the cct to manual and your problem will be solved completely
Thanks for viewing. A lot of people do use the manual cct. Not always needed in all cases but a good option

The hydraulic piston of the tensioner needs to be replaced too to fully remove the rattle, looks like you just did the cap only.
Correct it was just a video for the cap
I tried the same but the tensioner doesn’t fit snug in the silver cap. Is yours the same ?

Also why and these bmws soo noisey like rattle sounds soo mechanical. I've heard it because the engine walls are thin. Is this true
@@512460 I don’t think so. They are excellent machines
From where i can buy the Silver One ?

Needs a valve adjustment I think is what all that noise could be.
I don’t have that bike anymore I have a different one because of other issues that noise is more of the guides, chain ect

Sorry do you think this job should be done with putting bike to TDC before removing old and reinstalling new one.
I don’t think it matters. Just take out old and install new part
Lol, better 😂
