Love how James Gandolfini was so happy and proud everytime another cast member won cheering them on
james gandolfini seems so happy for everyone
Daryl Kelly because while he’s the face of the show, they’re all making names for themselves individually. People normally base success off of the back of the lead or title character. Him being happy means he wants others to succeed ahead of him not off of him, because of their own acting or writing skills.
So does Edie
cuz he was a sweetheart
@@abbydoll he was great

Love how happy the Sopranos cast is for their co-stars, writers, etc. It shows what a true collaboration the show was.
That's just the Emmy's. Any time these shows go to awards shows year after year, it's almost like you're rolling with a gang or something, people who are 100% nothing but in your corner and willing to support you. You wanna see them win, they wanna see you win. And overall you want the show to win as many awards as possible. The only exception is ... I think if you're going up against some else from the same show in your category, that might breed some resentment. For instance, I bet Steve Buscemi was slightly pissed especially considering he was only in one season of The Sopranos. That was his one chance to win it and it went to series regular Michael Imperioli instead.
@@voteZDLR Interesting points.
@@andrewbecker9062 If you don't think people who get nominated for various awards shows like the Emmy's and Oscar's, who go through the effort of writing a speech in the event they win where 80% or more of them never even get the chance to read them, then you're a fool. They will of course smile and clap when they find out someone else wins in their category, and the one who wins will frequently get up there and say "I'd also like to congratulate everyone else in the same category who all desergved the win as much if not more than me" and it's all bullshit. It goes beyond just clout, winning at these awards ceremonies is a huge boon for them. Not that Steve Buscemi was having trouble getting parts nor will he ever have trouble getting them in the future, but generally speaking if you get nominated you want to win and anyone who says otherwise or that they'd be just as happy to be nominated and lose (or in the case of Bob Odenkirk or Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul never even get NOMINATED let alone win) is lying.

I cannot imagine how big of an impact The Sopranos had on the landscape of television series. After decades of mediocre schlock, this was earthshaking.
The Sopranos changed the way how these shows work. There's a video somewhere about it.

Don’t write off the whole of TV history like that. The Sopranos could not have existed without everything that came before. It’s a turning point in the culture, the same way that Jaws ushered in the “blockbuster” in the movie world. But all art from all eras has value. Be respectful.
I think OZ helped pave the way and then Sopranos took the writing to a whole new level.

You can see how Gandolfini holds Michael Imperiolli by the back of his head while congratulating him the same way Tony used to hold Junior or anybody by the back of their hand while kissing them on the forehead, the way for Tony to show his love.
Rishi Gupta Yeah and the cold look in his eyes I think he was planning to suffocate Michael Imperiole

I watched all of breaking bad on netflix while the last season was airing on amc and after the season finale i decided i would pick up the sopranos since i never got around to watching a single episode. I'm mid-way through the last season and throughout the show I couldn't help notice that the relationship b/w christopher and tony is very similar to that of walter and jesse. No wonder when James Gandolfini died bryan cranston said if there was no tony soprano there would be no walter white
You can easily notice that. And it's so fucking entertaining, has too many jokes. Show's got hypocritical theme.
The difference is tho Walt doesn’t kill jesse.
@@jaysonb.6669 That wasn't a plot error though. Just because you were disappointed in his character's fate doesn't mean it wasn't a good storyline. Moltisanti's death was inevitable and served as a cautionary tale for those who engaged in that kind of lifestyle. He had a lot of opportunities to get out. Entering WitPro with Adriana, becoming a successful movie producer, living a quiet life with his family, etc. But instead he chose Tony. He always chose him and yet in the end it was Tony who killed him. It was a tragically fitting if not somber end to that storyline.

I've acted before. I was very aukward, restless, shy, and or aukward in public sometimes, but on camera the best actors channel that into the moment. That's what counts.

Long term parking, the saddest episode in the sopranos.
Such a cold-blooded moment. We all saw it coming, but were hoping for some sort of alternative.

Amazingly, writer Terence Winter wrote "Long Term Parking"--the Sopranos Emmy Award winner--in only a week, although some of the ideas began to take form in his head (either consciously or unconsciously) during the week or so before, as he procrastinated (as happens to even the very best writers).
SO unusual to see genuine emotions at one of these events, loved 'Tony ', 'Janice' and 'Carmellas' true reactions. LOVE the show.
Drea's speech, the best I've ever seen
Michael was the most versatile and multitasking cast member from the show. Wrote, directed and was one of the best actors on the show. Too bad he’s typecast as always a mobster or crooked cop. He is the opposite of Christopher as you can get. He and his wife opens Zen Buddhist centers all over the world and a devotee to martial arts as well. A peaceful guy as one can get. Just as Gandolfini was known as being nothing but humble, caring, generous and kind to everyone in his life. Goes to show how incredibly fully talented and deserving this show is known as being one of the very best Television Dramas EVER!
He's gotten plenty of great roles that don't fit that type. My second favorite performance from him was as Stu Ungar in High Roller. Very different role, and he killed it.

The first season lost to The Practice. And the next three seasons lost to The West Wing. The West Wing had some great moments and is definitely one of the 20 greatest TV dramas, and The Practice was a decent show for a while. But clearly, neither made anywhere near the impression of The Sopranos. They were just "safer" choices. Time is always the biggest judge when it comes to quality not awards.
